Looking at the problem dispassionately - the ultimate solution lies in a negotiated settled within the parameters of the system and his oft-repeated threats are nothing but means to extract more on the issue of corruption. Let the bill come and be passed and there is always scope for fine-tuning in the form of subsequent amendments!
It is best to have maximum consensus between ruling alliance, opposition and various civil society groups. If consensus is not possible, majority view must be respected by all. Ultimately, parliament is supreme. Mobocracy is not democracy. We have representative democracy based on party system and not neither direct democracy nor party less system as conceived and cherished by anarchist groupslike anna team and once conceived by jai Prakash Narain.
There is no need to act in hurry out of fear of the anarchist groups. It cannot be said that presently, we have no anti corruption law and machinery. Almost daily, CVC and CBI are acting against corrupt persons. Institution of Lok Pal is definitely not an incarnation of God that would bring Ram Rajya as rightly stated by veteran shiva Sena chief bal Thakre. Presently, CBI is supervised by CVC. It is proposed to bring CBI under proposed Lok pal. If done so, CVC will be superfluous. It is unfair to burden the exchequer with extra burden. It may be okay to rename CVC as LOk Pal and give some more power.
