Yes. The title of the thread is appropriate. Because in the world ranking there is no city from India which is cleanest and Greenest.
Coming to the Subject, I lived in Tiruchirapally or Trichy for a month in connection with a training related to my department. And Trichy deserves the honor.
And none of the cities I lived mentioned in the list.
I guess there are different lists for cleanest cities of India...All the cities mentioned in the list definitely deserve a mention...However, Mangalore too is one of the cleanest cities in fact much cleaner than Mysore , this is the opinion of almost all those who visit us ...Also it is found among the cleanest cities in another list made by yahoo...
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
Yes. In he link you provided Mangalore is listed as one of the Cleanest cities. In the same list I have seen Rourkela, where I lived for 25 years and certainly deserves the honor.

Yes I saw that in a TV channel news today. As I have said earlier I have visited Mangalore several times and can personally vouch for that . Mangalore and many cities of Karnataka, Kerala and TN fully deserve to be in that list. I always found South India far more cleaner than rest of the states of India. I think the number of people and civic sense has a vital role to play.in such matters.

Chandigarh tops all lists and is considered to be the greenest and a model city in India, would love to visit it and also Amritsar which too is a very attractive place from what I have seen in pictures and videos..

Definitely Civic sense and a will to keep the city clean will make a big difference.

As far living is concerned I have lived in all cities mentioned in both lists but I am living in the middle of 4 cities mentioned in my first post.
@Usha- I suggest you visit Dehradun as it is not too far off from Chandigarh and Delhi. While in dehradun you can visit queen of Hills Mussori (35 km) and while in Chandigarh you can visit Shimla by toy train or a taxi.
It reminds me of my past experience with toy trains.. For the first time I travelled by Toy trains in Darjeeling. The train was from Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. It was an experience worth remembering all my life.

That train still runs in between Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. I have traveled many times by that train and it's so amazing to travel @ 8km/hour. It takes 8-9 hours and you can get off the train at any bend and reboard when it comes traveling the hilly distance. That is perhaps the smallest train anywhere in the world.

Yes I agree. In the same tour some of my friends who were with me used to get down from the train and run along with the train and catch it again . A funny but really memorable experience.
