A woman, earlier, was just a wife who was to take care of the family and produce off springs. She was not an important part of the society. She had no voice and in earlier days for a woman to hold any position equal to the man was an unthinkable concept.
A lot has changed since the olden times especially for women.Today she is allowed to be educated and is motivated to go further. She has stepped into the work field and has taken up the responsibility of the house. She not only contributes physically but financially also.Even she's been given a 33% reservation by the government now.She is now really important.
Her roles have been widened as well. The social mentality has changed. The aversion of viewing feminity as a burden has averted to see her as a boon. Not only is she now treated respectfully, the society expects her to move on shoulder to shoulder with the male folk. She is not only a home maker now but shares an equal responsibility to assist the breadwinner. There are so many factors that have made this happen.
Education has played an key role to build this aversion and change in views, and so has our economy.Somehow in my opinion now the economy has contributed a greater share in building feminist equality.I know it is an unfathomable logic, but do read on and you will understand why?
Education, yes,it has opened the eyes of all that a woman is not a burden in any sense. She is capable and has to be given more respect than what society had to offer at that moment.Great superstitions have been broken.Legal awareness related to dowry, child marriage and childbirth as well have broken mental barriers from ancient times.
But economy? How does that help..that too in giving a woman her equal right ? ....It does!
The inflation rate in consumer prices from July 2008 to July 2010 rose from 7.87 to a whooping 13.91,that it self explains expenses keep growing. To keep your family running the expenses really pinch the pocket. And now there are other necessities other than just the basic. To own a vehicle is important,to have your own house is equally important,in order to get personal agendas moving like marriage and education for someone in the family-all these are important now.To come to our rescue we have readily available loans now;it may be a car loan,a house loan or any form of personal loan. The EMI or loan interest percentages haven't been decreasing either.
Coming back to my point earlier that female education has been made an equal right. She is eligible to work and share an equal burden of the family both physically and financially. There is no point in keeping a woman home who is completely eligible to earn when times have become hard for just a male member to bear all burden on his shoulders.
The vows taken at marriage of giving the wife a 50-50 right should finally be taken more seriously now.As I stated earlier its not only education but thanks to our economy that a woman is enjoying equal rights now.In fact, now it is the very same men folk that motivate and encourage the house maker to step beyond the homely boundaries and take the world on shoulder to shoulder.
So we can safely say that thanks to our inflating economy, females are now encouraged to be educated. In the past two decades,no one would go ahead for a matrimonial hunt for an uneducated girl. Now people demand girls with a sound education and also good work experience.Times have changed.....and it is no doubt for good!
