Motion Graphics intrigued people since the time the technology was developed. The journey the technology made is a long one and the graphics that we are able to see now is a result of years and years of hard work and development in this magical world.
The beauty of visual effects and motion graphics lies in the fact that the options and ideas are limitless. You can create anything you want to and you are bound only by your imagination. Motion Graphics gives the person the power to unleash their mind and bring out their full potential.
Though almost everyone is awed by the power of motion graphics and everyone enjoy seeing graphic intensive films, only some can actually take that as a profession. A profession in graphic design requires lot of patience. Actually you require more patience than interest in the subject. You should be prepared to work hard.
The computer is as dumb as it always was and it just cannot understand want you want it to deliver. It is your job to make it understand your ideas and get the final output. A job in visual effects may mean hours and hours of tweaking the settings in order to get that perfect natural look.
Perfectionists do well in this job though too much of perfectionism might make you work far too much than necessary. Also the more comfortable you are with different aspects of the computer the better. Opportunities in the field are unlimited but quality workers are not.
Our industry is swamped with people who actually don’t have any regard for the art but just do it for the money. They do not have the eye for realism. They just try to accept a job and get over with it. This has lead our visual effects to be of much poorer quality than the worldwide standard.
There are many institutions offering different courses in this regard. Choosing the best one is not a job so easily done. Not getting led away by false claims is the key or selecting a good institution. One thing which we need to remember is the jobs are unlimited and pay is good only for the people who have the talent and who can deliver. People without these qualifications are bound to get disappointed by this wonderful field. So it is always best to select this field only if you really have the interest and patience required by this field. That way it is a sure shot way to prosperity.
Finally
Watched Road,Movie today.
And it was fucking awesome. I must say, hats off to Abhay Deo, only he's that courageous in the whole Bollywood Industry to act in a Tarantino style movie.
Also, Dev Benegal directed one hell of a damn good movie.
The movie is dry and slow, but, thats the kind of movies i love to watch, the contemporary Cinema.
The movie starts off very well, and what he encounters and learns how to acclimatize to the situations and well, all the other stuff is for you all to figure out,. I cant tell one bit of this BEAUTIFUL movie.
2 Things I can say for sure, firstly, NOT ONE, Mark my words, NOT ONE dialogue and Screenplay in this movie is un-necessary. All the things, scenes are beautifully crafted and roped in this movie. All in all its a LIFE's JOURNEY.
And Secondly, In my view its India's answer to QT's Inglourious Basterds
Road,Movie
This isnt a roller-coaster Road Movie. If you are watching it expecting some roller-coaster ride, then DO NOT watch it.
Is it a novel tale about touring cinema? Sadly, despite immense potential, it’s neither of the two.
This one is mediocre middle-of-the-road movie. And that is the VERY reason why I loved this movie. Otherwise, it would have became very stereotypical. You cant actually read and guess that whats gonna happen next. Right through the movie you'll scratch your heads out as to what movie wanna convey to us, and towards the end you'll feel like some damn fool, as right from the start of the movie Benegal sends out his signals loud and clear, but, you cant actually catch it.
As the story unfolds, you'l learn that its actually a life's journey, however some of the incidents in th movie may seem bizzare and unrealistic but sadly they arent. This movie shows...aaaahh!!..I'll tell you no more as it will make you biased then.
Go, watch it and then reply back to me.
Leave the fucking critics, if QT would have directed this movie, critics would have given it 5 stars to which they gave only 1.
But then, this movie is made targeting a particular audience only and I am pretty much sure that this kinda audience is abundant
in a lonely place
starring-humphray bogart,gloria grahamme
Cynical screenwriter Dixon Steele (Humphrey Bogart) is prime suspect for murder of a young girl he took to his apartment to do some reading for him.
Laurel Gray (Gloria Grahame), the woman living in the opposite apartment, clears him off the charges before striking a love affair with him.
Yet somewhere in the back of her head, she can't wipe out the suspicion that Steele might be really the killer.
Nicholas Ray handles with absolute expertise the atmosphere of creating paranoia .
Solid performances by both bogart and grahamme.
Short, compact and to the point, IN A LONELY PLACE is definitely a must watch for all film-noir lovers.
my rating-8/10
The Boy in Stripped Pyjamas
The performances are pretty good especially the kids are awesome.
Still the movie does not reach that intesity.
The view of germans n their cruelity is shown in a distinct manner.
The relationship between son-mother, husband wife all r crafted well.
Overall a very good movie.
7.5/10(I liked Kite Runner more in the same genre)
body heat
actor-william hurt,kathleen turner,richard crenna,mickey rourke.
Body Heat is more than slightly predictable up until the last ten minutes where it creates some surprising twists and turns and that shocks you.
It started almost a new genre of films.
The dialogue is impressive .
William Hurt is very gud in the roll that made him famous.
Kathleen Turner looks gud and delivers well too but it could have been much better.
The supporting performances are quiet gud specially of richard crenna"s who makes a great impact on his short role..
the direction at times were plain mediocre but was very impressive in some scenes, specially at the endings.
on a whole,a gud film, could have been great if more efforts were put.
my rating-7.5/10
Boys Don't Cry
Rating - 9/10.
the contender
starring-gary oldman,jeff bridges.
The Contender is an engaging political mystery.
It takes some predictable and some unpredictable twists and turn .
where as many political thrillers have flawed endings, this one too have that as well.
gary oldman was great,he was the best in this film,he overshadowed the others easily in this movie.
jeff bridges was impressive, specially at the endings but at some scenes,he was just okish.
rest actors were competent enough.
overall a gud film, nothing special or watever but decent one.
my rating-7/10.
angel heart
starring-mickey rourke,lisa bonet,robert de-niro.
Harry Angel (a very young Mickey Rourke) is called by Louis Cyphre (Robert De Niro) to track down a man named Johnny Favorite.
While on the case, Harry discovers that he really had no idea what he was getting himself into.
The acting varies. Mickey Rourke is terrific as Angel, although the script has him act flawed in some cases.
He's a guy we can immediately root for.
de-niro was impressive in his small role.
My complaints about "Angel Heart" would be less if the film was suspenseful, scary, or for that matter, interesting.
Unfortunately, it is none of those things.
The approach (the film will only work when it is pieced together after the credits have begun )that director Alan Parker took with the project is not a bad idea from the begining.
Sadly, Parker is unable to keep the audience very involved, and that's a big problem.
MY RATING-6/10
I know, a lot of members would be surprised by that, because usually I dont recommend movies to anyone. But, this movie dosent need to be missed!!
After watching the movie, you'll get to know that this movie is made keeping in mind a particular audience, which we , atleast I definitely am.
Alice in the wonderland
i give it 6/10!
Director : Frank Capra
Cast : Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Walter Connolly, Jameson Thomas, Roscoe Karns
Frank Capra is widely regarded as a revolutionary director and this movie constitutes substantially to this tag. 'It happened one Night' was the first movie of it's kind way back in the 30's where romantic comedies were yet to be born. This is considered as the first major romantic comedy in Hollywood history. Add to it, it was the first ever 'Screwball comedy' movie. Yup, this was actually a new genre invented by Capra. After reading some trivia about the movie, I came to know that the leads Gable and Colbert hated the script so much that they wanted to get over with the movie as soon as possible. Actually, the story of this movie is so simple that it can be explained in a paragraph. But the story-teller that Capra is, this simple story is converted into a very lovable and feel good rom-com which never ceases to amaze you. The movie is full of cliches such as a rich spoilt girl falling in love with a not so wealthy guy and the girl running away from her marriage once she realizes her true love etc etc. But one must also consider the time when this movie was made. Perhaps, this was the first bride runway from marriage scene of cinema history. This movie also influenced a lot of other artists and filmmakers. The cartoon Bugs Bunny is influenced by one of the characters from this movie. Bollywood influence being 'Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi'.
