Almost all political parties question the AIADMK for their decision to make Sasikala the party chief and now possibly the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. Congress has been very critical while they themselves brought in Sonia Gandhi as party chief simply because she was related to the Nehru family and were ready to hand over the entire nation to her as well and now want a totally incapable Rahul Gandhi to lead them .. Sasikala according to reports has been managing the political show from the shadows while Jayalalitha was the CM as well as when she was in prison which means she has experience unlike many of our politicians. Akilesh Yadav was totally raw when he was made the CM because he was Mulayam s son..

The high tension drama continues in Tamilnadu with Sasikala MLAs leaving her .. However, bulk of them are still lodged at the resort in Mahabalipuram but with no access to outside world, no TV or cell phones..Sasikala paraded her MLAs through Jaya TV which now she controls , but no other TV channels have access to them . The whole episode seems very fishy ..

According to the latest News, Panneer Selvam  is in a commanding position.  The supporters for him, increasing by minute. However, Sasikala is not going to surrender so easily. Since nothing has come out from the Raj Bhavan, she has been insisting on the Governor's final decision  to decide, about the CM of TN.

I think Sasikala is abusing the democracy too much, it is clear that Paneerselvam has more support than she has so the way she has interned her MLAs in a hotel and refused them access to outside world, is that even morally legal and keeping up with democracy? If the governor is not finding it easy, cannot the court intervene and decide matters once and for all? After all, in light of what is happening in TN, we can only imagine the exorbitant amounts of money that is going waste, not to mention hundreds of hours of these representatives of the people being spent in unproductive activities, spending money on hotel stay and luxuries etc.! How much more of this stupidity should the people endure?

@ Kalyani, as of now it looks as if the majority f the MLAs are behind Sasikala , denying to the police that they were kept in the resort by force . It would be interesting to see how this is going to take shape ..The governor had a very tough task on his hands. Some of my friends living in Chennai were saying that if Sasikala was made the CM there would be widespread protests by all offices and others because she has absolutely no public support..

Is that what they are saying now? If she has the full support of the MLAs, then why was she acting so paranoid by keeping them locked away in a hotel! Things are really getting interesting but I still feel she is abusing people's money and squandering it away ridiculously!

Sasikala is moving earth and heave to become the Tamil Nadu CM. Now the Attorney General says, who soever has the Majority should be made as the CM. On the whole there is a state of uncertainty prevailing  in Tamil Nadu.

The delay in swearing in by governor is unconstitutional. A leader has been elected by the ruling party. She gets six months to get elected. The governor is obviously working under Center's guidance and has not given any concrete reason for not calling her for swearing in. If the court convicts her she will automatically lose her CMship. It is not a healthy precedent being set up by the ruling party at te Center.

How the cener has come in to picture?. The Attorney General to the Governor has instructed the Governor to allow the Parties to prove their majority in the Assembly. Now it has to be seen whether the Governor will parties a chance to the Parties or not.

The Governor is the representative of the Center. He held detailed meeting with home Minister. Why was the AG's opinion not sought one week earlier. Timing also tells a lot.

I dont think so.  . the AG in order to break the uncertainty in the State that was running for days on, he has suggested the Governor. It is a suggestion. It is up to the Governor to act or not.

If the situation at the center had been slightly different with UPA in power , @ Vijay would have a different take on the situation, supporting the governor s move for sure ! However, a governor has no statutory time limit for this as AG himself has mentioned . I am sure the governor is studying the ground realities which is an overwhelming hatred for Sasikala because of her greed for power and her other connections..I am sure he is hoping that more MLAs desert her so that his task becomes less complicated which is understandable since the Constitution and rules are meant to safeguard and not forcibly thrust on people ..Here is a link that throws some more light on what would happen with Sasikala in power ..

Why do you think on my behalf based on your bias. Give your views.

So tomorrow is the D Day. Let's wait and watch what destiny holds for Sasikala.

But one question keeps coming to my mind when a not elected person fights for a democratic governance position on the basis of ?????.......What qualifications does she have to be a CM?? She has followers because she closely followed Jaya??

That is what the Supreme court and the Govrnoer are going to decide tomorrow.

@ vijay , You think many a times on others behalf based on your bias, so why the double standard now when I speak the truth based on your earlier posts and your views on the said subject ?

Arunima, It just shows to what levels our political situation has fallen, anybody with connection can aspire to be the CM without peoples mandate and by hook or crook Sasikala has manage to have majority of the MLAs on her side, which is what is  making her feel so confident ..

The supreme Court judgement has just come in producing Sasikala guilty , asked to surrender immediately. She gets 4 years prison sentence and cannot contest elections for 10 years ..So there ends the rise and fall of Sasikala. .

I am watching the news right now, and it seems like the problem is now resolved as Sasikala would be definitely resting for a few years now in the jail. So I think now Paneerselvam is free to act in the capacity of the CM!

But it looks as if she will play all her cards before surrendering, now planning to appoint a successor , so that she can call the shots from the prison..We will have to see how far she is going to carry through with this game plan ? The really unfortunate thing is the entire police force waiting to be beckoned by her into the resort to arrest her rather than carry out the supreme Court verdict ..Such is the power of Mannargudi mafia ..

Her dream to be a CM shatters. But she might play her cards by choosing her successor as said by Usha. That is the hunger of power and money.
