Chinmoy is altogether in different league. I envy his writing skills and erudition. Above all his humility. Many a time he said that he was a Learner. To sum up he is  Excellence personified.

@Usha. Admitting and recognizing the vital importance of environment which does provide stimuli in the growth and development of intelligence, how can we hold that all we are born intelligent ignoring its non-sustainanability in the light of new discoveries in the field of science? When even in a family varying degrees of intelligence or its absence exist among its members,no such sweeping generalizations should be made. About reading and intelligence I have this real life story to add.Once the daughter of a serving judge developed a love affair and eloped with her lover much to the intense dislike and embarrassment of the judge who, being distraught with anger was planning all kinds of legal and not-so-legal actions to undo it.Then it fell to the lot of his semi-literate peon to advise his erudite master that all his madly planned action would fetch more disgrace and embarrassment for him and there the master relented!

Kalyani Nandurkar said thank you to suni51 for his/her reply to the topic A new secular republic is our neighbor .
Whenever I visited Nepal I found its people very friendly but same was not the case during my visit in 2009. I think the Nepal is more influenced by China and the relations with India will further deteriorate. I am sorry to see the only nation that was associated with Hindus has lost its status. Medheshi Community that worked real hard for uplifting Nepal has been treated too badly in its new constitution.

Yes. In case of Bamboo chicken, it's available here and there or in remote tribal regions. But Moti Pulao and other items enlisted are neither heard nor seen by me

I can understand. But in real  life the situation is different. Recently, two college students, after seeing a movie of their favorite hero, tried to jump over foot bridge and were seriously injured. It's not fair to blame  only Movies. Movie production is a business. Not realizing this, our foolish movie goers fall prey and suffer the consequences. More fault lies with the crazy movie viewers.

@rambabu On the contrary, I have heard the name of Moti Pulao but never had an opportunity to taste it. Well, I have never heard about other dishes mentioned in that article. Even never heard of Bamboo Chicken about which you mentioned.

@rambabu There lies the whole lot of problem. It is fine to be carried away to the fantasy world while watching the movie but the worst part is we relate it with our real world and start leaving in the dream world. Just for example: the way movies depict marriage, it seems there is only fun and frolic but taking up responsibility is not a part of married life while the reality is very different.  Those people who are smitten by such fantasy marriage are always keen to know what's happening in the lives of the newly married actors and actresses. This is sheer foolishness.

Maoist influence, Madhesi and Tharu grops opposition were there since long. The present constitution is well aware of these aspects. So, it has to be seen now how the authors of the Constitution are going to handle the old issues and make Nepal as real secular country.

@ Gulshan Kumar Ajmani At last, Nepal is secular republic. This is a very big advancement from Hindu monarchy state. Let us hope that the new secular republic of Nepal will prosper and flourish. However the new Republic is facing some issues mainly Madheshi regiuonal issues. Madhesi are mostly in Tarai reguion adjoining Bihar.    One cannot forget the Maoist influence in Nepal which was the cause of abolishing the monarchy and causing a lot of unrest there. There is also fear that Madhesi and Tharu groups may continue their struggle together now that they are forming an alliance to fight against the constitution.Looks like there will be a lot of unrest  in the region, thats for sure !

In a very simple language and in short too, you have explained the difference between knowledge and intelligence very accurately. Everyone can easily make out the difference between the two. An intelligent person has to be a well read person.

True. It's highly essential to have a friendly neighbor, which in turn makes our country peaceful. But right now the situation cannot be predicted, what would be outcome of the newly introduced Constitution.

Definitely. Movie world is m " Make believe world. " that bodily carries you away into a fantasy world.

It is the environment in which one grows which shapes his intellect levels as that determines his/her levels of exposure to the contents of the world outside. The home and school and teachers also play a very important role in one's intelligence level attainment. Exceptions in both directions also occur. An intelligent person usually is well read the converse may not necessarily be true. Experience acts like a chisel sharpening the intellect. I am tempted to narrate some stories. There is a Sanskrit language story of a boy who learnt astrology. He weant to king's court with his father. The king tried to test his knolwdge. He asked what was in his hand. The boy found out astrologocally that the king had something round shaped with some hole. He quickly told. The king joyously asked- Correct. Now tell what is exactly this. The boy said- ginding machine. He could not even understand that the grinding machine was too big to hide in hands. The king had a ring in his palm. This shows that knowledgeable person may not be intelligent. another story.  a very learned man crossed a river in a boat. He asked the boatman if he knew Sanskrit. The boatman replied- No.  Then 25% of your life is wasted- said the man.  Nest he asked if he knew mathematics. The boatman did not knbow. He was illiterate. As illuck would have it, a fierce storm and heavy rain disbalanced the boat. The boatman asked- Do you know swimming? No- said the learned man. Boatman said- Your whole life is waste. Everyone has knowlege. But all knowledge is not useful everywhere. Where swimming is needed, maths, Sanskrit, Vedas are of no use.  You are intelligent if tyou can use your knowledge correctly. You are intelligent if your knowledge is practical.    All of us people are a sum total of our experiences and knowledge gained through books , education and life. And we all have beliefs and prejudices and an intelligent mind would analyse before believing in anything, also evaluate and use knowledge to their advantage. It is also true that you are constantly learning and changing ideas , unless one is extremely rigid ! An intelligent person is not wary of being exposed to new ideas and gaining new knowledge irrespective of it being bad or good because he or she is able to discern the useful from the dross !

@rambabu You are absolutely right that movie mania is a universal phenomenon. What makes India stand a bit apart from the other movie maniacs is that movie speaks louder than our real world.

True. Some exotic foods like Moti Pulao lost in the oblivion. No wonder you never heard about Moti Pulao. Because, later generation knows only about it's existence  through their Grand fathers or grand mothers. I myself did not hear some of the foods enlisted.
