The practice of sticking to mother tongue is also prevalent in Germany. Rourkela Steel plant was built with German collaboration. I never heard them speaking an any other language except German.

I too do not know much about the case since it has not come in any of the papers , or may have not been given the required attention by the national media. However, it is sad when people are killed for any reason because no one has the right to take another life !

Chinese and even Japanese refuse to speak in English even if they know it ..They will write directions down in English for you but speak in their language..

I think the lawyers and other concerned authorities will certainly look at and analyse all kinds of evidence related to the case, personally I feel that we must not conduct a trial of our own like this on an online forum.

Every party has some loose cannons and Congress and other parties have had plenty embarrassing the party and its leaders , even the top leaders so let us not single out this issue and make it look far more serious than it really is...Communalisation and dividing nation on the basis of religion and caste took place during the past sixty years so there is no point in pointing fingers at others after all the damage has been done !

Even as an Indian I sometimes find it difficult to gauge what a head shake means with certain people , whether they are agreeing or disagreeing because there is not much difference between the two shakes ..

Can't say exactly. But Nehru was more popular. Again Patel lived very short. Whatever decision were taken, Nehru would be ultimately P.M. for good many years even if Patel were first P.M. It cannot be said that Patel would longer if he were first P.M.

In retrospect one could say Patel did not live log so it does not matter ...however, even in a short period of time one could make a great impact and with his ideology there probably would have been a different India today with less communal disturbances which was the direst result of the shoddy manner in which certain issues were handled..

I don't think it is a smear campaign on a person of his stature , but it could be a reality since Chidambaram brought him in and he owes it to him ! If at all there was any interference I would blame only Chidambaram for taking advantage rather than blame Rajan who has done a stupendous job. Believe me I am all for Rajan to have continued a second term but for a apolitical person it would be a difficult position, being pulled in two directions, probably why he decided to leave..
