In my views it's the duty of parents, the children and schools to guide properly and let the people decide for themselves. More you ban, more people find it tempting and go for banned items. Let them experience the realities of life, they will know themselves what is good or bad for them. How can you permitting manufacturing and increase excise duty and other taxes, increase number of shops of liquor and yet try to decrease use. Here age is not in question as more than 50% consumers are in the age group of 18-30 years.

The temple you referred is Chikur Balaji temple near Hyderabad. Many who want to settle abroad visit this temple for getting a Visa sans hassles. I too visited this temple. But not for Visa. For sketching the temple.

I quoted this example of AP. Because I'm living in AP and  well familiar with the situation. It implies, that such conditions are there in every state.

I have my doubts that this will be another case which will be burried under the files and all will be well in the end. Just like police records, IT department too maintain  records. It's essential for their records to show how any raids were conducted. That's all, there ends the matter. We all know where all these records ultimately land. The Cold storage.          No Rambabu it is not true that IT department doing all these for their records. Is most case IT department charge tax and penalty but it cann't file any criminal case. Indeed total system is corrupt. Where we keep hand there is pain. Agreed. Seeing the present trend in solving the corruption cases, one is likely to doubt the the system of Law enforcing  and the judiciary. Many corruption cases are getting adjournment after adjournment for years and years. That was exactly my point, they will impose some taxes and allow the culprits to continue their business. True. Many corruption cases are still lying unattended and unsolved since decades. And I'm sure these cases will remain in the same condition forever.

Lopamudra wrote: suni51 wrote: Lopamudra wrote: My personal opinion is that there should be a ban. 25 was better because young people do get into drinking and more so under peer pressure. If there is a ban, it may not be possible to stop drinking at young age completely but people would be weary, otherwise it is a free pass. Social drinking is a norm but the younger lot do not know where to draw a line and then they get into all sorts problems like drunken driving, misbehavior and so on. Although older people are also prone to such problems but after a certain age they are responsible for themselves whereas when they are young they just ruled by external influences.   Ban is no solution to any problem. There is a blanket ban on drinking in Gujarat but the drinks are available on demand (in black market) and I have seen minors boozing in every state. The need is to ban the alcohol at manufacturing level and tighten the role of watchdogs.     Possibly. But at least kids(most if not all)would be weary of the consequences of boozing. Many may not want to venture into what it may lead to if they are caught. Ban may not be able to stop the problem but it will reduce it. True. a blanket ban will not help. We have seen what happened when a ban was imposed on tobacco based products like cigarettes and Gutkha, These are available freely everywhere now.

Avoiding verbal exchanges is a right solution. Allow yourself for brief period for staying cool. This time break may bring a change in you and the other person. This settles the matter in an even way.

At last, yesterday after  some changes in the placement of my paintings and removing some paintings hung on my drawing room wall, I could manage to strike a balance in keeping the aesthetics  in tact. Now the job of planting in the bottles remains. I do it in a short span of time.

Actually, it is our age old practice that we always want our children near us and so it becomes difficult to adjust to the situation when our children are not nearby. Though we want our children to succeed, we fail to cope up with their schedule. This we need to learn and many problems can be controlled very easily.

I  used to drink very little water but at present I try to drink almost twelve glasses of water. Well, sometimes I forget to drink but then I try to compensate by drinking in a quick succession.
