Kalyani Nandurkar said thank you to ABSIVAKUMAR for his/her reply to the topic Why are particular dresses still frowned upon?.
Yes madam, I think it is a question of inferiority complex. I do know one woman closely, and she did confess some one year ago, that she would happily wear a sleeveless blouse but her mother in law would object!! And now it is the same woman commenting on that educated and nice lady, who is known to me personally

It is no use educating people who are now quite habituated to receiving freebies and cash from the political parties. It is a stigma which we all have to live by and accept. Only when truly educated and cultured people decide to enter politics and corruption is wrenched off from political scene, can we expect for any changes in such situation.

It totally depends on whether a person believes in such alternative courses. Such alternative therapies work only for those who believe in them and follow them with their hearts. Those who try them out only as a last resort or without any faith or conviction, it may not work for them. What you suggest is a good thing, natural therapies have never hurt any one, but each to his own.

It is the mindset of these women largely, they refuse to accept the changes that the young women want to embrace. Another reason that I can think of for such needless comments on other women's attire is, possibly an outcome of inferiority complex, the women who pass such comments are themselves unable to wear such outfits for some reason or quite possibly, unable to carry it off gracefully as the others. A matter of sour grapes!

Kalyani Nandurkar created new topic Advice to a member!.
This is for a member who submitted an article yesterday, which when I started reviewing realised that it was copied word for word from another blog http://holidaydestinationinindia.blogspot.in/2010/01/malampuzha-beautiful-hill-station-in.html
I checked the article thoroughly against the blog article and rejected it saying 'plagiarized content found'. Now our wise member who had submitted the article has posted the following note in the said rejected article with a really heartrending note and title that says,
Do not hurt others
The article is written by me. but some other person copied my content. Is it my mistake? Do't blame others without knowing the fact. I don't want to tell lie here. I took 2 weeks to complete this article. I wrote this article for my own blog, but that blag is not online. I read the rules and conditions of writing articles. I know that taking content of others for writing article is a wrong deed. If I violated your rules, you can delete my account. But I want to say the truth. I found a person in wordpress blog with my stolen content. Thus he/she became the owner of my content. I cannot prove my innocence because my blog is not online. I am a Christian and telling lie is against our religion. But God is everywhere and he knows the fact. This content is still in my email Id. My blog name was www.touristdestinationsinindia.blogspot.in. When I searched online for my blog, I could see the blog of some other persons with the same URL. If you have doubt, you can do an inquiry regarding this matter.
According to the claims by the member, the blog owner has stolen her article, but the said blog article exists on the internet exists since January 2010. So who is the real thief??? is my question.
Also, I must make it clear here that the reason I posted this thread is not try to humiliate or laugh at any one but in the sincere hope that if the person wants to be a better writer and wants to earn real money online, he or she should put in more efforts of his/her own and be more honest! That is all.

I'm a firm believer in Mahatma Gandhi's saying," If we do not keep our backyards clean, Our Swaraj will have a foul stench."
There are several schools and voluntary organizations, contributing to keep the city clean. A group of six people in Bhopal decided to keep the city clean without any help from the Government.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new topic Let us also try natural cure.
The SUN TV, the leading TV channel of Tamil Nadu, is doing an excellent work, by dedicating thirty minutes of its time for promoting Siddha medicine which is mostly preventive in nature, and totally safe. The remedies being suggested have been found to work by millions of people. One also understands that the literal translation of this is shown on Telugu channel of the same network, though am not sure whether it is shown in Kannada or Malayalam channels.
Now, the crux of the issue is to not run after allopathic medicines and doctors for the most minor of ailments. The remedies suggested for even removing kidney stones have been found to be very good. So, why not try Siddha and other alternate forms of medicine? Why can't something that worked two hundred years ago, not work now/

ABSIVAKUMAR created new topic How can we stop the use of money in buying voters?.
TheC AIADMK is perhaps the most corrupted party in India. Each of its ministers is so corrupt and the amounts involved runs into several hundreds or thousands of crores. There is a big suspicion that a huge portion of this black money, part of it which is said to stored in the Chief Minister's house itself, is now sought to be distributed to millions of voters at an estimated three thousand per vote. Though the election commission is taking some action, Tamil Nadu is perhaps the most corrupted State where people happily accept money.
How do we go about educating the people? What is the role of intellectuals and the NGOs"? Can they play a role, and if yes, how can this be done?.

Yes sir. Please do share some good work being done voluntarily by people. There is Exonora in Chennai, which has done commendable work. However, we need hundreds of such organizations. Please do share examples of such organizations, so that the good word gets spread all around.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new topic How can we encourage more of love marriages?.
What went viral recently in Tamil Nadu and was shown on television in most parts of India, has sent shock waves throughout the State, and also inviting national attention --- a very young Dalit man was murdered by three hired rowdies in broad daylight, in a busy area of Udumalpet, a small town near Coimbatore city. His only sin was that he fell in love with a girl belonging to the backward community called Thevar. It is now clear that the girl's father has himself organized the crime. He and those involved have been arrested.
But the husband is gone, and the girl has just survived death. What is the use of modern education and liberal views, if we are not able to digest the uprising of Dalit youth? What is wrong in their falling in love with girls of so called upper castes?
How do we go about changing society and its views on this vital issue? How can we encourage love marriages?

I agree with you. There are very remote chances of winning the World Cup. I don't think, changing the captain is essential. But there should be a Change in the attitude in the entire team. I'm of the firm opinion, complacency has played a major rule in ruining the chances of winning the cup.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new topic Why are particular dresses still frowned upon?.
I had recently been to Coimbatore city. It was a reception and a well educated and cultured woman, who, as it transpired, was seen wearing a sari with a nice sleeveless blouse. Though many guests were happily chatting with her, a few were seen commenting about her dress. Later that week, I was at Chittoor in AP, to attend another wedding reception. At least two more women were seen wearing the sleeveless blouses and it did not look so glaring at all. A couple of college girls also presented themselves in minis. However, a few people were seen commenting on such dresses. What surprised me was that the men were least bothered. Only the middle aged women were seen commenting, and they were seen commenting in English.
Why is that we are still not accepting people for what they are, and how they dress, whatever be it that they want to wear? How do we change such opinions or comments?

MG Singh created new topic BJP and coming elections in states.
There is a mini general election on. Some important states like Assam, Bengal and Tamilnadu will go to the polls. The BJP has bleak prospects as in these states BJP has failed to create a wave that it is a futuristic party. It looks more and more as a clone of the Congress. Personally I expect it to be decimated in Tamilnadu and Bengal. Even in Assam it is allied with parties that have no say. It is an uphill task. Modi squandered an excellent chance to show BJP was different from congress. With these defeats, in elections in Punjab also it will be thrown out of power.

rambabu replied to the topic Feeling Tired all day ? - Some Reasons ...
Lack of sleep is not the only thing sapping your energy. Little things you do or don't do can exhaust you both mentally and physically. Some of the reasons that make you tired are in my opinion are here.
Many of us skip daily workout to save energy. But the fact is it works against us. Researchers found instead of skipping entirely when tired, going for simple walking without being brisk can make you active. Not consuming enough Iron, trying to be a perfectionist, making mountains out of molehills, skipping breakfast are some of the other reasons that make you tired.
