It is not spamming. Spamming is something which has the objective of promoting one's business irrespective of the interest of other visitors. Spamming includes but not limited to posting vulnerable links as well.

I think this is because members try to add up points only at the end of the month to reach the threshold of 2000 points.

I think earning point is not a reason. I seen that member participation on Saturday decreased that may be on reason.
