Overview:
Hi friends in this article let us discuss about a Tamil film called "Love Today" which was released in 1977. As a matter of fact Joseph Vijay (also called as Ilaya Thalapathi) was the hero in this film and this turned out to be a great movie to Vijay. Really during those time, almost every individual in Tamil Nadu liked him very much, because he was so polite even in the movies and also performs well in his character. But unfortunately at present the trend is changing and his idea of becoming a mass hero has resulted in loss of his fan base. Some of his films released during those periods were very well and people also accepted it.
Coming back to this movie, Love today, this can rated as the movies which had a very different climax, yet a powerful one. Though the climax was not positive, the director made sure that the climax of the film is very touching. Hope all the Tamil cinema fans would have watched this movie, and for those who didn't get any chance to watch this movie, I believe the review will help you to know about the story of the film.
Story line:
This film was directed by a debutant director, Balasekaran, who also worked under the legendary director K.Balachandar. Balasekaran also directed some of the notable films like Thulli Thirindha Kalam, which also has a message and in 2007 he directed the film called Arya, starring R.Madhavan and Bavana.
"Love today" was released in the year 2007 and the leading star in this film includes Vijay, Suvalatshmi. Two veteran actors (who are no more), Raghuvaran and Rajan P. Dev ha s played a great role in this film as they were the father's of Vijay and Suvalatshmi respectively.Vijay played the character of Ganesh, while Suvalatshmi played the role of Sandhya.
Vijay's father, Raghuvaran( Dr.Chandrasekhar in this film), is a Government Doctor, whereas Rajan P. Dev( as Vasudevan in this film) is an arrogant police Inspector. Ganesh has finished his B.Sc graduate and he falls in love with Sandhya but he waits for more than 3 years to express his love to her. The main sources of comedy in this film were none other than Ganesh's friends and it includes Karan (Peter in this film) Sriman, the entertaining Thamu and others.
Ganesh's friends suggest hi different ideas to make Sandhya fall in love with him, but unfortunately all their plans fail. Peter also asks help with Mandhra, who was Sandhays close friend. Initially Mandhra was not interested in helping Ganesh, but later she accepts to help Ganesh after she understood that Ganesh was very sincere in his love. She also helps Ganesh in recording Sandya's voice, and Ganesh tamper this audio as such he and Sandhya were talking.
Even though Ganesh was very sincere in his love, Sandhya was very orthodox and she never like him and also love. Her only aim was to get a Gold medal in the college. At one instant Ganesh decides to propose his love to Sandhya, but it was very unfortunate for him, because Vasudevan came to that spot, when Ganesh gave the love letter to Sandhya. Then Vasudevan takes him to the police station and after knowing this Ganesh's father Chandrasekhar took effort to save him from the police.
Ganesh was very clear that Sandhya was very important in his life but at the same time he always has higher priority to his father, because Ganesh and his father behaved like a very good friends. Understanding the problem of his son, Chandrasekhar meets Vasudevan and expresses his desire to make Sandhya as his daughter- in- law. But as expected, Vasudevan humiliates him.
So Vasudevan decides to shift his family to Bangalore. Unable to find the whereabouts of Sandhya, Ganesh was very much worried and finally he got the information that Sandhya was in Bangalore. But unexpectedly, Sandhya's father dropped the plan of going to Bangalore after getting into the bus and returns home. But Ganesh who thought Sandhya was in Bangalore, decides to leave for Bangalore. While he was travelling in a bus to Bangalore, he also sees a lot of crowd gathered in the road, trying to save an injured man who met with an accident.
But it is unfortunate for him, because he never realizes that the person who met with the accident was none other than his father. He travels to Bangalore and the director made sure the film moves very interestingly as he made sure that Ganesh failed to watch the death poster of his father, which was pasted in all Bangalore – Chennai bus. Meanwhile in Chennai, the death of Ganesh's father made Ganesh's friend very much worried and adding to their sorrow Ganesh was also not there to do the final rites to his father. This is really a touching scene, because this expresses the fate of a son, who was not able to do his final rites to his father.
When Ganesh returned to Chennai, he managed to see the death poster in the auto which he came and after seeing this, he just threw his entire luggage to his house. This is really one of the best scenes in the film and hats off to Vijay for his great natural performance. When he reaches his house, he learnt that his friend did the last rites for his father and he just felt as if he was alone in this world.
But the film doesn’t stop here. This film is well known for his different climax and in climax, Sandhya, to everybody's surprised proposed the love to Ganesh. But Ganesh was very clear that his father's death has taught him a lesson and also felt that his love was also indirectly responsible for his father's death. He decides to make the dream of his father, to get a good job, come true, rather than making his dream alive. This is the best part of the movie and shows how a son has a great love and affection towards his father and just threw away his love for his father.
This is a great movie and worth watching.

Easily one of the best bond films made. Though I'm not a big fan of James Bond movies, this one was way better than any of the Bond films Pierce Brosnan starred in (I've not seen Sean Connery or others bond films). The film puts story & performances above the advanced gadgets tht you usually see in Bond films. More sophistication, More realism & More depth.. makes it worth watching.
Daniel Craig, considered an unpopular choice as Bond & everyone doubting his potential n worthiness, just nailed & shut everyone with his performance in this film. He is the truest n finest interpretation of James Bond till now. From the prologue scene to the famous Bond line i.e. My name is Bond, James Bond, Craig was really good, better than Pierce Brosnan anyday who was just style n no substance.
There are some really cool scenes in this film. The prologue, the free-run chase sequence, the airport scene, the car flip n above all, the poker game... this was a Bond treat... with every scene making sense. The way Daniel Craig showed the improvement of James Bond throughout the film was really well-done. The supporting cast werent much great but were just fine.
The ones who are in love with Bond films more for the gadgets might be in for a disappointment. This is more of a character & dialogue driven film, not gadget driven. Another good thing bout this film is tht it remains completely faithful to Ian Fleming's novel. Casino Royale is a complete reboot of the James Bond franchise showing Bond's first assignment & how he got his 00 status. If you want a Bond film with a logical story, then this doesnt disappoint. Go for It.
Daniel Craig IS the Bond, James Bond.
Rating - 7.5/10
Why Ayirathil Oruvan?
Hi friends it is high time, to discuss about the much awaited Tamil film, called as "Ayirathil Oruvan". The meaning of the name title is "One in Thousand" and as a matter of fact the name itself depicts the power of the hero and also the story, which more or less tries to say that it is unique. So I believe you can understand about the title of the movie, but why the name of the movie is very special? The name is so special because this was the title used by the greatest Tamil actor MGR for one of his film and that adds power to this title. You can watch the traile of the movie here
Cast and Crew of the film:
This film is one of the most expected films for more than a year and the film was shot for more than two years. This film is directed by one of the well known and special director called "Selvaraghavan" and he is famous for films like Kadhal Kondein, 7 G Rainbow colony and the Telugu blockbuster Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule .Virtually all his film were huge hit and one of his film "Pudhupettai" was the only film which was not a blockbuster like some of his other films. This has made Selvaraghavan, as the trusted director in Tamil Cinema.
Karti Sivakumar has played the lead role in this film, and he is playing the character of Muthu.
Reemma Sen played the character of Anitha and Andrea Jeremiah as Lavanya.
Nut the interesting aspect of the movie is that, famous Tamil hero Parthiban has played a negative role and it is believed he has played the character of Chola King.
The positive aspect of the film is the music and GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music for this film. This is a really tough task him, because this is a very different subject and we can also say that this is the first time, these kind of movie is directed in Tamil cinema. A lot of research work was done by Selvaraghavan and GV Prakash Kumar, because they need to bring the imaginary music that was existed in the 12th century.
The cinematography for this film is done by Ramji and we can see impact in the trailer itself. Amazing camera work and I believe an award waits for him.
We must appreciate the confidence and patience of the producer R. Ravindran, because this film took more than 2 years to complete and the budget is also very high, 32 crores. This film is distributed by Dream World Spotlight Motion Pictures
Kola Bhaskar has done the editing for this film and let us wait to watch the effect in the movie, which is all set to release on 14th January 2010, for Pongal.
About the movie:
The shooting for the film was started on July 2007 and they have worked really hard, as the shooting went for nearly three years. This shows the efforts and works done in the pre and post production work also. This is a more or less like an Indiana Jones movies, as the trailer suggest, but some reports says that this is about a story, which goes to the past, in 12th century, where they meet historical Tamil cultures and Kings.
This is yet another important movie for Karti, because like Parutheveeran, he is doing a role of an ordinary man (who doesn’t care about anything) and it is said he is doing a role of a load man from North Chennai in this movie. So Karti who made an impact in Parutheveran, yet missed a National Award, is all set to give a great performance in this film and let us keep our fingers crossed about his National Award dreams. In short we can say there is no lack of talent in Sivakumar's family, as his elder son Surya Sivakumar is already a leading actor in Tamil Cinema Industry.
Rumours also suggest that Andrea and Reema Sen were archeologists who was trying to get a treasure, and they do this with the help of Karti. The trailer also explains the presence of lot of snakes in the movie. This movie was shot all over India and some of the places includes, Chalakudy, Kerala; Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Produced at a budget of around 32 crores, this film right was already sold for 35 crores and the film is also set to break all box office record. This film is also dubbed in Telugu with the title," Yuganiki Okkadu" and it is believed that this will also be a hit in Telugu, because Selvaraghavan has already made an impact in Telugu film industry.
The songs of this film have already become a huge hit and to be specific "Un Mela Asaithan" sung by Dhanush have already reached all the audiences. Maalai Neram sung by Andreah and G.V.Prkash Kumar, is a melodious song and this is going to be a great treat for all the fans.

So let us believe that this film does well at the Box office, and advance Happy Pongal to all Boddunan members.
An Inspirational movie:
Hi friends in this article let us discuss about one of the best Hindi films which I have ever seen, which broke almost every box office record in the history of Hindi films. I believe you might have guessed about the film which we are discussing and it is none other than the Amir Khan Starrer inspirational movie called "3 Idiots". We can learn a lot form this movie and I personally believe this is a great movie or the school children, because they have a clear idea of choosing their carrier on their own wish. More importantly, this film is very useful for the parents because they might change after seeing this film and can leave the decision to their child, to chose his/her carrier, rather than compelling them to take a field, which they are not interested in.
Chetan Baghat vs Rajkumar Hirani
This movie is believed to be based on the Chetan Baghat's novel "Five Point Someone" and this has created a lot of controversies after the release of the film. So you can understand this problem based on the statements give by both of them.
When the film was about to release, Rajkumar Hirani stated
" Chetan gave me this book to read and I wanted to make a film on it. But I knew right from the start that I could not make a film completely on the book, as it was very anecdotal and a film needs a plot. So I had decided to rewrite it in a screenplay format. You'll see that the film is very different from the book. After I wrote the script, I called Chetan and narrated it to him. I told him that if he did not like the script, I would stop the project. But he was okay with it"
But after the stupendous success of the film, as it grossed 100 crores in just 4 days, Chetan Baghat gave a statement and according to the statement,
" Initially I did sit down with Raju and Abhijat (Abhijat Joshi has done the screenplay in this movie) while they were deciding to make a film based on '5 Point Someone'. I even went to IIT with Abhijat a couple of times. But it was just not possible for me to be involved at every stage of the screenplay writing process since I was in Hong Kong at that time, working full time and busy writing other books. Moreover, Abhijat is based in USA, Raju was in the US for quite a while working on the screenplay but it was not practical for me to do that [...] The film retains the soul of the book. 3 Idiots is different from the book but at the same time it does borrow many things from the book. The core theme and message of the film is coming from the book itself. And that's why the makers have officially credited the film as 'Based on a novel by Chetan Bhagat"
So we just forget all these controversies, because we want to enjoy the film, rather than analyzing the inside story, and we move further about the story of the film in this article.
Movie Review:
The film starts when R. Madhavan(Farhan Qureshi) takes a flight and he plays a drama to stop the flight, because he receive s all from "Silencer", Chatur Ramalingam, as he knows about the whereabouts of Amir Khan(Rancchoddas "Rancho" Shyamaldas Chanchad). Then he picks his friend Raju Rastogi on the way and enters his college after ten years to meet Silence. But there Farhan and Raju was shocked to know that Rancho was not there.
Then Silencer, who is always against the three friends Rancho, Raju and Farhan during his college days, says that he came to that place to keep his promise (Challenge), that he made with Rancho 10 years ago. Then all the three travels to Shimla, with a hope that Rancho would be there, as Silencer got some information regarding Rancho. On their way to Shimla, Farhan explains the beautiful college life that he had with Rancho and Raju, and we can also understand that Rancho was very practical in his approach rather than being a book worm, like Silencer.
When they reached Shimla, they were taken by surprise to know that Amir Khan was not actual Rancho, and he just came to college in the name of Rancho to get a degree for his master's son. Later another clue changes their destination to Ladakh, because they get news that Amir Khan was there in Ladakh and he was serving as a School teacher.
Again in the flashback, the story movies very interestingly and this time it also explains the love story between Amir and Karrena. The most important character in this film is Viru Sahastrabudhhe, also called as VIRUS, and this character was played by Boman Irani. He is the director of the fictitious college called as Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). He is very strict and Kareena is his daughter. The film moves very fast wit lot of comedy, romance and great feeling, and at last Farhan decides to choose to become a wildlife photographer and Raju was also placed in a company.
The film also expresses the feeling of Virus when Amir helped to operate his elder daughter, who was pregnant and Virus also presents Rancho a prestigious pen. Coming out of the flash back, Raju and Frahan also managed to take Kareena to Ladakh, to meet Amir. When they reached the school in Ladakh all was surprised to see that the students there were implementing the basic engineering techniques in day to day life. This also made them to realize, that this would have been possible only with the help of Amir and they are pretty confident that Amir would be there. Then the film ends when all the friends join and enjoy the moment. Silencer was also there at the scene and he never disappoints to entertain us.
To be frank I don’t know Hindi, but I can understand the story very well and the core concept of the movie is the main reason for it success. This film receive positive reviews from almost various sources and the film has earned around 240 crores(against its budget of 45 crores) in just 19 days from its release. I believe most of you would have seen the movie, and please watch this movie, if you haven’t seen this movie yet.
(watched 28th time..)
As you all know this movie is a masterpiece, a phenomenon, a legend! But I can't stop myself to share my viewes and reasons that why it is on 1st rank on my Top Movies List!

Casting is just too perfect. Every1 done his best job. Gary Oldman , Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine.. but especially Lt. Heath Ledger who deliveres not only his career's best job but also making 'Joker' unforgattable character and greatest villain of all time! You can't see a glimpse of Heath in Joker.. even if you want to! The speech, the talking style, psychotic laugh.. all these things makes him more and more chaotic and resolute! But we should not forget Christian Bale who perfectly plays lives of 'Caped Crusader' and 'Bruce Wayne'. Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gylenhall both does adorable job!
# Music and Cinematography
Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard..these two maestroes perfectly creates d sound of Gotham and Chaos in it! Cinematography gives darker effect which this movie really needed! These both creates d mood and environment for d story!

Christopher Nolan is pure genius! He creates this movie in such a way that you can see the true meaning of character of 'Batman'.. How much pain he has to bear for being vigilante..He potrayes Batman like never before. , he puts CGI effects to less and less priority.. all his attention is to d core of the story.
