Ramya’s uncle gave her a pen on her birthday. It was a Chinese pen and quite an expensive one. But one day Ramya lost it in the school.
He was very sad. He went to the principal. ``Madam, my pen is missing, it very good and high class pen’ she said. ``I had it in my pocket this morning.’’ ``Where did you lose it?’’ the principle asked.
``I don’t remember, madam. Perhaps, I lost it in the assembly ground’’. ``When did you go there?’’
``I went there in the morning before the school began’’, said ramya. ``I heard the bell and ran to my class-room. I sat in my seat my pocket. But I did not find it there’’. ``Did you look for it in the assembly ground?’’ asked the principal. ``yes, I did. I looked for it everywhere but to no purpose’’.
``Perhaps it is in your bag. Did you look for it there?’’ the principal enquired.
``I did,’’ said ramya, ``but I did not put it in my bag. I am sure I put it in my packet.’’
``Perhaps someone will find it and bring it here,’’ said the principal. Just then a pen came on the principal’s table. He had a pen his hand.
``Madam, here is a pen. I found it just now’’, said the peon. Ramya saw it. It was same of her pen.
See looked serious and strictly observed. Then ``that’s my pen, madam,’’ she told, a small smile on face.
He principal took the pen from the peon and asked, ``Where did you find it?’’
``I picked it up near the school canteen,’’ he replied.
``When did you go there?’’ asked the principal.
``Just after the second bell ring madam.’’
The principal turned her Ramya and said to her, so you went to the canteen this morning, Ramya, and you did not tell e that.’’
``I forget that, madam. I am sorry,’’ said Ramya.
The principal gave the pen to Ramya. And she said, ``don’t lose it gain. It is an expensive pen.’’
``I will be careful, madam,’’ said Ramya. She turns to the peon and tanked him. After this she returned to her class-room.
