I have started this thread exclusively for unusual facts about the nature!! Please share your information as well!!

The only poisonous birds known are the three species of Pitohui from Papua new Guinea - the Hooded Pitohui Pitohui dichrous the Rusty Pitohui P. ferrugineus and the Variable Pitohui P. kirhocephalus. The Hooded Pitohui is the deadliest. The skin and feathers contain almost the same homobatrachotoxin as the Poison Arrow Frogs.

Its hard to believe that such a pretty bird could be so lethal!!

Thinking of getting an alligator as a pet?? :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Check this link

http://www.ohioreptileservice.org/Reptile%20Facts.htm

It has all the basic information about caring for reptiles.
Do you like reptiles Kalyani..Inorder to get a pet think about unharmful animals like dog, rabbits, birds etc...But reptiles..
Thanks for the information Kalyani mam...
Rajani, I like all animals and birds, even reptiles.

In Puen, we have a Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park which is exclusively a park for snakes. They also have a small orphanage for injured and orphaned wild animals and birds. I and my friend used to go there as volunteers years back during summer.

And thinking of pets, think beyond only cats and dogs, keeping an alligator as a pet will keep some troublesome relatives away! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Really wonder full . look this also. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Machu Picchu sometimes called the ?Lost City?, is a pre-Columbian city created by the Inca Empire. Machu Picchu is a 15th-century mountain settlement in the Amazon region of Peru.

Weird Fact: The scientific name for a gorilla is “Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla”

First off, let us just be clear: this is the scientific name for a particular type of Gorilla – the Western Lowland Gorilla (this is the type you are most likely to see in a zoo – and the most common). For some reason the poor gorillas got stuck with the weird names – if you aren’t a Gorilla gorilla gorilla, you are a Gorilla gorilla diehli, Gorilla beringei beringei, Gorilla beringei graueri.

The Bwindi Gorilla (a type of Gorilla beringei) has not yet been given a trinomen – for the sake of fun and to be a little different, I propose it be named Gorilla beringei ChuckNorris.
Thanks for creating a thread to share the wonders of nature. :) :)
Nice information has been shared here.. :) Good to see many natural mountain ranges and natural beauty.. :)
I am really amused to be heard of a poisonous bird
