A cartoonist participated in anna team gathering in Mumbai. He is charged with sedition and insulting national emblems.

It is time all remember that there is a limit to individual liberty. Individual freedom and liberty cannot be allowed to degenerate to anarchy and lawlessness.

I like that government is taking action against the people who don't respect their country and flag. Identity of the person hardly matters.

Government should take action against such people who can't respect their national flag what do you expect from them what they would do for nation.
The cartoonist has been arrested and sent to jail after production before Sunday Court.

He drew wolves in place of lions in the National Emblem! This is not acceptable and misuse of the Right to freedom of Expression.

Live in the present :)
Not only him many people are doing this now a days he had came out but not others. We must respect our national flag then other countries will respect us.

Now the so called anti corruption brigade and some votaries of freedom of expression have come in support of the cartoonist alleged for sedition. They say that his action is well intended and in democracy many things happen. A former judge also supports him saying that he never made a case of contempt of court against any one during his service.

Such support is ridiculous. This way every offender can give some excuse. Then every thief, robber, rapist will come with some pretext to cover his crime.

National Flag is our pride. We get strength when we see our Flag.Feel proud to be an Indian. But there is no right to blame it any way or should one insult it.Yes the police has taken a good step against the cartoonist.

Sharmistha Banerjee
The cartoonist has undoubtedly committed offence of insulting national symbols. But he is definitely not guilty of sedition. His silly offence was just a way of fighting corruption. Hence, very likely the allegation of sedition will be withdrawn but other allegation will stand.

I think instead of persecuting him, what he has tried to draw attention to should be looked into. The recent overdose of corruption, not on a small scale, but of humongous proportions indicate anything but a state of peaceful reign. So if he has drawn wolves in [place of lions, he has done nothing wrong! A flag is only an emblem and it represents what a state stands for. If that is missing, then there is nothing left of the flag but only a cloth banner on a staff.
