You talk to your friends. You talk to your parents. You talk to your teachers. You talk to so many people. God is our father. He has made us. He has given us so many things. We must talk to god for a few minutes every day. Talking to God is `praying’.
What can to say?
You can talk about many things.
1) You must talk God for all the things that He has given you.
2) God is almighty. He can give you anything that you ask for. Don’t be greedy and ask for clothes and money. Pray to him for health and happiness.
3) You don’t have to pray just for yourself. Learn to pray for others. Pray for the people who love you. Pray for someone who is not well. Pray for someone who is in trouble.
God has made this beautiful world for us. He has filled colors in everything. Look around and see the colors God has used for different things.
Looking at things with interest brings you closer to God. You begin to enjoy His world better. You learn to admire God.
Learning to pray
A prayer to God is a must for everybody. It keeps us happy and gives us peace of mind. It wins us the blessings of the all mighty. He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. He is the creator of the universe also. He can destroy it in the twinkling of an eye. An earnest prayer moves the mercy of god. He showers his grace on those who pray to him. They lead happy lives. They are led to heaven when they die.
A Prayer for oneself only is a selfish prayer. It prays to God for one’s own good only. It does not care for the good of others. Thus it is not a true prayer however earnest it may be. It aims at the happiness of a single person. It does not do any good to others. Such a prayer comes from a narrow and selfish heart that is jealous.
On the other hand, a prayer, which is made for all, is generous. It aims at the good for all. It comes from a liberal and selfishness heart is not jealous of any one. So it is a true prayer.
Which of the two kinds of prayer is the better one-made for a single person or that made for the good of all? There is no denying the fact that the latter is a better kind of prayer. Its objective is to achieve the good of all. So, it pleases the almighty in a much larger measure. It has a sense of sacrifice for others. It does not aim at gaining something special for oneself. It seeks the common good of all. Thus it leads to a feeling of equality and brother- hood let read the story of a selfish Brahman.
Learn this prayer by heart
Father, we thank Thee for the night and for the pleasant morning light, for rest and food and loving care, And all that makes the world so fair. Help us to do the thing we should. To be to others kind and good, in all we do, in all we say to grow more loving every day.
