rambabu replied to the topic Remembering Mahatma Gandhi..
True. His honesty and simplicity are well known. I remember his resignation from the minister ship when he was the Railway minister and he took the whole responsibility for a Rail accident. How many such ministers who believe in amassing their wealth now can dare to to resign from such a lucrative minister ship, these days. ?
Fortunately , i have seen in some states including AP paying homage to Shastri Ji also along with Gandhiji.

There are many things about Shastri that make him a tall leader ..Coming from a family of teachers he gave his all including his life to the nation !!!

MG Singh created new article Politics of Cow Slaughter: Should it Lead to Murder?.
The cow is a symbol of peace and tranquility in Hinduism. It is closely identified with Hindu thought and lore. Having written this, I will add that many Hindus really have no feelings for a cow and tens of them roam the cities and villages of India uncared and destitute. In addition a little known fact that needs to highlighted is that beef, the meat of the cow is exported under the government aegis and earns precious foreign exchange. As per the latest figures available India has displaced Brazil as the largest exporter of beef in the world.
The above information is disconcerting and likely to shock readers. It is more shocking that a Muslim man was lynched to death for allegedly selling and eating beef. This, just 60 km from the national capital, Delhi. This death in the background of beef exports and unrestricted sale of this commodity in North East India, Goa and some other states points to a failure of the political class to forge a national identity. In fact the charge that they are damaging the fabric of Indian unity is true and needs to be condemned.
The politics of the cow has overtaken India. The fact that cannot be negated is that India is not a Hindu Rashtra and the constitution advocates a secular republic. This fact in issue, that in India support of a particular religious concept like killing of a cow and its eating cannot be enforced flows from the constitution. Practically there is open sale of beef in Kerala and Goa and also in the North East States. In addition, there is no ban on any type on beef in Utter Pradesh. In the light of this a mob led by Hindu fanatics thought it fit to lynch a Muslim man to death. It appears the a call was given from the local temple and a mob collected and carried out this crime. It was a mob attack and there was no explanation asked for from the victim. This I am afraid shows an intolerant society and more, is likely to inflame passions further. Now the millions of people eating beef in the tribal communities and minorities in Goa and Kerala will feel they are not part of the main stream of India. This killing is likely to endanger the fabric of national unity.
The culprits in the sorry episode are the Hindu fanatic organizations like VHP and RSS. The BJP is the third leg of this stool and acts that award 5-10 years RI for killing a cow in some states like Haryana and Maharashtra are not in consonance with the Indian constitution. The President should have withheld approval of these acts and declared them ultra vires of the constitution.
I wonder whether the Hindu organizations realise that there are more pressing problems in India than cow slaughter. There is hunger and lack of education and drinking water. More than 60% of the population has no access to basic sanitary facilities. Yet these organizations are harping on cow slaughter and lighting a fire that may in due course destroy the Indian state. The fact that there is a sizable Muslim population cannot be ignored.
The culprits in this lynching need to be punished, but action is called for against the Hindu organizations fanning the flames of communal politics.

MG Singh created new article Modi is Missing the Bus of Knowing What is the Role of Military Power.
Narendra Modi appears to be doing all the right things on the world stage. He is now on his second visit to the USA and has also interacted with the American president for a record 3 times. But I have a feeling that he is missing the wood for the trees. He like Nehru is unaware that economic power and world standing in the comity of nations depends a lot on military projection of power. One has only to see how China is forging ahead by positioning an aircraft carrier off the coast of Syria along with Russia. It is also building airfields on small islands in the China sea as well as letting their submarines roam in the Indian Ocean. It is in a strategic partnership with Pakistan and Russia as well. The crucial factor is morale, which appears to be high of the Chinese army. Morale is the single factor that propels an army forward, be it the US armed forces or Russia.
In contrast the Indian leadership from the time of Nehru is playing with the morale of the armed forces and as things stand, my information from sources is that morale of the Indian army and other services is ebbing. The one single factor that has affected this morale is non approval of One Rank One Pension in the concept as agreed by 2 parliaments and the Koshiari Commission appointed by parliament. This has led to an agitation, which is still going on. It is sad that the ex servicemen have to resort to this agitation to secure a legitimate demand. Can one think of any nation in the world where such an agitation by ex soldiers goes on for months and the government sits like the Sphinx ?
I hope readers will understand that morale is a quality that is ingrained in a fighting man. Also bear in mind that serving soldiers have a umbilical cord with the retired personnel and when they see their peers agitating its bound to affect the fighting man. You cannot have an army or air force fighting at its peak efficacy when their seniors are sitting and asking for what is already accepted.
The governmnet under pressure from the RSS did sanction OROP, but it was a hollow action and the essence of what OROP needed to be approved was negated. One cannot understand how anyone can not understand that morale is very very important and by not sanctiong OROP and allowing the agitation to go on for almost 90 days does no credit to Modi. I wonder if he realises the damage that this agitation is inflicting not only on the armed forces but on india's standing in the world as a military power.
I have just returned froma conference in Chicage and I am pained to inform the readers that most men in uniform in the USA were aghast as to how a government cannot grant a legitimate demand. The effect outside is bad and our enemies like China and Paksitan will be rubbing their hands with glee. Modi has committed a cardinal blunder and like Nehru may have to pay a terribl price. You cannot build a castle on sand and economic progress sans military power which is related to morale has no meaning.

Reena created new article Juice Fasting: Detox Diet.
India is a religious country and each religion teaches the aspect of fasting on special occasions like festivals or on certain religiously important days. There is a scientific reason behind fasting. Main aim of fasting is to give rest to the digestive system. Our digestive system works continuously around the clock. We now a days have developed wrong eating habits and as per that we prefer to eat our dinners during late night hours and then immediately go to bed. We may rest during these hours but our digestive system do not get to rest. Even while we are sleeping, our digestive system is busy in breakdown of the food we ate. Digestion slows down in sleeping position and thus excess of pressure is exerted on our digestive system. Thus, it is often advised to finish our dinner at least 3-4 hours before our bed time. During fasting, nothing is consumed. In certain kinds of fasting fruits are allowed whereas in other kinds, milk is allowed. Pattern of fasting is been destroyed today. Along with milk and fruits, many other food stuffs are been consumed today. This cannot be called as fasting and this kind of fasting does not exert any positive effect on our body.
Juice fasting is an actual effective scientific method of fasting which is beneficial for both body and mind. In this type of fasting, only juices of fruits and vegetables can be used including green leafy vegetables. Many scientific researches has been done regarding this type of fasting and it has been proved that it is very beneficial for the whole body system.
Main aim of juice fasting is to give rest to the body particularly digestive system which in turn will facilitate good health. Our body is home to various microbes. All these microbes, toxins and other foreign bodies get washed away from body when we subject ourselves to juice fasting. Juices obtained from fruits and vegetables are easily digestible as they does not contain any pulp and skin or peel in it and thus digestive system does not have to work on its digestion. It gets easily digested and nutrients are thereby mixed in blood and gets circulated throughout the body system. Within half an hour duration the whole of the juice been consumed gets digested. Nutrients obtained from juices increase immunity of body and build up defense system. Most of the juices are alkaline in nature and thus this enable to decrease acidic content of blood. Thus, we need to use this juice fasting and get blessed with its maximum benefits. Juices replenish and provide all the essential nutrients essential to prevent diseases and that too without making any effort.
During juice fasting, toxins present in body starts burning up and this produces excess of heat in the body. Although body also has accumulated fat and carbohydrate stores but first it removes out harmful toxins from it. This is because although excess of vitamins, minerals and enzymes are present in juices, it contains only small amount of elements that provide energy to the body. During juice fasting, accumulated wastes when start burning up, body automatically gets sufficient heat and energy. Unwanted harmful toxins present in body are excreted through urine, skin pores and lungs. During initial days of juice fasting, patient may experience certain symptoms like darkening of urine, halitosis, excess of sweating etc..... Within few days, all these symptoms disappear and body gets purified completely. Halitosis disappears, color of urine returns back to be of normal color and sweating occurs normally.
Juice fasting is completely safe and should be practiced for health benefits. It is even recommended to do water fasting for 2-3 days before going on juice fasting. This will yield greater benefits. Patients thinking of observing juice fasting in order to cure their ailments should first take proper prescription from their physician. As per the disease they are suffering from, physician or dietitian will ask patients to pick those selected fruits and vegetables. Consumption of juices of those particular fruits and vegetables will help them to get rid of their disease at earliest. During initial days of juice fasting only small amount of juice has to be consumed. Its amount has to be increased gradually. During first day with a duration of three hours 250 ml of juice has to be consumed. This can be done 5 times in a day. Thus, first day a person will be consuming, 1250 ml of juice. On second day each time 300 ml juice has to be taken. Start day early with first portion of juice been taken at 7 a.m. Last portion should be taken by 7 p.m. Amount of juice has to be increased gradually. Thus, after 8 days a person with good digestion will be able to drink more than 600 ml of juice every single time and in total would be able to consume 4-5 liters in a day. If one experiences fullness in stomach after consumption of juice then it indicates amount of juice been consumed is more. Immediately in such conditions, amount of juice has to be decreased. A person whose digestive system is strong enough and can drink more and more amount of juice should increase the intake of juice from 5 times to 7 times and should thereby reduce the interval between two intakes.
Juice fasting can be continued till 1-2 months. During this period person may complain of halitosis, swelling of gums, stomach ache, headache, insomnia, body pain, fever etc.... These symptoms arise as a lots of harmful toxins and foreign bodies are been removed from the body. Thus, one need not get tensed regarding these symptoms. Some may experience weight loss, however this is very temporary. When one starts eating back the lost weight will be regained. Body stores lots of water. Excess consumption of salt in our diet helps to store the water in our body. Once we are on juice fasting, salt consumption is avoided. Thus, lots of water weight will be lost from the body and a person will feel lighter. However, this loss is only temporary. Thus, over weight individuals adopting juice therapy or juice fasting for weight loss should not do it as they will regain the whole weight once they return back to normal eating. Juice fasting is purely to improve health.
Rules To Be Followed During Juice Fasting:-
Complete rest is essential. A person should rest as much as possible. Early morning brisk walk for small duration is beneficial.
An evening walk of small duration and short distance can also be done.
No such physical activity should be carried out which exerts excessive pressure on body.
Work should be done calmly and with complete peace. Hassle should not be made. Stress and tension should be kept at bay and one should always remain happy.
Complete belief should be kept on juice fasting and one should not develop any sort of negative thoughts and feelings towards results or health benefits about to be derived from juice fasting.
Tea, coffee, smoking, alcohol, ice-cold water should be avoided.
The methods by which juice fasting has to be ended is also very important. Success or failure of juice fating totally depends on the kind of life style one adopts after completion of juice fasting. If fasting is not ended properly and at right time, then its aim and purpose does not get fulfilled. All the efforts one has been putting in goes in vain. On the day of which one has decided to end fasting, number of juice intake should be decreased. On that day juices has to be consumed only three times. One in the morning, next in the afternoon and third portion in the evening. In between intervals, one should consume fruits which are rich in fiber. On next day, consume fruits along with boiled vegetables which are free of spices and salt. On third day along with fruits and vegetables, one can consume dry fruits. On fourth day start eating sprouts and cereals. Thereby gradually quantity of food intake has to be increased and a person should start having healthy balanced nutritious diet. During and after juice fasting a person feels really healthy as all the toxins are excreted from his body. To maintain this health obtained from juice fasting, person should follow balanced diet and continue to drink juices on daily basis.
Following Rules Have To Be Followed While Ending Juice Fasting:-
One should be happy and peaceful as each and every thought exerts effect on our body.
Immediately after ending juice fasting, do not start eating lots of solid foods. Increase their quantity gradually by each day.
Maintain an interval of few days between ending of juice fasting and getting back to normal eating.
Amount of food consumed should be increased gradually. Do not start abrupt eating.
Anything consumed should be chewed properly.
Even after juice fasting is ended, continue consuming juices regularly.
In this way by complete dedication, by inculcating discipline and by following proper method of juice fasting, one can derive maximum health benefits from it. It is a technique which should be followed every now and then to maintain health, strengthen our immunity system and to get rid of illness and ailments.

Reena created new article Juice Therapy: A Boon For Good Health.
Need For Juice Therapy:-
In today's world, there are tons of diseases affecting both physical as well as mental health of human beings. With the discoveries of new diseases, there follows extensive research leading to invention of new medicines. Modern scientific research teams all around the world have been doing research and inventing more and more medicines which enable the treatment of various diseases. However, sometimes these medicines fail to produce desired effects. Even in those critical times, one can derive enormous benefits by following natural care therapies like adopting a proper balanced diet. By incorporating more and more amount of fruits and vegetables in diet and by following a juice therapy, one can see excellent effects on their health. Each and every medicine has its own side effects. Whereas these kinds of natural treatments neither bring with them any sort of side effect nor are very expensive. Incorporation of more and more amount of raw fruits, vegetables and juices improve overall health and treat disorders of the body bringing a remarkable improvement in acute and chronic diseases.
Right from early age one should adopt healthy eating habits. Consumption of more and more amount of raw foods, vegetables including green leafy ones and juices made out of fresh fruits and vegetables fulfill most of the nutritional needs. No sort of disorder will develop in that person who takes care of his health in a proper manner. A person is what he eats. Healthy nutritional foods present in plenty in lapse of mother nature will bless everyone with good health. On the other hand, unhealthy eating habits will definitely deteriorate health and openly invites thousands of ailments. One who is already suffering from ailments can also start making slight changes in their diet under the prescription of their doctors or dietitians. Within few days they too can see remarkable difference in their state of health. These kind of patients are to be prescribed with special juicing therapy which is based on the kind of ailment they are suffering from. Even serious ailments like cancer can be very well treated by juice therapy provided patient shows some discipline in following it. Lots of juices extracted from raw vegetables along with green leafy ones are given to cancer patients. When consumed in timely manner and in proper amount their cancer is seen to be treated very effectively. Diseases of urinary tract and other kidney related diseases can be very well treated as well as in fact more effectively when patient is subjected to fruit juice therapy rather than kept on modern medicines. In the same way, gout can be treated if patient regularly consume cherry juice.
Thousands of experiments have been done and result shows that right diet slows down aging. No anti aging cream or any sort of cosmetic treatment can bring the desired effects when compared to eating right and following a balanced high nutritional diet. Raw foods like sprouts, vegetables, lots of fresh fruits help to remove toxins from the body and blood. These food stuffs are rich in vitamins and thus bring a glow on the face. On the other hand, fried unhealthy food items clog pores resulting in pimples, acne, untimely wrinkles, not sufficient protection from sun resulting in sunburns and many more such skin related diseases. Even with two to three days of juice therapy, one can notice pinkish glow on face. Acne seems to get treated along with disappearance of blemishes and dark under eye circles. Fine lines gradually disappear and one can enjoy a fairer glowing skin. No beauty treatment is as effective as natural therapy. Today we all complain of hair loss and spend thousands on shampoos, conditioners and other expensive hair treatments. Whereas root cause is our wrong eating habits. Our untimely and wrong eating habits, our unhealthy life styles etc.....lead to stress which is the main cause for hair loss, premature greying of hair and baldness. Along with expensive hair treatments, any hair expert will also prescribe expensive medicines which have to be taken for certain period regularly. These medicines are nothing but a capsule full of vitamins and essential minerals which we can easily derive in plenty from nature if we eat required amount of fruits and vegetables. In this way, slight changes in our diet can easily solve not only our health related problems and concern but also saves lots of money.
There is no medicine which does not bring with it some sort of side effects. Certain medicines have lots of side effects where as others have a few. But none of them is free from any negative effect. In order to treat these side effects, doctors prescribe some more medicines and thereby the cycle never stops. Excessive drug dosage only brings harm to the body system. Ailment may get cured but it weaken the whole system. However, natural therapies like juice therapy is free from any sort of side effects. It only brings with it goodness and richness of lots of fruits and vegetables. Even if consumed in excess does not create any ill-effects. Vitamin tablets if taken in excess dose can result in hypervitaminosis. Juices no matter how well packed they are with lots of vitamins and minerals will never cause any harm and thus there is no risk of over dosage. Juice therapy if followed is not only free from any risk but is also completely safe and effective. It keeps a healthy person always healthy and brings back health to a person suffering form disorder of any kind or a disease which is completely weakening his immune system. Juice system thereby strengthens his immunity and brings improvement in his overall health.
On a daily basis numerous body and blood cells get destroyed. Food plays an important role as it provides nutrition to the body which will enable replenishment of lost cells. If this food consumed is rich in nutrition which is obtained from raw foods, fresh fruits and vegetables then this replenishment takes place rapidly. This kind of nutrition is important to keep a person healthy but in fact more essential to patients suffering from various diseases as well as for them who are aged. Essential elements obtained from raw foods and various fruits and vegetables play an important role in maintaining balance between amount of cells destroyed and replenished. Sugar as well as other elements present in it are easily digested and gets mixed in blood. This quick process provides a kick start in the replenishment process. In unhealthy individuals, nutritional deficiencies result in delaying of replenishment process. Patients who are given enzymes externally when do not respond to treatment should be given natural fruit and vegetable juices. Enzymes present in them quickly start exerting their effect resulting in marvelous health benefits.
There are certain drawbacks of consumption of fruits and raw vegetables. They contain lots of fibers in them. Small amount of fibrous element is good for digestive system as well as for body. However, fruits and vegetables contain enormous amount of fiber in them. It poses a problem for digestive system. A healthy body and a good digestive system too has its own limit. It can only digest 35% of fruits and vegetables consumed by separating its fibers and extracting nutrition from it which is thereby circulated throughout the body. In case of old age and individuals suffering from various diseases and disorders this limit drastically decreases. Their body as well as digestive system is not very strong enough to extract nutrition from fruits and raw vegetables. Here, juices play a very important role. Thus, fresh juices extracted from fruits and vegetables including green leafy vegetables are prescribed. Body can easily digest 95% of juices consumed which is a very good amount with hardly 5% been left undigested. Digestion begins in mouth itself. In case of raw diet, strong teeth with lots of saliva, breakdown these raw fruits and vegetables there by passing on to other organs. This requires plenty of time and after going through the whole process, the consequent nutrition obtained is not as high as required. Thus, to obtain proper amount of nutrition, one needs to consume more amount of fruits and vegetables. In a day, at least 5 portions should be consumed. 2 portions of fruits and 3 portions of vegetables will help an individual to remain fit. In case of deficiencies and diseases, this portion size as well as number needs to be increased but body of a diseased person is hardly strong enough to digest so much of raw food. Irrespective of whether an individual is healthy or unhealthy, these raw fruits and vegetables have to be consumed in plenty amount to derive right amount of nutrition. To derive right amount of nutrition, it is recommended to drink fruit and vegetable juices.
It is often seen that people complain regarding taste of these juices. Fruit juices are sweet and full of taste. However, juices extracted from vegetables can be bitter, sour or sometimes plain in taste which is not very well liked by most of us. This complain can be ruled out if combination of certain fruits is tried with vegetable juices. Sweetness and aroma present in fruit will overpower other tastes and such juices will be liked by everyone as it will satisfy craving of taste buds. For example, carrot, apple, lemon juice when are mixed with juices extracted from various vegetables will really enhance the taste and mask the unpleasant taste. In this way, even the vegetables which do not amuse palate can be easily consumed in the form of juice and one can derive various health benefits from them. Fruit juices and vegetable juices should not be consumed together. It is essential to keep a difference of 3-4 hours between consumption of fruit juice and vegetable juice. Fruit juice has to be consumed by afternoon and vegetable juice has to be consumed after the noon hours or even during evening time. It is not recommended to consume fruits or fruit juices in the evening or late night as they contain lots of sugar in them which is difficult to digest. Vegetables are easily digestible and thus raw vegetables or vegetable juices can be consumed even during late evenings as they do not pose any difficulty in digestion.
Benefits Of Fresh Juices:-
Both body and blood cells formation require nutrition. In some amount body itself help in their formation. But with progress of age, this activity of body decreases. Thus in old age, diet should be such that which enables minimum effort in digestion and yields maximum nutritional benefits. Thus, diet should mainly comprise of plenty of fruit and vegetable juices. Nutrition obtained from such juices will help in replenishment of lost cells in body as well as in blood ruling out risk for any disorder.
Fresh juice is beneficial for kids as well as for growing individuals. Kids often remain deprived of nutrition. They do not eat properly and thus often suffer from early age disorder due to nutritional deficiencies which create long term chronic effects on their body. Kids as well as youngsters who are in growing age should get sufficient amount of nutrition. If they are deprived of it then they may suffer from retarded growth. Thus, they should follow a balanced nutrition rich healthy diet. Neither kids nor grown ups today know the importance of chewing food properly before swallowing. They neither know its necessity nor are aware with the benefits it imparts. Above all they hardly have any patience to chew their food. Until raw foods, fruits, vegetables are chewed many times properly, nutrition present in their skin and fibers cannot be derived completely and most of it will be left unused. If not adequately chewed, one cannot derive optimal benefits no matter how much portions of fresh fruits and vegetables they consume. Daily consumption of adequate amount of fruit and vegetable juices fulfill nutritional requirements of body. Thus, children has to be encouraged to drink juices especially till growing age so that they do not remain deprived of any nutrition. In this way, juice therapy is essential for all age groups irrespective of whether they are kids, teenagers, in their middle-ages or old age individuals.
It is always beneficial to prevent disease from occurring rather than making numerous efforts later to treat it. Prevention is better than cure. Our untimely eating habits and wrong pattern of eating has made us susceptible to numerous diseases. Young generation is following the same path. They have become slaves of their taste buds and thus this has led to unhealthy eating. Two to three decades ago, diseases and disorders which were known to occur in middle aged individuals are now occurring in early twenties and sometimes even in kids. Thus we need to strictly follow a healthy eating lifestyle and incorporate lots of raw foods like sprouts, vegetables, fruits and their juices so that younger generation too follows our footsteps and adopt a healthy living.
Juice Therapy And Sex Drive:-
Fruit and vegetable juices impart positive effect even on sexual aspect of an individual. Since age old time, our ancestors have been using different types of juices to increase sex drive. Cabbage, onion, carrot and many such vegetables are known to increase sex drive. Water melon is and its juice is very popularly used to increase libido. Both physical as well as sexual health of an individual are directly associated with his diet. Thus in order to remain healthy as well as to maintain a good sexual life, balanced nutritious healthy diet should be followed.
Now a days, people in order to improve their sexual life are getting attracted to products shown in advertisements in television and internet. They sell medicines which claim to improve sexual life of an individual. Once addicted to these sorts of medicines, an individual becomes prone to them. These sorts of medicines neither are effective nor are pocket friendly. Initially one may see slight improvement but in long run they are only known to cause harm to the body. Excessive unnecessary heat production develops in the body on their intake. Some may even develop skin disorders and stomach related disorders. In spite of all these side-effects, marketing and sale of such drugs have not been affected as people are scared and wants to take an easy way out. Advanced research has developed artificial sex hormones and doctors now a days are recommending them. These kinds of hormones should only be injected in individual in whom sexual glands are no longer active. These kind of drugs bring with them numerous dangerous side-effects.
Today science too has accepted the fact that fruits and vegetables play an essential role in an individual's sex life. Human brain contains limbic system which is known as the origin of various sensations of hunger, thirst, sexual arousal etc..... Elements present in fruit and vegetable juices is known to stimulate limbic system. Spinach, carrot, watermelon, raw mango, plums, potato, banana are all known to improve sexual performance of an individual. Banana is even known to reduce mental stress. In a person who is mentally stressed definite impact is produced on secretion of his sex hormones. Banana has large amount of potassium in it which decreases mental stress, thereby enabling adequate secretion of sex hormones. Vitamin E is also very essential which is popularly known as anti-sterility vitamin. In its deficiency a person may become impotent. It is present in plenty in raw vegetables, green-leafy vegetables, fruits, sesame seeds, wheat husk etc..... Sexual hormonal glands have to be healthy which makes sure of adequate secretion of sex hormones. Zinc is essential for its adequate health and it is found in French beans, cucumber, onion, spinach, carrot, cauliflower etc.....
Cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol and other addictions result in destruction of essential minerals and vitamins in body thereby resulting in deficiency. Juices of fruits and vegetables stops any sort of such disorder or deficiency been developed in the body and eliminate any side-effects or ill-effects.
Comparison Of Juices Of Fruitss And Vegetables :-
A question may arise in our mind that what is more important for our health. Whether it is fruit juice or vegetable juice? Research has been done and as per studies it is been proved that fruits cannot fulfill all the nutritional requirements of body whereas vegetables can do so. Fruit juices are way tastier and are easy to extract but when it comes to been healthy, vegetable juices are much more healthier than fruit juices. Fruits are full of taste and aroma. But these factors does not make them more healthier than vegetable juices. Thus, we need to consume both fruit and vegetable juices in adequate amount to derive great benefits and achieve good health. Physically healthy person can depend on fruit juices for fitness, however, kids and old aged individuals definitely require both fruit and vegetable juices.
Juices extracted from fruits purify blood by removing toxins accumulated in the body. They act like diuretics. More amount of urine is excreted from the body which helps in the removal of toxin matter thereby purifying the body. Juices of vegetables including green leafy vegetables acts in replenishment process. They help in the formation of new cells.
Person adopting juice therapy should make use of different types of fruits and vegetables. Each and every fruit and vegetable has its own specific quality. Some are rich in vitamins whereas others contain essential minerals. Thus, to get all essential nutrients in adequate amount, one should include all sorts of fruits and vegetables in one's diet.
Protein Content In Juices:-
We require protein to build up muscle and is also very essential for growth. In its absence especially during growth age, a kid can suffer from growth retardation. Thus, we carefully include sufficient amount of protein in our diet. Milk, curd, butter, cheese and other milk products, eggs are all good sources of protein. Fruits and vegetables are usually thought of not carrying any protein content in them. Thus, while adopting juice therapy or going on a juice fasting, people are concerned about fulfilling their daily protein requirement and fear of losing their muscle mass which will consequently occur due to protein depletion from the body.
Protein is very essential element required for body and plays an important role in growth. However, it is a myth that in its absence even for few days, body will start facing its deficiency. A person only requires 50 gm of protein everyday. This amount is more than sufficient for maintaining good health, for working efficiently with good energy and for been active. Non-vegetarians often feel that in absence of non-veg food they will suffer from protein deficiency. However, this is not true. One can easily obtain 50 gm of protein easily from milk and its products, nuts etc..... Thus, a balanced vegetarian diet can also very effectively fulfill all the daily nutritional requirements of a person.
It's a myth that fruits and vegetables do not contain any protein content in them. Green leafy vegetables contain chlorophyll and this is known to carry large amount of protein in it. Thus, people who eat green leafy vegetables need not worry about their daily protein requirement. Apart from green leafy vegetables, many fruits and vegetables too contain protein in them. Fruits like apple and cherry carry almost 0.2 to 0.4gm of protein every 100 gm. Vegetables which contain protein are carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, peas, spinach, onion, garlic, beetroot etc.....
We should not give more importance to protein. Only daily requirement has to be fulfilled and this can easily be done by consuming lots of fruits, vegetables, green leafy vegetables and by drinking their juices in plenty amount. Even sprouts can fulfill daily protein requirement of our body. Thus, a person who follows juice therapy neither he nor that person who eats lots of raw foods like sprouts, fruits, vegetables will face any protein deficiency. Protein obtained from natural foods like sprouts, vegetables including green leafy ones, fruits contain many types of enzymes. Thus, it gets easily digested when compared to the protein obtained from cooked food, non-vegetarian food or even milk and milk products. In this way, while on juice therapy we can remain stress free regarding our daily protein requirement and take full advantage of good health and other beneficial effects of juices.
Rules Associated With Juice Therapy:-
One should be clear regarding their purpose for which they are undergoing this treatment. It may be to achieve good health, get rid of diseases, free body from toxins, come out of long-term illness, correct disorders etc.....
Discipline should be followed. Irregular and untimely juice consumption will not yield great benefits. If done especially to get rid of fatal disease or chronic illness, it should be followed strictly with complete dedication.
Juices have to be consumed everyday regularly on same time and in correct amount.
Juice therapy should be a combination of juices of various fruits and vegetables. Patient who wants to get rid of his specific disease, should consult his dietitian and pick specific fruits and vegetables recommended by dietitian and consume their juices specifically which will help him to cure his disease at the earliest.
Juice has to be consumed fresh as soon as it is extracted so that one can get maximum nutrients and maximum benefits out of it. Juice has to be taken in slowly with a single sip every time and should not be gulped down at once.
If along with juice therapy a person wants to follow a balanced diet which includes sprouts, raw vegetables, fruits, dry fruits then he should drink juice before consuming these things as enzymes present in juices will help in the digestion of the food he eats.
Person following juice therapy should be happy and peaceful. He should not become restless and impatient. He should keep a belief in this therapy and thereby yield great benefits.
During juice therapy lots of accumulated toxins from body comes out and thus person experiences vomiting, fever, headache and many such symptoms. These symptoms are temporary and get corrected by themselves. Person should neither stop his therapy nor get tensed about all the changes he is been going through.
To get rid of toxins from body quickly, some other methods can also be followed like enema and sauna bath. More quickly wastes come out of body, less symptoms person has to face.
He should take complete rest during juice therapy.
During this period, excessive physical work and strenuous physical exercises should be avoided. However, easy yoga exercises can be done along with brisk walk for certain duration.
Juice Therapy Related Scientific Research:-
Juices as well as raw foods have excellent properties that are able to cure as well as prevent diseases. These qualities have inspired scientists all around the world to experiment on the effectiveness of these juices on various patients suffering from fatal diseases. Today research is been made in various centers and hospitals all around the world. It is been proved that raw diet helps to cure vitamin deficiency, helps in treatment of swelling of urinary bladder, also helpful in treatment of diabetes and constipation. Raw diet helps to get rid of stomach related disorders in kids, heart diseases, urinary tract diseases, obesity etc..... Another experiment was done to know the effect exerted on digestive system by both cooked and raw food. Results show cooked food is not very good for digestion and exerts lots of pressure on digestive system especially if it is fried and unhealthy whereas raw foods increases nitrogen amount in urine which is an indication that in more better and effective way body has derived essential nutrients from food.
Another experiment was done to experiment effect exerted on human body by consumption of raw food and cooked food. Results show that cooked food is responsible to cause certain metabolic disorders whereas raw food can correct these disorders and helps to cure any ailment present. Multiple sclerosis is a serious disease and difficult to treat. In Germany, thousands of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis were kept on raw diet and successfully they could get rid of their disease. Until then, no doctor could treat this dreadful disease. Today doctors are prescribing raw food diet and juice therapy to patients suffering from cancer and patients following their advice can see remarkable difference in their medical condition. Raw diet and juice therapy both are in today's world blessings for all those who wants to achieve good health. It is the simplest and easy way to achieve good health as well as maintain the same for years together.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new article Learning from the success of Indian Corporate Companies.
Some years ago, to be precise, in the year 1991, one new Prime Minister, whose name was Naramsimha Rao, did what no Prime Minsiter has ever done --- he simply opened the gates of India, to what is now famously called "globalization". One of the important steps that he took was to initiate the process of privatization, though partly of the banking, insurance, and the telecom sectors.
He had his usual enemies even in his own Congress Party. But he had one superb Finance Minister, whose name was Dr Manmohan Singh. What they did together, will now be found in business history books, if not in anything else.
For, the results are there for all to see. Look at every street corner of India, and even in the most tiny of villages with a population of some six thousand people. You will find at least one cell phone shop or a grocery dealer, who will also do what we now call "easy charge". BSNL, the State provider is far behind the likes of Aitel or Vadaphone.
Critics have all become silent -- particularly from the Communist parties. The cost of telecommunication is now down, and the landlines are now being surrendered like never before. BSNL is now into schemes to attract people to use landlines and retain them.
Cut to the main hero of this story -- a company called Airtel. With the most advanced technologies and now with the latest offering called 4G, this company is one of the Starts of the Indian Corporate World. This company has taken the entire world by storm. It has expanded abroad, and the pace of growth has been stupendous.
There are success stories elsewhere too. If we look at some success stories, we can understand where we are.
Let us look at the car industry. The market leader, Maruthi Udyog has given importance to quality, design, fuel efficiency, and has also given importance to the servic network. The rest, as we say, is history. What needs to be understood from the Maruthi story is that the customer, the Indian customer, wants a total package. He is not satisfied with just the product, because India is India. We still drive on bad roads, and with holes and we need vehicles that can bear all the wear and tear.
So, we need the Maruthi type of vehicles. However, let us not forget that another excellent company, under the leadership of Ratan Tata, its former big boss, went about giving good and tough competition to Maruthi. The company called Tata Motors, introduced a model called Indica, which had teething problems. All the problems were sorted out and the vehicle ia s roaring success. In fact, Indica now forms the backbone of the Indian tourism market, as the previous hero of that market --- called Ambassador -- is no more produced at all. The old Ambassadors will be slowly phased out, even in Kolkatta, where they are still around.
So, we also learn that there is enough scope for competitors. It is in the same market that a foreign company called Hyndai, with its plant at Chennai, has grown to have the second largest market share after Maruthi, with its own brand of good vehicles. Tata Motors is fighting out there, in the third position.
Ford, BMW, Volkswagen, Renault Nissan -- are all there too, and most of them have base in Chennai, the detroit of India. Superb emphasis on design has helped these companies survive and build their own niches.
So, being close to the consumer, understanding the peculiar conditions of the Indian market are also very important to survive in India.
In the light vehicles segment, after a huge loss of five hundred crores in one particular year, Tata Motors sunk several crores producing one of the finest vehicles India and Indian roads have ever seen -- the Tata Ace. It is advertised as the "Kutti yaanai" in Tamil, which translates into little elephant. This vehicle is now shareed autos in most roads of India, and in particular, roads of Chennai.
So, innovation in new products is also essential to survive in the Indian market. There are other innovations too. In the Small Utility Vehicle segment, Mahindra and Mahindra created history by introducing a superb vehicle called the Scorpio. This became the largest selling vehicle in its category, and since then, the same company has also introduced various other products, all of which have taken the entire world by storm.
Cut to the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, and what one can learn, is now forming a series of case studies in the best of B schools in the world. The most famous of them, is the toughest competition given by M/s Cavinkare Pvt Limited, of Chenai, to the likes of the mighty Hindustan Unilever and Proctor and Gamble. The company introduced the Chik shampoo in the sachet packet segment, and this created history of sorts. It is till today, the largest selling sachet packet product in the shampoo segment, in India.
Marico Industries, a Mumbai based company has also successfully introduced a whole range of new products. Each of these products have also succeeded very well.
So, innovation can happen in India too. In the dot com business, an Indian company called Flipkart, is now fighting it out with the likes of Amazon, the American giant, and is doing very well.
Infosys, WIPRO, HCL, and the Tata Consultancy Services have all grown from within our country, and have expanded abroad, particularly in China, which is now considered India's major competitor.
Indian companies have lived with all the laws, all the regulations, all the politicians, all the problems like irregular power supply, and have still succceeded in India, which is a stupendous achievement in itself. What needs to be understood is that the Indian spirit of entrepreneurship, is aliive and kicking. This journey to excellence is still evolving.
The whole world has become a global village, but the cost of doing business in India, is still very high. Every Indian business does raise the prices every now and then, and this is true of the multinational companies also, as they simply pass on the increased cost of doing business, to the ultimate customer.
However, with rising incomes all these problems are likely to be set right, and in the years to come, the Indian companies will continue to do well and break all barriers.
In conclusiion, it can be stated that completely understanding the Indian customer, manufacturing products that reflect such needs or wants and then making innovations have all been made possible by Indian companies. However, this success story is still on, and the learning will also evolve with the times.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new article Making this younger generation appreciate finer aspects of our culture.
We may a developing country, but we have a huge religious heritage. We do not believe that everything is based on money alone. A huge number of Indians are now more hardworking than ever before, and this is reflected in the growing number of innovations that are going on in our own country, now considered to be one of the fastest growing economies of the world.
However, increasing urbanization, spread of education, and emergence of a huge middle class has its own quota of problems, chief of which is the growing tendency of today's youth to totally dismiss anything that is not in tune with their Smartphone, Iphone, laptop, What's up and Skype culture, as "outdated".
Respect for elders, taking part in all religious functions, making spirituality an important aspect of life, dressing appropriately for all religious functions and strictly observing rituals of all communties, and the like, is now becoming a thing of the past.
The reasons are many. In their quest to provide the best for their children, in the urban areas, the rat race is on, and money making is a big exercise. The man and the woman are totally busy in their own world, and the infants often grow up in the nursing care of the third persons, often called as "ayas". These women have a significant bearng on young children who begin to understand things when they reach the age of four. The fierce independence with which they grow up, often results in an attitude of "me, my world, and no one else", and parents are totally at a loss, as to how to control such children.
The shopping malls are the utlimate expression of this firm setting of values, beliefs and attitudes. The children often demand that they need certain things, and once done, they are happy. If the parents show any resistance, all hell breaks loose.
The peer pressure is another big problem. Even middle class children tend to behave like those from rich families. Yet another problem is the huge influence of television and the social media, where crass commercializaton simply takes over.
The net result is there for all to see. This problem is not peculiar to the metros. It has spread to cities like Coimbatore, Salem, Hyderabad, Tirupathi, Madurai, Indore and just about everywhere.
It is not uncommon for mothers to be told to "mind your business" when they would request young girls, as young as twelve, to wear glass bangles or put on a particular dress, that is part and parcel of a religious function, back home in their native place. Or in a wedding. It is not uncommon for young men to say "open the bottle" even in weddings and embarass the elders.
Smoking is so common, as is making fun of young girls and pulling the legs of middle aged women.
So, what do we do?
The answers are as complex as ever.
One of the important things that should be done is to simply pack off the children to be with grandparents in their native places, during every summer vacation. Since these villages or small towns have cultures where everything is not lost, the children will learn to be more tolerant and will rub shoulders with children from other families. In a different setting, they might and will, feel the need to appreciate the finer aspects of different cultures.
The parents can also join them, whenever and wherever it is possible, to enable the children be at home, in a different culture.
Secondly, the parents should ensure that the children positively understand that life is not easy, and should be very strict in not giving the children, more money than what they need, at any point in time. This is all the more important, as attitudes get their bases firmly implanted only on the basis of money.
This "am safe" feeling often leads to arrogance, and to very bad behavior as well. The Tamil film "Paapanasam", in the recent past, was one classic, which reminded parents as to what will happen in rich families, if the child does not understand good values. The boy develops the dirtiest habbit of doing the filming of a young girl having her bath, and then threatens her that he would put that on Facebook. This is not at all uncommon. The gril concerned gives a nasty blow to the young man on his head and the guy dies. The film is simply excellent as everything was shown so subtly.
So, parents need to be very careful here. Money cannot, and will not, be the solution to satisfy today's children.
Thirdly, the parents should be careful to make it a point to constantly take the children to temples, recite all mantras, take part in religious functions and so on, right from the age of three. Simply leaving them to the care of the ayas will do no good to their future. Only this constant drill can make a difference.
This drill can be seen, even today, in many Tamil Brahmin families. The men even today, wear earrings in both ears, in many small towns, and observe all the religious rituals, even when their own children would have settled in the USA. These children, even if based in USA, recite the Rudram and Jamakkam, the ultimate form of meditation. In fact, the Americans are now learning these mantras.
Fourthly, what can be done is to have huge awareness programs on all aspects of Indian culture, in every school, and totally avoild the film music and dirty film dances, that have now gone back to crass commercialism. It should be noted that simply superb films like "Paapanasam" have also succeeded in the box office, and blaming the audiences will not work. Our cinema producers also have to wake up and do something.
Such appreciation of culture will help our children to fall back on the finer aspects of our cutlure -- tolerance, helping others, taking part in the sufferings of others and so on-- and lead normal lives.
There is nothing wrong with Smartphones, Iphones, Facebook, and the like. In fact, Facebook has infact saved hundreds of precious lives, as blood gets flown to different places. Heart transplants are increasingly going on in Chennai, and Facebook is in the thick of this transformation.
However, these should not become an obsesion with our younger generation. Parents, teachers, educationists and eveyone else needs to chip in and do something. Otherwise, the individualism will simply lead us to disaster of unimaginable proportions and the younger generation will simply disintegrate as the years go by.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new article Arresting Public unrest .
Not a single day passes, without some news about some agitation or the other. The organized sector employees are increasingly seen being restless or frustrated. This is seen among employees of organizatons such as BSNL, where the employees fear that everything will go to the private sector, sooner or later.
Even among the relatively poor sections people are becoming very restless. Whever there is a suicide of a public servant under mysterious circumstances, as in Tamil Nadu, there is a big hue and cry. Even the lapses that happen in public life, such as excesses of police, unrest among students, unruly behaviour of bus conductors or drivers, the auto drivers, or the Government employees, are reported extenmsively and there are protests on the streets.
While a portion of these protests or anger is healhy, the Government needs to act very fast and with firmness. The Government should enforce the law, even if mighty people are involved.
Such decisive action will help the public being convinced that things are moving, and their voice is being heard.
If there is massive unrest everywhere, the entire society can be in deep trouble, and the public may be put to huge disadvantage. We need to wake up and do something very urgently.
Firstly, let us make extensive use of the social media and the press, and seek the cooperation of the press, in exposiing corruption of even Ministers. Some months ago, when a public servant committed suicide, in Tamil Nadu, a State Minster was involved, and he had the cheek to declare "Everything was done with the knoweldge of Amma". What he referred to was the corruption he indulged in. He had already collected lakhs of rupees as bribe from candidates and forced a honest public servant to alter the list with his own candidates. The public servant refused to oblige the Minister, and was forced to commit suicide.
Thanks to a vigilant opposition and frank reporting by a section of the Tamil Press, the Minister was forced to resign, and was kicked out from the party post as well. He was arrested, and the case is still on. However, it will meet the fate of similar cases.
If only the Chief Minster had acted decisively, and arrested the Minster immediately, the pubvic would have praised her. Instead, there was an initial attempt to hush up the case. Only when the news became a topic of the State, the Government had no option but to react.
Even if the Government does not act, a good press, and a good social media can do the trick, as in this case.
Secondy, it is high time that right spirted individuals raise public issues and go to Court, to set the record straight. In Chennai, there is one "traffic Ramasamy" as he is affectionately called, and this gentleman is known to go to court for things that are harmful to the public. The Court has acted on several of his complaints and traffic has been regulated. He has been arrested many times, and the State Government -- very obviously --- is against him. However, we need hundreds of Ramasamys, if there is going to be any change.
Thirdly, we need to recognize that the State Governments and their poliicians will be what they are . The public have to take to the streets and this is unavoidable. What we are discussing is only some means to correct this situation. We can follow some good practices here. In Tamil Nadu, affected persons often approach the former Chief Minister, Mr M Karunanidhi. He immediately takes up the cause and the press reports it extensively. The Government is forced to react. Similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party is seen to be different, and the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr Arvind Kejriwal, is a totally honest politician. His ways of doing business and adminstration are there for all to see.
His style of functoning is worth appreciation. We need encourage debate about such good practices. Only when there is a big change, people will sit up and take notice.
Fourthly, the local press needs to change. When local politicians amass wealth, far beyond their means, the press has a duty to perform, through investigative journalism. The speed with which Mr Arun Shorie, a reputed journalist did this investigative journalism, some twenty five years ago, was a big plus. However, he is now a big politician of the BJP and things have gone nowhere. We need something like that magic to be back again.
It is only the frustration of the youth, about such matters, that is reflected in the growing unrest, and we need to understand this.
Fifthly, for inclusive growth, the Banks ought to engage with the youth, and provide them loans to start small businesses. Already, there is some improvement here, but the scaling up hs to happen. This is one of the methodologies to reduce the unrest among the people.
People have every right to ghereo elected representatives and the Government officials. However, in order that these do not become law and order problems, the elected counsilors, for example, need to be more responsible in doing their jobs.
There is every possibility that if such representatives do their jobs properly, some improvements can indeed happen.
For every positive signal, there is always a positive reaction. For instance, the Amma Canteens in Chennai, is a big hit. However, one has to do away with the corrupion and involve the Corporate Sector in moblizing funds for this initiative. This cannot be subsidised from funds that go into providing good roads, electricity and the like. The public have to use every safe means available to get the work done.
As regards violence, it is best avoided and the police, educationists, sociologists, teachers of schools, and industrialists have to constantly communicate to various sections of various communities to do some good work. For example, a huge number of people -- running into thousands organized themselves in desilting the Ukkadam lake and prevented encroachment by anti-social elements, in Coimbatore City. The good news spread all around the world, and the social media was very active indeed.
So, there is an urgent need to do something to arrest the unrest among people. It can be done, and it should be done. How we go about doing it, is a challenging task.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new article How Tamil Nadu has become so urbanized.
Tamil Nadu is the second most literate State in India. However, what makes it very interesting is the fact that exactly fifty percent of the people live in urban areas and only fifty percent live in rural areas. It is the most urbanized State of India.
It will be interesting to understand what made this happen.
Some twenty years ago, the process actually started and the momentum has been maintained by successive Governments.
The first contributor to this massive change was the formation of so many districts. Rightly or wrongly, every single town, separated by just fifty kilometers or less, is a district headquarters town, and the rapid urbanization is built around this event. For instance, Erode is one hundred kilometers from Coimbatore District, but Tirupur which is just 35 kilometers from Coimbatore, is a district headquarters town. Coimbatore is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu, and ranks among the fastest growing Tier 2 cities in India, with an International Airport, all set to become a big hub in the years to come. This stupendous growth spills over to Tirupur, which is a town well known for hoisery products, throughout the world. Exports from this town gross more then twenty thousand crores, and it has huge employment potential for thousands of North Indians, who have come here as laborers and are happy to settle down here.
Sixty odd kilometers from Tiruppur is Erode, which is a district headquarters town, with one major private sector paper manufacturer and a huge cluster of engineering colleges close by. This service sector growth has added to the urbanization, and a whole lot of teachers of schools and colleges live within the city and in the suburbs. The apartment culture is catching on in Erode, as it in the lap of the Cauvery river.
Salem is just sixty four kilometers from Erode, and is a bigger city than even Erode, with a huge number of colleges, one stainless steel plant of the Steel Authority of India Limied,SAIL, and a very large number of arts and science colleges and schools, and one of the fastest growing "rote capital" called Rasipuram, less than an hour's drive from Salem. What started as a trickle, is now spread to several schools, in this Rasipuram town, which has the dubious distinction of making children cry all the way, but produce the maximum number of "centums". It is a sad reality, but true. One can hardly blame the teachers, though. The schools specialize in organized "mugging up". That is, they prepare the children to answer the model questions, and prepare them to answer them in one very set pattern. If the student misses even one pont, he or she is gone. But the students get one hundred percent in each of the subjects of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology, thus sending a good number to the State's Engineering colleges.
There has been a big hue and cry against these schools, but the growth has been so good. The Rasipuram model gives gainful employment to hundreds of teachers who are very well paid, and their only duty is to organize the systematic rote learning. The economic growth can be imagined.
Salem has huge villages supporting its growth, but the villages are becoming small towns adding to the urbanization. It has many small towns now classified as semi-urban areas. Each of these towns has a munipal hospital, at least two small vegetarian hotels, at least twenty smaller hotels selling a huge variety of non-vegetarian food, and are situated on the highway, adding to the growth, as the buses stop there for food for paasengers at any time of the day or night.
Tamil Nadu has the largest and best organized bus transport in the country. It is another story that the State Transport Corporation has been systematically looted by polticians, but the Corporation does ply thousands of buses on each and every long term route. The private bus operators do not normally operate buses for distances exceeding one hundred or one hundred and fifty kilometers. The bus transport increases trading of a tall order, as it is possible to buy in bulk, items at fairly cheap prices and sell them for a profit nearer their homes or in other places. For example, thousands of people buy, wholesale, hoisery products from Tiruppur and sell them for profit in Tiruchirapalli and so on.
Wherever there are huge pockets of people, with huge disposable incomes, the growth rate is really huge. This has happened in Tiruchirapalli, which is the fourth largest city of Tamil Nadu, with an International Airport. The giant BHEL plant supports a huge number of executives who draw huge take home salaries. Often their wives are also employed in banks, making it a huge income. What has happened naturally is that these executives have simply contributed in a huge way, to the growth of the apartment culture in places like Srirangam, a small town adjoining Tiruchirapalli. However, a huge NRI population has also added to this growth, as each and every family in the USA wants an apartment in their home town.
Quite apart from this growth, the growth of good hotels can also be attributed to this same BHEL growth.
In the agriculturally rich Tanjore belt, where one can see greenery everywhere, there are so many districts, once again, seperated by less than one hundred kilometers. Here, the growth is agriculture driven, but the whole picture is one of balanced growth. Since the Stae Government gives free food grains to all people with lesser sources of income, the basic food needs are met and the agricultural wages is okay to support a living. Fights over Cauvery water with Karnataka notwithstanding, the greenery and the prosperity is a thing for sure and, yes, the service sector growth is once again stupendous. Tanjore, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal ( in Pondichery Union Terriorty but near Tanjore and Nagapattinam), Villupuram are all towns having all urban amenities. The basic facilites are all there, though the CBSE schools may not have the same standards of Chennai CBSE schools.
With so many districts, and a huge transport supporting mobility, what has happened is that the small scale businesses have also pitched their shops in different places. For example, there is a very small town called Tirumaiyam, near Karaikudi. Not many know that this town has a bottling unit, selling a famous brand called "Vincent", and this brand is what is called as "panner soda" with a superb native taste, that cannot be matched by the multinational companies.
Guess what? This drink is the sole drink in over seventy villages surrounding Karaikudi, and Pepsi and Coke cannot be anywhere near, as people only prefer this drink.
Go further down South, to Madurai, and a Harvard Business School professor could as well write a good case study on the night shop culture of this city. Come 6PM every evening, and Madurai is home to over 400 night shops that sell a huge variety of South Indian foods at very reasonable prices. Add to the foreign crowd coming to the World famous Meenakshi temple, and you have a sure winner. Note that the glass bangles sold here are so famous, that they are exported to all parts of the world, and it is a custom to buy only from here, for the "Valikappu" function, where the pregnant woman is dressed with at least two dozen glass bangles during the eighth month of pregnancy. ( only for the first chid). This is a huge function.
Hence, everything that is basically needed to drive growth is very much there. And then there are the Commercial Gods. One is called the Melmaruvaththur temple near Chennai, with a distinct commercial basis. Similar is the Golden temple near Vellore, where the sanctity is lost, thanks to the huge amouts collected as entrance fees.
So, the rich and the famous can use God's name to become richer!!!! This is Tamil Nadu. Yes, the corruption can equal or beat Bihar, but life goes on, thanks to the stupendous growth of Chennai, and a huge service sector and with so many district headquarters. With outstanding debts of over two lakh crores, the financial health is a big question, but life still goes on.

ABSIVAKUMAR created new article Need for more pragmatic policies to harmonize development .
The present Central Government is presently seen as a very arrogant Government, which wants to somehow push through legistlation, even if such legislation is against the interests of several thousands or hundreds of thousands of people. The haste with which the Land Acquisition Bill was sought to be introduced, without the appropriate safeguards to farmers, was something that was not seen for a very long time.
Why is the Government at the Centre so adamant, in the name of "development?". Its allies are no better. Some thousands of fertile land have gone into making the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, near Vijayawada. How is this possible? Even when the farmers raised a hue and cry, the Chief Minister, Mr Chandrababu Naidu was as arrogant as ever, and wanted to push his pet project through.
What did the poor farmer get in return? THE HINDU has reported that the figure is only Rs.50,000/- per acre. Is this not loot of a tall order? The news is that the farm lands surrounding the proposed Capital, are now selling at rates that have already gone through the roof. So, how can the common man ever think of living here? How can the poor afford to have a roof over their head, even if the Capital city has all the amenities?
Look at what has already happened to Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and even Hyderabad. Slums have multiplied, only because the poor have never been able to afford even the cheapest accommodation available, even one hundred kilometers away. For instance, at Achharapakkam, a suburb of Chennai -- which will become part of Chennai within the next ten years -- land is available at Rs.300 per square foot.
But where is this place? One hundred kilometers from the heart of the city. A booming metropolis, "market forces" and what have you. This is the sorry state of affairs, whenever huge development takes place.
Even in Tamil Nadu, the South of Tamil Nadu, is vastly neglected. Only Chennai and Coimbatore are truly industrial cities. These are two cities with th fastest rates of growth as well. However, what is needed is a true balance. In South Tamil Nadu, for instance, a huge number of agro based industries can open up a number of jobs for the youth and the service sector that will grow as a natural consequence, will take care of the uneducated but skilled youth, for there is plenty of employment opportunities for fitters, welders, carpenters, electricians, motor mechanics and so on.
However, till date, the Tamil Nadu Government -- the present and the previous ones as well -- have never been able to understand the true needs of this region.
Economic development should not destroy nature. If nature is destroyed, the consequences can be disastrous. For example, in the Western Ghats, at a place called Ettimadai, near Coimbatore city, a deemed University with tremendous political influence has acquired vast tracks of land that extend right upto the mountains and places of abode of elephants. These poor elephants have not been able to find good water to survive and are now forced to venture into residential areas, creating a torried time for common people.
Yes, no doubt, the teachers and the non-teaching staff are employed, and there is some tertiary sector growth as well, but what has happened to nature, to the environment? Why was this Deemed University, allowed to occupy such land? There is no answer.
There should be balance between economic growth and nature. When huge lands are acquired from farmers, the poor farmers have nothng to eat after a while. The entire area becomes an urban jungle, and the rich and the famous benefit, but the common man is left to the lurch.
So, every State Governemnt should compulsoily reserve areas of one hundred acreas or more, in the suburbs, and give away such land or build simple but functional houses for the lowest middle class and the poor, and also provide transport to the poor, to have access to the city. This is presently done only to a very limited extent. For instance, in Tamil Nadu, there is a slum clearnance Board, but this has now become one of the most corrupted boides in the country.
"Market forces" cannot determine every single agenda of growth, particularly in the cities. We need pragmatic policies. For instance, in Chennai, there are Amma Canteens serving food at very cheap prices to the urban poor. This is a very good scheme. However, it should be noted that the huge subsidy has eaten away all the Chennai Corporation resources and new roads, new streetlights, and so on, are never possible. This is because of the huge subsidies.
Instead, the Tamil Nadu Government could have approached each and every IT company present in th State, and every manufacturing group like the TVS group to run atleast six canteens each. With their vast resources, these groups would have happily done that, with the help of voluntary groups, as part of their Corporae Social Responsibility. But this has not happened.
So, what we need is a very urgent priority to balance growth and the environment. Even in matters of training, there does not seem to be a big direction. If the training agencies go to the interior villages and identify youth willing to be tained, several hundreds of youth can be trained -- very willingly -- as carpenters, or electricians or motor mechanics. This has still not happened, even when there is the National Skill Development Corporation very much in place.
Something should be done very urgently, and what are the policies needed? There should a big national debate on all these matters and planners, enviornmentalists, educationists and lawyers, should all be involved, instead of contantly groping in the dark. The time to act is now. Tomorrow may be very late.

Bajirao created new article Acupuncture: Health benefits and Risks.
Acupuncture is a well known form of Chinese medicine. Since many centuries this form of medicine has been practiced in China and many other parts of the world. Acupuncture is basically a technique in which the specific parts of the body is stimulated by inserting the thin needles through the skin. Acupuncture is commonly useful to treat the variety of pains like back pain, neck pain, knee joint pain, muscular pain, etc. This system of medicine is based on the theory that the pattern of energy flow through pathways in our body, these pathways are called as meridians. Any disturbances in this pathways result in the disease.
Several research studies indicate that Acupuncture has capability to alleviate the chronic pains, hence acupuncture has become an easy and alternative options for many people. However many critics are against this system of medicine due to inconsistent research results.
Let us understand the benefits and risk associated with Acupuncture treatment.
Benefits of Acupuncture
Ease the chronic pain - Acupuncture reduces the frequency of painful attacks and thus helps to ease the chronic pain. Lower back pain, knee pain due to osteoarthritis, muscular pain due to fibromyalgia, and dental pain can be treated with Acupuncture. Acupuncture not only eases the pain but also improves the mobility and activity of the joint.
Chronic headaches or migraines - Acupuncture treatment is useful and efficient in treating the chronic headaches and migraines. It reduces the frequency and episodes of headaches.
Nausea and Vomiting - Acupuncture is considered as effective in treating nausea and vomiting due to pregnancy, or associated after surgery, chemotherapy in cancer patients, etc.
Pressure on nerve - Acupuncture relieves any pressure on the nerve, as seen in Carpel Tunnel syndrome. It not only reduces the pressure but also reduces the pain and numbness associated with compression of nerve.
Muscular Spasm - As you know muscle spasm lasts for longer time, Acupuncture can be a good option to relieve the spasm.
Risks of Acupuncture - The possibility of side effects or risks associated with acupuncture is low if it is performed by certified therapist who is well qualified to perform Acupuncture.
Soreness and bleeding - Even though acupuncture needles are very thin, cause no or very less pain when inserted, many people complain of soreness and minimum bleeding at the site of puncture.
Local infection - Reuse of same needle on multiple patients can result in local infection.
Puncture of Organs - Too deep insertion of needles can puncture the inner organs and may cause internal bleeding.
Benefits of Acupuncture overrides the small risks. These risks or side-effects are most of the time preventable.

Lopamudra created new article Triveni-The Teesta-Rangeet confluence.
Amidst the beautiful and serene greenery with the snow clad mighty Himalayas as backdrop, lie the captivating hill stations of North Bengal and Sikkim.Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Gangtok are the major tourist spots for a peaceful and enjoyable vacation .These places make a perfect summer retreat, far from the concrete jungles, traffic jams and polluted environment ,a welcome change for any city dweller. There are numerous places in North Bengal and Sikkim which are the favourite haunts for many people from the plains but there are some places which are cut off, less travelled and very quiet yet eriched with natural and breathtaking beauty. The confluence of the rivers Teesta and Rangeet is one of them.
The Rivers
Teesta ,the lifeline of Sikkim, originates from the Tso Lahmu lake ( Cholamu as called by the localites there) situated at the extreme north of Sikkim in the Eastern Himalayas from where it moves ahead with turbulent flow covering almost the entire length of Sikkim and separating it from North Bengal, thereafter moving into North Bengal and reaching a point next to the junction where the roads coming from Darjeeling and Kalimpong ( two famous hill stations) meet. At this point it meets Rangeet , another mighty river originating from a glacier of west Sikkim region which melts during the summer months to feed the river and flows down the hills till it reaches Teesta forming a major tributary.
The Meeting Point
This confluence of Teesta and Rangeet is also known as Triveni . Some call it Lover’s point. It is considered to be a holy place where two great Rivers meet. Rangeet is considered to be a male river who meets his beloved Teesta at this point, hence the name ‘Lover’s point’. From here the river moves through west Bengal and enters Bangladesh where it finally meets the mighty Bramhaputra River.
The legend goes….
It is believed that once upon a time the beautiful Teesta and her friend and soulmate, Rangeet playfully challenged each other to a race down the hills. They decided to take their own routes and fixed up on a place far away from their region .Since they were venturing out of a known territory for the first time they decided to take help of some friends. Teesta agreed to be guided by a snake while Rangeet took a mountain bird as his guide. When they set out flowing vigorously following their guides, the snake moved fast without being distracted followed by Teesta. The mountain bird however kept getting distracted flowing through the mountains and enjoying its beauty much to the annoyance of Rangeet as he wanted to win the race desperately. Teesta having followed the snake reached much in advance and waited patiently for her friend Rangeet. Rangeet after reaching late and realising that he has lost the race got angry and threatened to go back. Teesta pleaded with him and requsted him not to leave her behind. This made Rangeet come down and meet his beloved, never to be parted again. Ever since that time this place where two river Gods met is considered to be holy and sacred.
Nature at its best, making it perfect to steal some tranquil moments with family and friends
Having stayed in that region for quite some time, we always looked for places where we could spend some time and enjoy. The entire terrain is so beautiful that one could simply pack some sandwiches carry water bottles and move out for a trek or a drive and never be disappointed with the experience. The local people had mentioned to us about Tribeni also known as Lover’s point which they said was worth a visit. So, on a bright sunny morning, along with few more families decided to have a picnic there .We set out early so that we could spend the entire day there. Our children took Frisbees, Volley ball, books and a tent along to enjoy the outing. We reached after an hour’s drive from Kalimpong. The place turned out to be way beyond our expectations. The confluence of rivers is an amazing treat to the eyes. The two rivers have two distinct colours merging together and moving ahead with a forceful vigour. The entire area is surrounded by lush green hills on all sides. One can simply stand there for hours, doing nothing but absorbing the natural beauty. The edges of the rivers were crystal clear. Rangeet is deep blue while Teesta is Emerald coloured. There is a facility for river rafting for the adventurous kinds which is again an experience of a lifetime. We thought of leaving that for another day (which we did) and spent that morning simply relaxing by the river. We dipped our feet into the Rangeet and walked on the pebbles seen clearly underneath. Water was almost ice cold but felt amazing. The river bank was almost like a narrow beach..Children could put up their tent, play throw ball and make sand castles all day long. There were other groups who had come for picnic and it was heartening to see everyone took special care to keep the place neat and clean. The localities guarding the area keep informing that it is their holy place so one should leave it cleans. People were seen cooking their food on small ‘chullhas’ made there but after finishing everyone cleaned up as a rule before leaving. We had taken packed lunch. After lunch we lazed around some more and then drove back home. It was a memorable morning and the memories will last us a lifetime.
When and How To Reach there
New Jalpaiguri is the nearest Railway station and Bagdogra is the nearest Airport. From both places one has to head for the hills through Siliguri. While going uphill it is about 55 Kms from Siliguri which is approx. one and a half hour drive. One may miss the slight detour that the road takes just short of Teesta Bazar if not attentive. The best time to visit are the months of March, April, November and December. Monsoons should be avoided because the rivers get rough and water levels rise. Although the drive though the hilly terrain along the river side gives an out of this world look to the river with clouds touching the water at places , one cannot really go for a picnic during that time.
It is said that memories are made of beautiful people you have spent time with in beautiful places…I feel blessed to have experienced many such moments of which one I just wrote about today!

bhuyali saroj created new article injustice with street dogs.
Pet dogs and street dogs
There are two types of dogs, one is which we control at home and we call them pet dogs and the other is which we don’t control because they are dangerous and frightening, as they lived in street so we called them street dogs. Usually the pet dogs are controlled by human beings and whereas about street dogs they are not controlled by any human beings. We usually get to see the pet dogs clean in comparison to street dogs that are because the human who is looking after the pet dogs makes him/her clean but in case of street dogs, they don’t have any master who will look on them and clean them.
Useful quality of street dogs
Many of us will think that street dogs are useless and they don’t have any kind of usefulness in him/her but let me tell you all of them who think all these, their thinking is really too low and they are not right. The street dogs have the usefulness quality in him/her, one of the useful qualities is that when at night the local people sleep the only creature that awake them when the thief enters their room is the street dogs who bark and awake the guardian of the house and in many cases they even bite the thieves. So in that manner they not only saving their money but also their life, so one way they are the god for them who got saved from thieves .
Injustice done with good street dogs
Yes, it is also right that many street dogs have bitten many local people where the street dogs lives. Many people will agree with me that the coin has two sides one is head and the other is tail. So in that way there are some good dogs and bad dogs, so because of one street dog who is bad and dangerous we cannot blame every street dogs as bad. There are many street dogs that have been killed by the cars which are driven on road and some of the street dogs go mad because of some accident or because they didn’t get any food to fulfil their stomach and the empty stomach make them mad. There are many good street dogs who got bitten by the stick by the people who don’t love dogs, they are even got hit by the stone and they get very serious enquiry which even make them paralyze for life. The innocent street dogs who don’t know to speak a word on his behalf to clarify the deeds which he/she haven’t done. The pain that they bear is very much painful for them and for every creature if they get. The main problem for every creature god has made is that they cannot communicate with human beings, so the misunderstanding occurs and make problem for the animals and as well as human beings to understand what the animal is saying and what the human beings is saying.
How much cruel the human beings are
Hitting with the stick and stone can be taken at a level of unloving. But killing of street dogs is something else, and it is murder which the human beings do and there should a strict action taken by the people of that area where the murder is happened. Some of the people think that this is only the animal that got killed but they are wrong murder is murder whether the animal is killed or the human being. The street dogs are looked as a dirty and a dangerous living thing; they are hated from the years they are born by the human being. Most of the street dogs are killed by the cars, bike etc. nobody can measure the cruelty of human beings, and they are too dangerous.
Conclusion
The best way to neglect this bad habit of hitting and beating of street dogs is that when a street dogs bark at you, you just stand straight don’t shake for a moment and don’t try to hit him/her with a stone or with a stick because if anybody does this he /she will be get bitten with the street dogs and he/she can be injured very badly. And one of the best way to get rid of all these is you have to start loving these creatures, you have to start feeding them whenever you get time or whenever you go anywhere by that street where the street dogs mostly seen. And I very much sure that if anybody does these he/she will surely get some respect and love from the street dogs. These street dogs are very much lovable the only thing which is required is a human being who will train and love him. We all have learnt from our childhood that the dogs are very loyal to their masters. The dogs will bark and shout with their loud noise on everyone excluding his/her master. The street dogs need only love and affection from the people of local areas where street dogs lives.

Bajirao created new article Easy ways to reduce your monthly expenses.
Management of personal expenses is the most difficult task for a common man. The best way to manage the monthly expense is to reduce or cut down your expenses without affecting your personal standard. Following tips will help to reduce your expenses without causing any harm to your desire and standard of living.
Cut down your utility bills - This is the most easiest way to start saving your money. We Indians spend lot of money on electric, gas and phone bills.
Maintain the air conditioner by proper servicing it regularly, at least once a year. Proper maintenance of air conditioner can yield up low electricity bills.
Use energy efficient light bulbs and tubes. Although he cost of these bulbs are more as compared to the traditional bulbs, but in long term they end up saving money because these bulbs use two-third less energy.
Do you keep electronic devices plugged in even though you rarely use it? Most of these devices constantly draw small amount of the electric energy which can add up the cost. hence unplug these devices if you rarely use them.
The use of other home gadgets like washing machine, iron, TV, etc can be minimized by using them only when necessary. Switching them off when not necessary can save you good bucks. Use washing machine when you have adequate clothes. Don't use the machine only for 2-3 pair of clothes. Cloth dryer needs lot of energy. So instead of using the machine to dry the clothes, let the clothes dry on its own or keep the them under the fan.
If you really don't use phine much then think of saving some bucks by downgrading your phone plans. Use the phone plans that are cheaper and that saves money. Use something that is free of charge. Phone call might charge you more than whatsapp. Limit unnecessary calls. Don't compromise on necessary calls.
B. Cut down your Grocery bills - We literally throw money on grocery shopping and food without understanding how much we could save if we make use of food in efficient way.
Purchase everyday items in bulk. For instance, some people eat yogurt daily so it is best to buy yogurt in larger quantity rather than buying them everyday. Items purchased in bulk cost less than regular ones. Similarly some non perishable food items like green peas, carrots, beans , etc can be bought in bulk and store in refrigerator for multiple use.
Use coupons to save the money on grocery. Lot of coupons are available in the news paper, and sometimes grocery store has sale like buy one get another Free... If you are going to use those things regularly, buy them and store it for further use. For instance, many times you will see the offer from Lays Chips - Buy one large packet get another free. These chips don't expire soon. So you can get them and store it instead of buying them every week with regular price.
Do not over use the sale items. I mean some people would eat more chips only because they got it at cheaper price. This can be the disadvantage of sale items.
C. Save money on Food - Large chunk of money can be saved if you money on food.
Cook your meals at home and avoid eating outside food. Even if you eat Rs 20 worth of food everyday, think in 30 days the cost goes to Rs 600. This is the minimum cost. You could save at least 600 rs just by eating home made food.
Prepare food as per the requirement. Do not prepare in large quantity as this food ultimately goes into the trash. In case if happens to be that over night food is left, make use of that food. Either you can pack it in tiffin or prepare new food item out of that. I remember preparing lot of rice for dinner, however due to some reason we end up eating less, I made various dishes of that the overnight rice like rice pudding, masala rice, and rice pakoda.. Similarly you can make use of overnight food if it is in good condition.
Be creative and start gardening in your backyard or any small area around your house. Vegetable gardening can save lot of money as you can grow vegetables like tomatoes, lemons, bringjal, etc easily. Learn how to store them during harsh weather.
Pack the leftover from the restaurant in case you eat outside. That leftover can be your onetime lunch.
D. Save money on transportation - Let's admit that four wheeler is pricey and difficult to maintain. The car insurance, yearly car maintenance, car mortgage, fuel price, and driving in the traffic can be hassel.
Use public transportation if you have access to it, you could save some money on fuel. In case you need to drive a long distance you can rent a car which will be still minimal in cost. If you live in city or close to a city, public transportation will be an easy choice.
Car pooling is another option. if many family members leave for work at the same time, use one car for everyone, instead of using separate transportation. Also share a ride with someone you know.. Share auto rickshaw is a good choice, as you can share money too.
Use bicycle for less distance work. Just need to invest small amount to get the bicycle, that's it. Instead of using autorickshaw for 5 kms of distance, use bicycle, you will save at least 20-25 rs. Another benefit of using cycle is that it will keep you healthy and fit.
E. Eliminate or reduce unwanted habits - Unwanted habits like alcohol consumption, smoking, habit of shopping unnecessarily.
Cigarettes and alcohol are very expensive. Cutting down these habits can save your extra pennies.
Many women like to buy unwanted clothes only because they thought they like it or to make impression on other people.. But never wear them . Why to waste your money on something that you don't want to use?
F. Earn money by selling unwanted household items - We all save unwanted items in some corner of our house. Sometimes we just throw it off or else keep storing them.
Sell your used clothes , accessories, or household items either online like ebay or sell them off in local stores. You will get some money.
Reuse or recycle the unwanted items.

In the same way, gout can be treated if patient regularly consume cherry juice.
Thousands of experiments have been done and result shows that right diet slows down aging.
