best way to deal with office politics is listen others, need not speak, no backbitting and concentrate on work :)

Asha, there are several ways to deal with office politics depending on what levels it is happening at. If it is happening at your subordinate level, then you need to ask some serious questions to those involved. At your own level, you should try to ignore and concentrate on your own work and try not to get pulled up in what others are doing BUT at the same time, you also should make sure that you let your immediate boss know what is happening, without revealing too many details or it may alienate you from your colleagues, but just the general feeling. And always make sure that you do not become a part of it all.

It's very much part of the office -office game. You cannot stay away from it. Tackle it as it comes your way. One by one, case and merit based. Besides it depends on your status in office, if you are someone in there, you face lesser and differently but for juniors it is always a mind-game to be played very carefully. Avoiding helps but to a reasonable limit.

It's very much part of the office -office game. You cannot stay away from it. Tackle it as it comes your way. One by one, case and merit based. Besides it depends on your status in office, if you are someone in there, you face lesser and differently but for juniors it is always a mind-game to be played very carefully. Avoiding helps but to a reasonable limit.

Like a droplet of water on a lotus leaf, be away to save yourself from the silly office politics. If you are really an employee which contribute to the growth of the organisation no politics will dare to come anywhere near you.

I agree, even the best can dance to the tune of jealous and influential, some of the best have sought refuse in switching over.

Politics in office cannot be avoided such as devilish bosses, annoying subordinates and jealous peers. blow your horn occasionally, profile powerful workers and communicate per suavely.

Oh talk of the bad bosses, when it comes to getting credit, he is the only one in the company that works. He uses his power to frighten the juniors or when he is working with you, he will be trying to stab you in the back. You got to be prepared for all his ill designs.
