BLOOD
Blood is one of the most important part of the human body.
The major function of the blood is to carry oxygen and other essential nutrients to the tissues
Other function is to carry cellular waste products away from the tissues.
It contains plasma and other cells embedded in it.
Plasma is a straw colored watery fluid which is more than half of the total blood volume.
Plasma contains ninety two percent of water which comes from digestive tract. Other eight percent contains some chemicals .nutrients etc.
Other cells that are embedded in blood are RBC (red blood cells), WBC (white blood cells), and platelets.
RBC which are also called as erythrocytes are plenty in number.RBC contains a red pigment called hemoglobin which gives blood dark red color. This hemoglobin binds with oxygen which we call it as oxyheamoglobin which is absorbed in lungs and transports to various tissues
WBC which are also called leukocytes. They mainly help in fighting infection. They produce antibodies when ever any foreign particle enters into body and fight against them.
Platelets help mainly for clot formation. Platelets are main cells in process of blood clotting.
