Asthma
It is one of most dreadful disease which is common in all ages of human life.
It is respiratory problem which sometimes also causes death in many individuals.
Asthma in simple terms can be defined as how trachea reacts to various stimuli; same time also the bronchi and bronchioles.
As a result there is narrowing of the airways.
It generally occurs when the asthmatic patient is exposed to the dust, cold or smoke etc.
As a result there is obstruction of the airway due to blockage of increased amount of mucous.
In this disease it involves changes to the smaller airways that cause them to pinch closed during exhalation, trapping air inside the patient’s lungs.
So there is acute air trapping, increased work of breathing and ultimately resulting in fatigue.
The problem for breathing is not continuous, it occurs in between short periods.
Between this small periods patient may be asymptomatic that is with no symptoms.
If we see in India numbers of asthmatic patients are gradually increasing year by year.
So many patients are admitted in emergency wards every year due to this asthmatic attack.
Records also say that one in hundred admissions die because of this asthma.
Mostly asthmatic attack is common in children who are below five years of age.
Asthma is more commonly seen in male patients.
But when there is asthmatic attack in females, the condition is more severe.
It is found differently in different people, but it is very common pathological condition.
