It is true that we cannot blame each and every politician and name them as corrupt but by saying this I must also remind you that the percentage of corrupt politicians are more than the good ones in our country. The problems we are facing as a country and the scapegoats we are made in the name of law are all gifted to us by the power crazy politicians. They have played with the trust of the common Indians.

Shampa Sadhya replied to the topic Children should be taught about our culture.
Learning English is the need of the hour but that does not mean that those who study or studied in English medium schools are all against Indian culture or are not aware about Indian culture. Even English medium girls schools and colleges directly or indirectly expect their students to wear saree on farewell day or foundation day and so on. This is how we learn to give importance to our Indian costume. Now, when the trend setters go for western style then how can we expect the younger generation to follow the Indian style. So, it will be wrong to raise finger towards English medium schools. Indian culture has to be practised at home, school as well as the big guns must also promote it or else the youngsters will not follow the Indian culture be it the age old traditions, literature, music and many more.

No resolutions for me because I cannot tie myself within a fixed rule. I can judge what is good and what is bad so accordingly I will act but the moment I decide to do so as a rule then I really wish to break it. Thus, no New Year resolution or else it will be broken on the same day itself.

One needs to build up a strong case with all the proofs and must be ready to foil the counter questions and proofs produced by the opponents in the court. To defend oneself, one has to be prepared as double edged weapon so that he or she does not get stuck in the middle and get entangled within his/her own trap.

Unification will invite more and more trouble for the countrymen. Now, we are in a much better position. The government must work towards the betterment of the present condition and nothing extra.

You are right that drunk driving will decrease among the general people but what about the number of Salman Khans in the country who come from affluent families. They are also threat to the public and they will consume alcohol privately or in a five star hotels. The apex court must also take this into consideration.

Indian classics should be taught in our schools. It's only when the children are taught about our culture, ethos and the lives of our great leaders, they start taking pride in our country and culture.

The Supreme Court today upheld the the Kerala government's liquor policy restricting sale of liquor to five-star hotels. The apex court dismissed a batch of petitions filed by hotel bars association challenging the new excise policy which prohibits the sale of liquor and three or four star hotels. The court said the bars that were closed down in the state will not be reopened. For reducing alcoholism in India, this verdict must be implemented throughout the country. Those who use it for medical purposes may be dispensed with the prescribed quantities by the doctors with proper accounts.

The more you restrict the more attractive anything becomes , similarly Liquor will always be a sought after commodity in those states it is banned . However, public drunken display and drunk driving might come down to a great extent and to that effect the ban helps ..

You may be right that unification may be create some complication. For friendly relationship both country should be practical about Kashmir.
The only practical solution is the forget about POK and carry on as one nation with what is left of Kashmir and also make it a part of Indian nation instead of giving it a special status ..I know there are many arguments against this but the law is not written in stone !

There is no evidence at all that garlic is to be avoided during either pregnancy or while breastfeeding ..

...By the time the baby is breastfeeding, Dr. Meier says, she is accustomed to the flavors Mom eats. "If a mother has eaten a whole array of different foods during pregnancy, that changes the taste and smell of amniotic fluid that the baby is exposed to and is smelling in utero," she says. "And, basically, the breastfeeding is the next step going from the amniotic fluid into the breast milk." In fact, some items that mothers choose to avoid while breastfeeding, such as spices and spicy foods, are actually enticing to babies. In the early '90s, researchers Julie Mennella and Gary Beauchamp performed a study in which mothers breastfeeding their babies were given a garlic pill while others were given a placebo. The babies nursed longer, sucked harder, and drank more garlic-scented milk than those who had no garlic exposure.
That is some amazing information. Although in Maharashtra pregnant women and women who have delivered a baby are encouraged to eat garlic in their daily diet, of course in moderation. Garlic in food encourages milk production and also keeps flatulence and other digestion problems away from the baby and the mother.
Yes Kalyani, in fact even in my place feeding mothers are fed with a Leha made of Garlic cooked in ghee and jagery made with palm juice during the first 40 days after birth and garlic is added to almost all curries ..

Indian voter as everyone knows can be appeased by liquor and cash and of course plenty of false promises which Lalu is an expert at ! BJP on the other hand threw political diplomacy to the wind and the result was that although it got the highest number of votes , seatwise it was in the third position ! The BJp leadership need to take this as a lesson ..
