It is must to do some change to make thing more interesting. Efforts are on to bring back Bodduna's original glory, may be better than the original Boddunan. Let's wait and see.

They may sound outdated to some today but if you try to go deeper they have messages worth following even today. Agreed Sunil Mahabharata and Ramayana may be novel or story for some one but indeed these are lesson who tell us way of life. Facts remain as facts, whatever people think. Mahabharata is a treatise on a plethora of good things including state craft.

You as a psychiatrist should be aware of 'Muhammad Ali Effect' named after him. Exactly. Scriptures and celebrities may be saying 1000 things. Are they really happening in this turbulent environment ?

Sofs wrote: We as a race have a inferiority complex  as a legacy of the British rule. This is of course well ingrained into our culture over the years .  The ridiculous aspect of this complex is that they are so caught up in getting a tan while we are caught up in getting it off.  The grass is always greener on the other side.  It's a wrong conception that India is a race with inferiority complex. It's the other way round. Superiority complex is the trait of Indians.

It's not necessary for all. to carry bags every time. It's the question of necessity and convenience.

I am not a service holder so at present when I go out then it's only a purse to carry my money and sometimes I keep mobile in it. It changes when I travel to another city then it's full of useful things in it.

I am comfortable in English but other than this I can manage to write in two more languages, Hindi and Bengali, but with a little bit of hitch here and there. In Hindi the problem I face is in the gender section for non-living things. On the other hand I am a Bengali who learnt the language at home and not in school or college. Thus, I have no problem in communicating verbally and can read fluently but while writing, spelling becomes a bit tough. If I get anyone who can pen down for me then I have no hassle in presenting my view on any subject.

When thinking about complexion it reminds me of my mom who once said "God backed a bread which was under backed, then he tried once more which was over backed finally he backed the perfect one the brown.

Sofs wrote: Usha, Peace is common to the king and the beggar. I guess the beggar on the street would have more peace than royalty. It is only a state of mind.. anyone can attain it. The rich wallow in fear and anxiety worrying about how to get richer and poor worry about how to make ends meet. I am sure you'll agree that everyone has problems.. some more than then others.. the choices  we make in how we approach them could define our state of mind better. Being ready to accept the situation, and working towards what can be done without worrying is the secret to peaceful living.  I agree...You need to cultivate your mind to focus on things rather than wallow in self pity and compare yourself to others who are seemingly happier or richer or whatever ! Personally , the only thing that stresses me is any mishap that may happen with my family and extended family !

The problem lies in perception. We have trouble accepting our color.. I love my skin.. its looks healthy and glows .. that is all I need.  Maybe I am midway between wheatish and dusky.. and that is who I am.

Would you consider yourself to be at peace within yourself and in your environment?  Would you consider yourself a happy person? I guess I am there.. happy and content with life .. how about you?

usha manohar wrote: Sadly although I would love to write in my local language Thulu , there is no script so the best I could do would be to write in my state language which is Kannada .I do write letters and fill forms in Kannada but I doubt if I have the proficiency to write an article .So, I will have t be satisfied with writing in English only!  It is right that we can write better in our mother tongue. But India have not single language. So it is very difficult to read  languages other than mother tongue. If you write in kannada that only people for Karnatka can read.

As long as human relations exist I have to face the struggles of the external world, its turbulence and all contradictions of life. Success in struggles in the external world and fulfillment of desires give happiness and peace of mind, which are temporary. As long as attachment is there, eternal peace within will be a mirage.    I am in total agreement. Peace within is not an individual thing. I'm happy and at peace if all my near and dear ones are happy and contented. I may be able to accept a few short comings in my own life ( after all peace also means acceptance of whatever life has in store for you) but can't see any of my loved ones suffering and struggling . In fact why just family, even friends when going through tough times causes a lot of turmoil . Emotional attachment is what comes in the way of attaining peace within and that is the only thing that stops me from saying that I'm at peace...it has nothing really to do with material gains for me..I never sweat over what all stuff I need to buy or what status I want to achieve..I am thankful for all that I have .If I get more, I'll be grateful to the Almighty and if not, I have nothing to regret.
