People save all their lives to lead a secure and good life. By the time they have saved enough they are usually past the age where they can eat , drink and be merry without affecting their health. However savings are useful for meeting medical costs by senior citizens. Whatever may be the reasons one should save or get insured to lead a hassle free life and meet contingencies.

You are right it is a sham ban. A ban should be uniform and not selective. Could there be a lobby trying to garner the drinkers to itself.

Everything is a political drama. There are now 27 five-star bars and 33 licensed clubs where liquor is allowed to serve. In addition, all the bars below 5-star category which were closed were given license to operate as Beer-Wine parlour. As such there are more than 800 beer-wine parlours in Kerala in place of low class bars. Beer and wine are also alcoholic, but with less alcoholic content. Besides, there are more than 300 retail sale outlets with extra sale counters, where liquor is sold to all class and the drunkards need not depend on any black market. So where is the ban? Only the costumes are changed; the actor remains the same.

yes garlic has many useful qualities in it, one of which i know is that it is very good for the people who is having ringworms. if we rub garlic paste in it, it will kill the ringworms

Alcohol is banned in Gujarat since 1947. But it is liberally available. Supplies come in trains/trucks from Mumbai and Rajasthan among other sources. However there is one noticeable difference. One rarely sees drunk persons on the roads. It is not a custom to offer alcohol to visiting guests, nor is it served openly in marriage receptions and parties.To that extent it is not visible and thus does not act as an attractant for a lot many persons who otherwise may get tempted. But yes those who want to drink will get it at a higher price and risk of being caught is also there. Liqour mafias are controlling the trade with alleged cooperation of law enforcing agencies. To that extent it is not working.
