I'm in full agreement with what you said. Though I cannot speak Tamil I can understand. Sun TV is not new to me. Occasionally I view it. And about Siddha cure also I know. It's a  traditional medicine originated in TamilNadu. Power of Technology is boundless. Those who use it for their advantage will be benefited in a big way.

Majority may understand Hindi to some extent, but majority do not speak Hindi. Entire Southern India speak in their own languages but not Hindi.

Though my mother tongue is Bangla, English is my academic language, still I would prefer Hindi to be the national language of India. It's because From my childhood I had studied Hindi in school and certainly it served as the best communicative language with my friends because a very few students were Bengali and English was always considered to be a foreign language. Thus, now when I am fully conversant in all the three languages I have mentioned above then I am not ready to learn any new language. For me, Hindi suits the best because it's the language for the majority of Indians.

Hindi is basically India's official language, it's because the number of Hindi speaking people is higher than any other language speaking people in our country. The central government has opted Hindi for its official purpose. Somehow, it has been interpreted that Hindi is our national language but constitutionally that's absolutely wrong.

With the success of Bang Bang (though received bad response from critics), chances are that we can see more such remakes than fresh scripts. As fresh scripts became scarce nowadays, nowadays Bollywood filmmakers are mostly adapting other movies, whether it's Hollywood or south indian movies. A less risk way of business to earn more, which harms Bollywood a lot in long term. Remake Success mantras of brainless south indian masala entertainers (most suited for Salman Khan) or Hollywood action flicks - remakes (copying) have always dominated the industry. yet we can't deny the fact that Bollywood has also presented some good remakes like Barfi, Holiday and Priyadarshan comedies in the recent times. In your opinion, which is the best one ever made on Bollywood screen. My vote definitely goes to Mehboob Khan's Mother India, remake of his own 1940 film Aurat with a new star cast. Aradhana - remake of the 1946 Hollywood film To Each His Own is my personal favourite. Which one is your favourite/favourites?

Shri Rambabu Sir, I do not know if you understand Tamil.  However, if you do, or if yhou have someone who knows Tamil and Telugu, kindly watch a health program at 8.30 AM everyday, on Sun TV.  This is all about Siddha cure and more of preventive care and cure as well.  Now, SUN TV reaches all parts of the world.  This is the power of technology, and the program is particularly helpful to the Senior Citizens who would be battling against diabetes, or pain in their legs, or respiratory problems and so on. Such is the power of technology that a whole range of sharing and caring for old people and very useful information, is now available in all languages.  Even when the parents live in old age homes, Skype has come to their rescue and this is a huge plus.  Likewise, this mobile and internet banking is actually saving a huge amount of time and money for the senior citizens who were spending money on petrol to reach Banks earlier.  Likwise it is expected that even more advances in technology will make life easier for all, including the senior citizens.  Quite apart from IT, we might as well see pressure cookers cook in three minutes, dosa machines that can make dosas in no time, and so on, as the spread of technology becomes very supreme.  And the cost is not going to be very huge, as we have seen in the case of television and a whole range of electronic goods.

Hindi cannot be and will never be, the National language of India.  When a language is declared a National language in India, it has to be appreciated that the language will have equal, but not more than, equal importance, than any other language of India.   However, the Hindi politicians, who were always self-centered like the late Charan Singh and the now incorrigible Mulayam Singh Yadav, want Hindi to totally replace English, everywhere.  Though this a stupid suggestion, they have always been advocating just this, even while sending their own children to study in the best of schools and colleges, abroad, in English.  For example, can Hindi be the first language of all communication and instruction, in West Bengal or Orissa?  So, does this mean that the Bengali or Oriyan languages are inferior?  Will this lead to unity among people? Obviously not.   The Hindiwallahs want Hindi, because it is their mother tongue.  Nothing more, nothing less. At the moment, Hindi is only one of the National languages, alongside other National languages.   So, the only solution is that there should be a three language formula, where everyone will study English, Hindi and their own mother tongue.  The mother tongue should be the medium of instruction where Hindi is not the State language.  In the Hindi States, they should learn English and another Indian language compulsorily. But this is easier said than done, as the Hindiwallahs, with all their narrow mindedness, want to study only in Hindi, and ensure that English is driven out of the country, conveniently forgetting the fact that the entire IT industry, and some of the world's best doctors and scientists and lwayers were from India, only because they knew English very well.  Hindi is of course, more widely spoken than any other language, but it can, and will never substitute other Indian languages and English.  Even if some Hindi poltician now tries to remove English, he will face his waterloo in no time.

I did not say Tamil should be declared as official language. The post asks you to come up with your suggestions with reasons..

Nothing against Tamil, but why declare it a national language?

Old habits die hard. But BJP joins hands with Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, PDP, LJP, TDP all family run parties, that is not a problem.

We are discussing about the imminent destruction, when other peaceful efforts fail.
War is an extreme form of negotiation to settle a dispute if other peaceful means fail. Destruction can be peaceful or violent. In technology we see it happening all the time. Mobiles have killed landlines, PC and laptops and cameras (Kodak has closed down),watches, CD's and so on. Progress means replacing the old. In the process people who earned from the old lose their jobs and livelihood and are put to trouble.
