It is the latest statements by the father-son duo in Kashmir which is catching the limelight of media. Can we take political gain game to that level that we pull out the national interest?? Should that be tolerated in the name of democracy??

Its an outlandish statement. The NC leader was conveniently trying to  put the blame for the Nagorta attack on Indian leaders, especially defense Minister.  A political game to be in the limelight indeed. It can't be and should not be tolerated.

Hi Arunima, the link you provided is not working, you have to press enter after posting it  ..I have done it here..

Omar Abdullah and his father Farooque Abdullah were cultivated by Nehru and they had a free run of the valley for decades. Now, having lost power and clout to a large extent because of the decline of Congress party, he must be frustrated and comes  up with such statements from time to time. I feel that he and his statements should both be ignored

Probably you were referring to Sheikh Abdulla the father of Farukh Abdulla who was put behind the bars for anti national activities. The 3 Abdullahs were chief ministers of J&K for long duration and part of different central cabinets but they still feel they belong to a different world and India is not part of that world.

I clear see traitors in them and the language used is proof enough. But the lack of willpower stops out present political system to take any action against such people. Had they used this language in any other country they would be behind the bar at least. If a proper action is not taken against them it would set a bad example for others in other states too.

Yes you are right ,it was his grandfather Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah and then his father who too comes up with controversial statements from time to time  ..all these people are extremely arrogant and think that the valley is their private fiefdom..

There are some politicians who give more preference to their vote bank politics than country. Public should identify such politicians and avoid them. Such people are not eligible to rule public, they should stay away from politics.

Why only SOME Politicians ? Majority of the politicians concentrate on Vote Bank politics, leaving aside Welfare measures for the people. Vote Bank politics are very common in today's political circles, may be with very exceptions.

Definitely this princely family have been given a free run in the valley by Nehru.

But look at the irresponsible and I would categorically say anti national statements that they make thumping their chest for just some mere political brownies. And there is surprisingly equally irresponsible gang of people who shamelessly support them.

And I am surprised to see the kind of language that they use to put us all through international shame. I think it is high time when we turn our deaf ears to them. Weaning them off from the media attention will fail their goal to create a propaganda and gain these ugly political points

At first hearing the statements do look irresponsible. But on second hearing they do not look so seen in the background of the situation being faced by the Valley residents. Condemning them and using strong words of denunciation only show frustration in the minds of such persons. After all one has to agree that India is at the receiving end in spite of strong measures taken. Our soldiers are unfortunately getting killed on a regular basis and we are unable to stop the cause of it. Mere use of strong words and constant denunciation of certain groups is not going to solve the problem. Deft diplomacy is needed not loud lectures.

What exactly has Omar Abdullah done when he was the Chief Minister that was worthwhile ? All that he does is to surface from time to time and come up with such stupid statements which by now everyone should be ignoring rather than give any importance

Once Farkood Abdullah said that if I was in Pakistan than I could be president of Pakistan. Who understand him that you can also president here if are able and don't forgot consequences of Pakistani's President.

Omar Abdullah, the third chief minister of the clan has stated today that it is not Pakistan behind terrorism in Kashmir! Is he accepting it that it is his party that is behind the chaos in the valley? He should be immediately arrested and interrogated about his source of information.

If I heard correctly Omar said Pakistan did not start the trouble but is fishing in it. This is a candid admission of his failure also. so why do you want him arrested talk to him.

What is stopping them.now? The grand father was stopped by Nehru but now the entire lot van go and live there happily.

You are not giving correct information. Sheikh Abdullah never wanted to go to Pakistan. Therefore there was no need for Nehru to stop him. It is comments like these based not even on half truth which vitiate the atmosphere and a solution is difficult to find. Please restrain your comments. Better not to comment rather than make a wrong comment as some viewers will get misguided, unless that is the purpose. Your hatred for Nehru should not be an excuse for wrong information.

But without any doubt this princely family was favored by Nehru and given a free ride in the valley. They couldn't do anything when they were in power in Kashmir. And once voted out, they are compromising on national interest and making statement that are totally against India. Shows their desperate attempt to seek the political limelight. Moreover they are bringing disgrace and diluting the attempt of India to put international pressure on Pak and Pak sponsored terrorism. They have a big mouth and this time they have put the whole foot in their mouth.

It was because of Nhru that a person like Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah remained in the valley and the unrest is largely due to the familys presence there who have always had links with terror groups.

Before his dismissal, arrest, brief release and re-arrest under the case, the intelligence agency had collected ample proof regarding the Sheikh's links with Pakistan and of his speeches and activities to these affect, after which Bakshi rearrested Sheikh Abdullah. The entire matter relating to the alleged conspiracy of the Sheikh for joining hands with Pakistan was submitted to Nehru along with documentary evidence and recorded tapes of his public speeches. Jawaharlal Nehru was taken aback while listening to the tapes and going through the letters of Sheikh Abdullah. He approved launching of a case against the Sheikh, his one time very close friend. Thus, the Kashmir conspiracy case was launched against Sheikh Abdullah, Mirza Afzal Beg and 22 other people on charge of having conspired with Pakistan for making of an independent Kashmir.[6]

Sheikh never wanted to go to Pakistan but wanted to declare independence and was supported by USA. He was arrested in time before it could happen.

Yes OmarAbduulla should be put behind the Bars. That is the right place for him.

What Abdullah did was far worse since he wanted to merge Kashmir with Pakistan and with a grand father like that, can Omar Abdullah be trusted since they have come to power because of their family name, another dynasty rule .. And Nehru showed how gullible and a poor judge of character he was by trusting someone like Sheikh Abdullah inspite of Sardar Patelcautioning that Sheikh Abdullah would  let down India

http://www.dailypioneer.com/columnists/plain-talk/it-all-began-with-sheikh-abdullah.html

Sheikh Abdullah was always looking for ways to dilute the ‘full accession' of J&K to India. Yadav refers to the agitation by the Praja Parishad in 1952-53 for complete integration of the State with the Indian Union on the basis of one Constitution. He writes, “Sheikh Abdullah tried to use this agitation as an excuse to stall his previous commitment of accession to India in all fairness. He openly challenged India's secularism on this incident and put forward an argument that the integration of Jammu and Kashmir and particularly of the Kashmir valley and certain adjoining parts which had Muslim majority with Hindu India would not be in the interest of the Muslims of Kashmir.” In other words, what the ‘Lion of Kashmir' was seeking was separation of communities on religious grounds.

Omar Abdulla'S remark that there will be either be continuance of Article 370 or the State's secession  from India. Every Indian has to condemn this kind of Separatist attitude.
