Yeah! You read it right. But wait you needn’t consult a Optician. The title of this article is not a illusion. It is very much what I meant it to be. Hey! If you are thinking of sending me to a psychologist, I politely decline your offer. I was very much in my senses when I wrote this article and I AM ALWAYS IN MY SENSES. You may wonder why I had chosen such a weird title . Well, I have my reasons. The other day I was pondering about the increasing threat to nations worldwide. Security has become a serious issue nowadays.Don't you think?
Suddenly my focus shifted to the people who cause such mayhem. The TERRORISTS! First I failed to understand what made them such anti-people activists. Then I loathed them for what had done, have been doing and will probably continue to do.(Unless our Big Brother churns out some Rambo style warriors to eliminate them. You know the Big Brother, don’t you?)
Then I thought about their impact on our lives. All I got were negative impact on our lives. I decided to try and extract at least one positive impact on us, by them. I thought hard and long but couldn’t find even a single one. But suddenly I arrived at my Eureka moment. I got a variety of thoughts. Let me share them with you.
We all look at terrorists as a bad people (I know the word “bad” is very under-rated). But don’t you think it is this way that the world functions? Where there is there positive energy there is bound to be negative energy, where there is matter existing there is a possibility of anti- matter’s existence, and finally to the simple one- where there is good, there is bad. It is this way that that this universe as a whole functions .( We have seen such numerous things in Hollywood entertainers, haven’t we?) So don’t you think it reminds us of an important possibility , that we are good and they are bad. We all aren’t Gandhi, I accept that. But don’t you think we are better than them in terms of the good-bad meter (If ever there is one like that!). We are, aren’t we? You too will accept that, there’s no doubt about it.
Doesn’t this piece of news make you happy?
It should make you happy. Imagine waking up early in the morning and undergoing tough training. That said we should also know for what the training is taken. Well, we know the answer- Kill people, Bomb nations. Now, shouldn’t we be happy that we wake up early in the morning , not to undergo anti people training but plan our day which lies ahead with zeal and enthusiasm? Yeah! We should feel blessed.
Also imagine living in caves, bunkers and god-knows-what-grows-crawls places. We all live in civilized, cosy homes, don’t we? Then aren’t you happy that we are part of a current crop of civilized humans ?
Well, you should be.
Now, we all know what computers are and what importance they hold in our lives. Why do we log on to the internet? The answer seems pretty obvious- browse , check mail, chat and much more. Why do we do it? Because we want to do it! But terrorists log on to the system for what? To plan attacks, coordinate with far away sleeper cells, send threats and such stuff. Well, aren’t you happy that you never do such criminal acts and never aspire to be outlaw.
Speaking of an outlaw, we all aspire to become a successful engineer or doctor or teacher or any kind of RESPECTED and RESPONSIBLE person. But what do they aspire to become? A successful suicide bomber! Just imagine blowing yourself up just because a lunatic (who calls himself your boss) asks you to do so.
Aren’t we fortunate ?
The main thing I wanted to express was that being what we are, makes us really fortunate. We don’t kill people; we don’t follow some other ideology blindly and do whatever he asks us to do; we never ignore our family and friends for the sake of an organization; we never kill the emotion and affection in us to be known as a lifeless, blood thirsty mongrel; we never do anything which results in an unbearable loss to others; and lastly we never ignore our conscience which constantly reminds us whenever we are on the wrong path.
I know that it is their own chosen path and finally they pay for their sins. But midst all these we shouldn’t forget that is their criminal behavior that awakes the humanitarian in us. Comparing our lifestyle with theirs, it makes us embrace our lives. It makes us feel thankful that we are part of a society which is by the people and for the welfare of the society, not it’s destruction. It also reminds us that we are people who settle scores, not with blood, but with bonding. Even though we may be corrupt or violent or ill tempered, but we will always be miles ahead of them in terms of humanity.
Through this article I really wanted to say that since we can't change how the world runs it is better if we adapt to the circumstances and embrace every moment of our life.
I always believe terrorism is a potential threat .Being a normal citizen, I seriously condemn terrorism and hope that one day all will end. After all the progress we have made technologically and scientifically, it would a sheer waste of manpower and intellect, if people do nothing but destroy themselves. We need a world which is not fueled by hatred and violence but by love and compassion.
Let peace rule the world.
