As the fake degrees are concerned these are available in all states of India including Hariyana and Karnataka.  Very true, people looks for government jobs whether it is post of peon or some other. One entered into government job they feel guarantee of job security for life time. If some peon has link to politicians they will not afraid of anyone, they show that if they are the owner of the institute where they are working and they can do anything they want.

Not only you. everybody in the society is uncomfortable with the lack of respect in general from the younger generation. The solution for this is again rests with the parents. Because every habit good or bad starts from the home.

Taxes are revenue generating tools. Government cannot avoid them or completely abolish. What you intended to say is quite clear. If one feels the amount is too high, they can travel by Buses operated by respective state governments. The toll tax will be shared by all the bus travelers, which will be less comparatively.

Oh yes totally, I love shopping and do find it relaxing. But more than the malls and supermarkets, I like to go shopping in the local markets, especially a very very large market in Pune called Gultekdi, which is a wholesale market for all kinds of stuff, groceries, vegetables, fruits etc. At least once in a month I and my husband like to go there. Browsing around the vegetables and fruit stalls is very soothing and relaxing and one gets to see quite colorful people as well.

There is no problem for applying on Line. Cyber cafes are aplenty.. Even in remote regions computer ant facilities are available. Even if the applicant is less qualified can request somebody to apply for the post online.on his behalf.

We have all agreed that we do not have a problem with tolls per say.. Let me once again restate my point - it is the amount, the kind of service and the difficulties that take a toll on us.  We are taxed for everything we buy and every service we make use of.  Its is unfair to charge so much for poor service and keep on adding to the burden.

May be those who are less qualified have gone to computer centers or E-mitra available in their area. These days almost all government jobs need to be applied online.

Whether one admits or not, the fashion Industry is big business and it is feeding thousands of people, and  they are all not fools because to succeed anywhere in life you need to be smart and intelligent too .. People run after success and that's what makes them run after celebrities, follow their style etc etc. I myself used to read film magazines when I was in college and I still love to go through old magazines called Film India which is mostly in black and white , which closed shop in the sixties I guess , that I cam across in my ancestral house. They are very interesting and gives you an insight into what celebrity life was then !

@Manoj,  another point you will have to consider is that these people were asked to apply online. My take is that  those people  who have minimum qualifications may not have the infrastructure  or the skills to apply online.  There more educated would be the ones to have access to it.   There is a flaw in the system considering the level of post itself.

vijay wrote: The rapidly expanding education sector often compromises on the quality of recruitment standards to fill their vacancies to keep the classes running. Such teachers complain of lack of respect by students when they are deficient themselves. The reservation system again is  to be blamed here. In all the government run schools there is reservation quota for teachers, most of whom fail to reach the quality mark. Even in colleges, the story is the same. I have had my own share of good and bad teachers both in school and college. The good ones, I still remember, in fact, me and my other college friends take efforts to get in touch with the retired teachers who inspired and motivated us to do well, they not only taught us the subjects, but the values of being a good person. The bad ones, one teacher in [articular stands out in my mind glaringly, a chemistry professor from reserved quota, who could not answer our doubts and instead told us to leave the classroom. That was in first year, and the result was I lost interest in the subject and never returned to it! So I agree that , like everything else, respect too has to be earned by keeping themselves at least one step ahead of the students.

I am neither a knee-jerk alarmist nor a dreamy optimist. Our understanding of a problem has to be ideally tempered by objectivity and acute awareness of ground realities. Our society is in ferment as far as visiting and revisiting our moral values are concerned. If a house is on fire, could its bedroom be safe? I am not to promote rowdy conduct of students but those gloss over the sociological context of it,badly fail in missing the larger point. As Manoj has aptly alluded.Similarly Usha has taken a very balanced view of things.Respect has to be earned ,not commanded at gun point!

Our politicians will do anything to get what they want. I guess we need to bear a part of the blame even electing them. I can just about imagine the chaos they and their thugs would cause.  I guess this is a pointer to why clubs have certain restrictions, dress code being one of them.

Chinmoy, It is a fact that today's youngsters are a intelligent lot and as vijay rightly pointed out they are not afraid to express themselves often challenging the staff and teachers with their knowledge. I have seen that such a situation makes the teacher (who is skating on thin ice because more often than not he or she has no ready answers) ask the student to shut up and ask them to mind his/her manners before talking back to the teacher .. Instead if they frankly admit that they are interested in what the student says and asks the student to explain themselves , also alternatively admit that since you are not aware of all the facts, would get back the next day with more information , you could probably be on their side rather than make them feel inferior and also stop the process of fact finding from their side.
