College campuses are hunting ground for politicians since they are able to manipulate young minds to their advantage and get large chunk of votes. This happens all the time and as long as it is a healthy competetion between parties I guess one can take it in ones stride but when anti national elements come in like it is happening in JNU and other universities and politicians actively encourage it, there is need to worry and try to curb this tendency right at the beginning !

Tourism requires travelling and certainly then we need means of travel. Are our buses and trains maintained properly? Low fare buses are ill maintained and even the ordinary trains are not rightly maintained. This also weakens the tourism sector.

Once the euphoria dies down I definitely would like to buy one and see for myself whether it is a hoax or good enough to use...For that price one can afford to take some risks !!

The Chief Minister of a state is responsible for everything within the state and the very fact that a CM has the audacity to show off his watch to the journalists as a show piece shows how low the government and his party have fallen to . The same week there were a dozen odd cases of farmers suicide and by now he has stopped thinking or bothering about them and more bothered about enhancing his own looks !!!!! Pathetic ! It does not matter which party one belongs the responsibility is the same for all Chief ministers , more reason to point fingers at them when they lose all dignity and sensitivity!

Students are the future of a country and so they need to voice their opinion. Yes, what is required is a right mentor who can guide them on the path that leads to a better country. Student politics is not new but they should not be misguided. Even the students played important role in our Freedom Struggle. A link for you:

Many of the issues raised by @MGSingh are relevent if tourism in India has to grow. The temples are generally surrounded with dirty habitations and leech like shopkeepers who are pestering you to buy from them. The sanctity with which one goes is violated by the dirt and rank commercialism that one comes across. temples are used as revenue generating profit centers for their owners. Very few temples are clean and well maintained inside and outside. We tolerate all this because we are happy to have a 5 second darshan, rest we do not bother. In Rajasthan I have seen lovely havelis and forts not maintained properly, full of dirt. The staff are not at all proud of these heritages which give them bread and butter same is trueof other monuments all over the country. I have seen a ASI staff member openly urinate in Red Fort near the main structure, when all tourists including foreigners could see him. when I accosted him he grinned and said this is usual.
