*September 2002- the world’s largest Buddhist temple with 108 meter tall statue of Bodhisattva, one of the best known Buddhist Gods, is being built in Sanya, a tropical city in China, to boost tourism.

*November 2002- the world’s tallest tower (600 meters high) is being built in Tokyo at a cost of $67 million. It will surpass Toronto’s 553 meter CN tower, the present highest tower.
