Listening to each other

Listening to each other can make everyone happy.

The family pans a holiday

``Well,’’ said father, ``Where should we go for the summer holidays?’’

Every one started talking at once. Father could not help laughing at the excitement. ``Calm down everyone,’’ he said. ``We will listen to what each person has to say’’.

``I don’t mind going any where,’’ said grandfather, ``As long as the weather is not too cold.’’ Grandmother said, ``Then let’s not go to a hill- station as it will be very cold and I don’t want to walk up and down hillsides all day,’’

``O Kay!’’ said Savita, ``Then let’s go to a place where we can cool off in some other way. How about is some place where we can go swimming?’’

``That’s a good idea! We can go to the beach and play on the sand and cool off in the water. What do you think, me?’’ asked Ram.

Mother smiled, ``I think that’s a good idea. I just want to do sit on the beach and relax.’’

``I agree,’’ said father. ``is everyone happy? Does everyone agree on where we should go?’’

``Yes!’’ came a happy chorus of voices, ``we are going to the beach!’’

Everyone has work along with others. Sometimes, a decision has been made as a group. In such a situation, everyone must listen to what each person has to say before making a decision. Then everyone has a say and each adds some important information to help shape the decision. This way, everyone will be happy with the decision which is finally taken.

Chorus is a group of people who sing or say something together.

Learn to listen to others and understand what they want

It sometimes happens that the parents in a family cannot get on with each other and separate. In such situations, it is the children who have to adjust the most. If you know such a child, try to make friends with him and help him or her as much as you can.
