In the present scenario, the procedure of imposing Dress code in clubs is meaningless.  Of course for industrial organizations and educational institutes are necessary. THE FORMER one for safety purposes and for the later for Uniformity for establishing the fact " Equality"

Ok. I understood your point of view. But do you think that such parents are not there who spy on their children ? There are cases, where parents employing students of the same class oh his child for spying.

@rambabu I meant that parents and guardians must be watchful regarding their own behaviour. I am never in favour of spying the children rather I believe in building trust. @chinmoymukherjee I loved the way you presented your opinion. I am also of the view as @usha manohar that teachers have to build a great reputation to earn respect but some children are far more aggressive and taming them softly becomes a real task. Sometimes spanking works but that does not mean one has to be inhuman.

A simple example I want to cite here is when students go for inter-school competitions then there are some teachers who do not allow those participants an extra day or two to complete their work rather they speak abusively, mark their assignments as late submission and what not. This is highly unacceptable but you can do nothing because in school teachers are the authority. The students pay respect to those teachers who are considerate and I believe that they must be understanding. The students could not complete their work because they were on duty for their school only and that must be taken care of.   This behavior of teachers mirrors their ignorance and intolerance. They have biased and one sided views which they force on the tolerance. The example you cited on Sports is a standing example.

Dress code is observed during get-together in most clubs or else they have casual wears..However, we cannot question them, all that can be done is to extend the dress code to include traditional Indian wears along with the formal suit and tie ! But what is offensive is barring Indians from entering certain clubs and resorts. We had one here at Om beach in Gokarna where a private club run by an expat Britisher was not open to all Indians ( except on invitation)  but all foreigners were free to visit it .There were many protests after which there have been some changes

I feel in place of trying to influence the viewers, the participants should try to influence the the members who are participating in the Debate. This aspect is completely forgotten. Inability to convince the other participants leads to ugly situations.

Creating confidence in students is very essential in a teacher. This trait in a teacher helps in avoiding ugly arguments and hostile atmosphere. Such teachers are respected. Such teachers can pave the way for mutual trust between the teacher and the students.

There are different clubs for different purposes. Most of these clubs are Recreational clubs. They range from Gambling to family meets and sports etc. What is the idea behind a dress code for a gambling Club. What is the Idea behind fixing a dress code for Get together ? Here, in my place there is a club called Waltair Club established during British Rule. Now, in tune with the present days waived off all the dress code system.

Chinmoy, It is a fact that today's youngsters are a intelligent lot and as vijay rightly pointed out they are not afraid to express themselves often challenging the staff and teachers with their knowledge. I have seen that such a situation makes the teacher (who is skating on thin ice because more often than not he or she has no ready answers) ask the student to shut up and ask them to mind his/her manners before talking back to the teacher .. Instead if they frankly admit that they are interested in what the student says and asks the student to explain themselves , also alternatively admit that since you are not aware of all the facts, would get back the next day with more information , you could probably be on their side rather than make them feel inferior and also stop the process of fact finding from their side.

That is a valid point that you are make here.  A club has  a defined group with a defined set of activities and it may have a dress code suited to its activities.  Follow it or leave it .. the choice is left to the individual concerned.

Everyone of us grow and evolve as writers over a period of time. You could have undertaken some tasks or processes to improve your writing over the years. What has helped you the most? I will start by sharing my experience. I have been greatly helped by doing these things I have listed below.. Just writing and writing more has helped me improve my writing skills. Reading and observing styles of writing of other authors. The use of a thesaurus to add more vocabulary. Ensuring that there are no grammatical issues by reading aloud and using a word processor Editing and re-editing content I have written. Research of connected literature, logical presentation etc.. These specific tasks have helped me improve my writing skills over a period of time. What are those specific tasks or processes you have undertaken to help you improve your writing?

I am neither a knee-jerk alarmist nor a dreamy optimist. Our understanding of a problem has to be ideally tempered by objectivity and acute awareness of ground realities. Our society is in ferment as far as visiting and revisiting our moral values are concerned. If a house is on fire, could its bedroom be safe? I am not to promote rowdy conduct of students but those gloss over the sociological context of it,badly fail in missing the larger point. As Manoj has aptly alluded.Similarly Usha has taken a very balanced view of things.Respect has to be earned ,not commanded at gun point!

We go to work with a uniform prescribed by the management of the organization. This dress code made mandatory keeping the work place hazards in view. Here safety of the individual is important Not the culture. If a workman works in a factory wearing loose hanging traditional dress like Sherwani, he's bound to become a victim of a fatal accident. if i go to a recreation club to play Tennis in my factory uniform, you are likely to fall down. Wisdom lies in striking a balance between the suitable conditions and unsuitable conditions.

TV debates are not school or college debates and the two can not be compared. Heated arguments are common in free for all debates. When there is a clash of ideologies friction does generate heat. They are trying to influence the viewers. When TV channels were not there then heated debates used to take placein coffee houses and clubs etc. The young also have to grow in the society they live and they are perfectly capable of forming opinion themselves, Elders often forget their growing up days.

Today students have alternatives to getting education only from schools. They can go to coaching classes and learn. They can go to internet and also get knowledge. So a class teacher is under competition. If they are not up to standard knowledgewise or conductwise students will not respect them. Today's children are not afraid.

Professionalism is fine up to a point but knowing that the client is a hardcore criminal then how does a qualified person have only one track mind that he is in legal profession and is doing his/her job. He/she is a human being too. We all know that the judges are human beings and to err is human so they may pass a wrong judgement on the basis of false witness. Who will be the sufferer? There has to be a sense of social responsibility and not just take it as a mean to increase bank balance.
