I have started this thread exclusively for unusual facts about the nature!! Please share your information as well!!

The only poisonous birds known are the three species of Pitohui from Papua new Guinea - the Hooded Pitohui Pitohui dichrous the Rusty Pitohui P. ferrugineus and the Variable Pitohui P. kirhocephalus. The Hooded Pitohui is the deadliest. The skin and feathers contain almost the same homobatrachotoxin as the Poison Arrow Frogs.

Its hard to believe that such a pretty bird could be so lethal!!

Dolphins are very intelligent and social in nature. They often display a playful attitude which makes them popular in human culture. They can be seen jumping out of the water, riding waves, play fighting and occasionally interacting with humans swimming in the water.

Yes i have noticed it you gave two birds name..I only posted one..Kalyani has posted it in this thread before..

Nice to see a picture of the second bird...

Kalyani yes dolphin is very cheerful and friendly animal which is my favorite one too.. i hate people who kill it for their benefits..after seeing it how come they think of killing.. :angry:

Its all about money Rajani!! Greedy people do not care about sentiments or feelings or beautiful beings for that matter! Money drives them to kill such beautiful animals!

Rajani, I like all animals and birds, even reptiles.

In Puen, we have a Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park which is exclusively a park for snakes. They also have a small orphanage for injured and orphaned wild animals and birds. I and my friend used to go there as volunteers years back during summer.

And thinking of pets, think beyond only cats and dogs, keeping an alligator as a pet will keep some troublesome relatives away! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
