Protein is the most vital nutrient required to built our body. It helps to develop our muscles and internal organs of our body. Protein is responsible for our good immune system, developed muscles, good skin and hair, etc. It generates hormones and hemoglobin within the body. It controls our appetite and balances blood sugar level. In case of any injury, it becomes necessary to consume sufficient food which is rich in protein. It is so because protein not only develops our body, it also repairs our muscles and all other internal organs of the body. It creates insulin, antibodies and enzymes which can fight with any type of diseases and germs to keep us healthy.
The smaller units of Proteins are called Amino Acids. There are 20 types of amino acids out of which 11 are produced inside our body and rest we need to consume. The amino acids produced within our body are-
Alanine, Asparagine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cysteine, Glutamine, Glycine, Glutamic Acid, Proline, Serine, Tyrosine.
The amino acids which we should consume are-
Histidine, Leucine, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan, Methionine, Valine, Lysine, Isoleucine, Threonine.
In order to develop new tissue and muscles in our body, we should daily consume sufficient amount of these amino acids. Lack of amino acid makes our body weak. Our muscles looses its strength, internal structure and metabolic function becomes weak.
The main sources of Protein are Chicken, Meat, Fish, Eggs, Milk and Milk products, Pulses, Soybean, Mushroom, etc. It is considered by the Researchers that Soybean is rich in Protein. Soy Protein is thus helpful for the people who are vegetarians and does not intake mushrooms and other vegetarian protein foods.
