Three days in a remote hilly area.......
Melting snow was falling with loud sounds on the ground. The electricity services were hampered due to sudden snow fall and fallen trees. It was looking very odd to sit in dark and wait for the light to come when there was no hope of normalcy atleast for many hours. We had only three candles with us so didn't want to waste them too. The battery in the phone was low so I had switched it off too for the times of need.
We had two bread packets left with us which both of us had with the tea that was provided to us by the watchman in the guest house. None else was there in the guest house. I was cursing my boss who had sent us on duty to this remote hily area in such an adverse weather and season.
After having the food, we felt it better to sleep than to sit idle in dark. Whole of the night snowfall was going on. Next morning I could see a more thick layer of snow everywhere, no greenery could be seen, it was all white, snow white and clean, very clean.
All the shops were closed except for a small tea stall where we both went and had two stale toasts with omellete as breakfast. We were lucky enough to get black tea as milk was also not available.
Electricity couldn't be restored that day too due to adverse weather conditions and shortage of manpower.
Another dark night was there to pass on that too with scaricity of food. In the evening, the watchman came with a surprise, he served chicken to us. It was only boiled one with salt but for us it was the tastiest ever tasted. While we were eating it, he told us that actually it was a cat's hunt but he was successful to snatch from it. Still we ate it with pleasure and enjoyed.
We were feeling disconnected with the world and it seemed as if we were to stay here forever, we would die.
After three days of snowfall, the electricity and roads were restored and we were out of the trap.
Coming back home we felt ourselves to be in heaven. Now the little scaricities do not bother us we have seen the actual ones.
