There is a famous old saying "Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast." meaning " If there is ever a heaven on earth, it's here, it's here , it's here" said the Mughal Emperor Jahangir in the seventeenth century.Since ancient times Kashmir has been known for its scenic beauty and stupendous places. Its the beauty of Kashmir which makes it recognizable throughout the world. It's beautiful mountain peaks, soothing to the eye glaciers, blue lakes, rivers, the forest's present here and the meadows are of stupendous beauty. That is why Kashmir is rightly called "Heaven on Earth". It is been surrounded by mountains from all sides. No doubt about the beauty of Kashmir, yet there have been instances where the situation in Kashmir hasn't been up to its best. I guess one should forget those things and quickly move on and admire the beauty of this place.
Kashmir is the home to many tourists. Many tourists from around the globe mainly from UK, USA , Britain come to Kashmir to have a taste of its beauty as no one can find this beauty in any place of the world. During the winter's the tourist attraction is very high as people usually come here at that moment to enjoy the snowfall which is witnessed here in Kashmir . Snowfall in India is mainly limited to some places such as Shimla and Kashmir and guess that is why most of the tourists come to Kashmir in winters to enjoy the beauty of this place.
"Pahalgam" , "Gulmarg" ," Sonamarg". These are the voices you would commonly hear if you are here in Kashmir, because of the fact that the value of such places is very high. To be precise it's the beauty of these places which attracts a fellow person towards this place. One has to visit these places if he or she ever comes to Kashmir.
People usually had to come to Kashmir by air, as no other source of transportation was available, but in the recent years train services have been upgraded to a new level, and one can find taxi's hovering around airports and railway stations and can use them to reach their fellow destination.
We can find many hotels, and other guest houses around the banks of Dal Lake for the tourist's or the outsiders to stay. In nutshell the beauty of this place is unexplainable and one must visit this place at least once in their lifetime.
