I really like the person's attitude.. Its going to take him places, its better to do menial jobs than to be without one - I think he said.
I agree there are those with fake degrees and those that work really hard. Unbelievable news, yet true.

Sofs replied to the topic Why students are so disrespectful towards their teachers at present?.
I have come across teachers who have filled me with admiration at the same time inspired me to reach greater heights, it is educators like these that we look up to and respect.
However, respect should not depend on this alone. Don't we respect our parents even though they are not perfect or well educated?
We need to respect them also for what they do. My personal opinion of course.

My be you are right, because Bihar and U.P. are famous for fake degrees. I have seen in various news channels about how board papers are conducted in these states. But there are people who really worked hard and still are not getting job.

The club owners would run into steep loses if they let them in. They would come in and disrupt everything there while demanding that all services come to them free of cost.
Closed club membership keeps unwanted trouble out.
LOL, you can imagine what would happen if they had free access ...The problem started when Bangalore club cited the same reason of closed membership to keep a politician out and other clubs to did the same ...Now they want to change the law !

In U.P. for 368 peon posts, 23 lakh applicants have applied.Among applicants there are Btech., Bsc, Msc, PHd degree holders.
If PHD holders got selected for the post, then their boss may order them as, "Dr. X please clean the table, Dr. Y please bring some water for me".

@vijay @usha manohar
Though I am not working at present, I used to follow the same rule. No one can have all the knowledge so accepting the fact to the students is never humiliating. Confess the truth, take some time from them and later explain them is the best possible method to earn respect. Even, I do the same at home with my 13 year old boy.

Yeah as you reaffirm - practice makes perfect. There is nothing like getting on the ground and learning the skills yourself.
Curiosity of mind does open our minds to wider range of subjects, I agree.
Is there a way to present it in point format. It doesn't seem to work on the start a discussion box, though it works fine here.

usha manohar replied to the topic Shouldn't legal professionals have some moral responsibility towards society?.
In fact if no lawyer is forthcoming to take on the case of a hardened criminal , the court normally appoints one to defend him because the law says he is innocent until proven guilty. We have had cases in our country where a few people were in prison for 30 years and were let out because there was either no evidence or because they were found innocent after some hidden evidence came into light ! So everybody is entitled to a defence even if the case is water tight like it was in the case of Nirbhaya...

Neem is capable of curing many ailments. That's why it has been described in Ayurveda as a " Cure all" plant.

When I do so I have observed it creates a favorable impression and class behaviour also improves. Today's students are not so teacher dependent for knowledge as was te case say 10-15 years ago. Teachers have to now earn respect rather than rely on an oudated traditional manner.
Teachers should be in touch with the latest developments in winch they are teaching. Now with the advent of internet, avenues of learning are increasing. Students keen on updating their knowledge can make a surprise a teacher who is not comparatively not in touch with the current knowledge.
