This is something we get to see everywhere in life.People start doing something with a lot of interest and after a week or so slow down and may give up altogether.I have seen a couple of ladies buy expensive Gym equipment and start off with a lot of enthusiasm only to give up after a few days and the equipment remains in the corner without being used....
Is this a natural trait or wrong bringing up or lack of will power?

Lack of strong will.. We know many who quit before they start even., That's why they say, quitters never win and winners never quit.

I agree but I feel that is an acquired habit that needs to be instilled right from childhood.I see students trying to put things off or give up altogether but when they are reminded and made to do it, they fall in line since it becomes a practice and a routine...
Even I have noticed the same thing. For my self also. I mean I have started blogging with very excitement but now loosing hope about it. But still will try to be more active on it.

From my own experience I feel that ones blog needs a lot of time and attention and one can never think that once they have uploaded some content it is going to earn for itself, never happens that way ! You have to add new contents and be there to show some activity and also have others look into it...

Yes have noticed that, and even I do that sometimes when I don't get the good results
This is a natural trait. Any thing new or that which you never did before is interesting enough to begin. But soon you get tired of that and get interested in something new. This also explains why some of our members who perform exceedingly well give up or quit later.
@Usha, I think most of the time it happens when our expectations do not match the results of what ever task we start out. Like for instance, in the example of gym that you gave, most people join an expensive club or buy the equipment thinking that they will lose weight very easily in just a few days after starting with the routine, but these expectations are not realistic and it is only after a long duration that one can start seeing the results of their workouts. But either they do not have patience or because they don't see tangible results, they lose interest and give up. So what is needed is perseverance and a lot of patience!

I agree that most people have this tendency- even where article writing sites are concerned, I see people leaving even before they have found a foot hold and are just about getting to know things....I guess it is human nature, that's why we have very few brilliant people in our society who reach the top through sheer grit and perseverance like the top sportsmen or Industrialists or musicians, scientists who can all be counted on our fingertips...
Yes this happens with every one even with me too it happened in the past I joined a gym with lots of enthusiasm but after a week only I gave up and forgot about going to gym. May we all need comforts in life and don't want to do physical work.

That's why most people are not able to keep up with their new year resolutions or even promises...partly it might be due to laziness or it might be due to a lack of will power in the first place..
This is common nature when we start we have a big interest and after few days the interest will go and that may be due to to a habit.
I feel that with careful monitoring and teaching habits do and can change for the better even when you are adult and think that ou have become set in your ways. One can adapt to new and better things at any stage of one's life..

We have Telugu word for this, "Aaarambha Sooratvam." If roughly translated it means, "Starting with fanfare and quitting silently. and surreptitiously.
Hard Work along with Knowledge, determination & Patience.

People these days tend to have fast results. When they fall they get depressed / demotivated / distracted from the subject.

Young generation have the tendency of flying high with confidence, many get succefull too, but many give-up they dreams due to small hurdles.

I too have noticed that many youngsters these days are extremely impatient and want success at once without really working hard for it ! When that does not happen they jump to another..

You shall have to go to previous page to know about it , where I have edited a post.
In the starting, when they do their work, they love it, but when they face little troubles or difficulties then their mood starts getting off and finally at one stage they collapse.

There are such people who commit themselves too easily without doing any evaluation before taking the plunge! It does display lack of conviction on their part .
