Intolerance in any religion is not uncommon i India. But it doesn't mean I support intolerance. What I say is Dalits also should realize their rights and fight back. Joining Baba Saheb's Buddhism may be a choice. But it depends on the concerned person.. Now there is a Dalit movement going on against intolerance, untouchability etc.
My opinion in this regard is Dalits should retaliate.
It is no use retaliating for reforming Hindu religion as this is basically caste based. The best way for Dalits is to discard Hindu religion. They may be either irreligious or join any other religion that would give them dignity. Caste system and consequential inhuman approach is essence of Hindutva. The very thesis of how mankind was formed according to Hindutva reveals this. According to Hindtva, all men are not equal. Brahma was created from navel of Vushnu. Then Brahma created Brahmins from his face, Khtriyas from his shoulders, Vaishya from his belly and shudra (dalits) from his feet. Accordingly, Brahmin are most superior followed by Khstriya, Vaishya and shudra (Dalits). Thus dalits are inferior to the other castes.

rambabu replied to the topic What a girl should do before marriage.
In our community, the elders from both sides will be present and allow the boy and the girl to talk freely. If necessary the boy and the girl are allowed to discuss about their likes and dislikes, hobbies etc with an open mind. Then after this only with their consent other things are arranged. It happened in my own daughters' marriage.

No great man can be completely followed. Pt Nehru was best disciple of Gandhi but he had to deviate from Gandhi. Gandhi would prefer small cottage industries only. He was totally against consumption of liqueur. I am tempted to refer to a current movement in Agra that is led by Ninety years old Gandhian Chiman Lal Jain. He threatened to drown himself in the river (Jal Samadhi) if liqueur is not banned. The police made house arrest and prevented him from Jal Samadhi. Now he is threatening to set fire on liqueur shops on 30th January. Following Gandhi ji in such way is definitely ridiculous and a threat to public order and peace. No doubt there may be physical and social harm of alcoholic drinks but prohibition is not just and proper. There is alternative way of mass campaign to educate people against the harm of alcohol and persuade them not to consume such drinks.

Very true..Catholics have a very practical approach to marriage, once the boy and the girl and their families agree to proceed with the marriage the priest along with a couple of other prominent church members belonging to their parish gives them some guidance and counselling regarding various aspects of marriage..Parents too from both sides are called if necessary !

It is a fallacy to state that food shapes human consciousness. Some of the worst communal riots have happened in states that are predominantly vegetarian. Taking wine is not at all unGandhian. Mr Ajmani enjoy your drink perhaps it helps you to think better.

Almonda are considered to be health food and used extensively in beauty products but it is very expensive far beyond the reach of the majority of people. If one is taking a balanced diet that contains all the nutrients there is no need to worry. We find many villagers and rural people much more healthier without consuming almonds. However, some nutritional information about almonds

Credit goes to Gandhiji for keeping Dalits within the Hindu fold at time of independence. But there is no Gandhi today. If Dalits turn away from Hinduism what will happen to upper caste Hindus. Will they reclassify the definition of lower caste?

Hope is always there. However in the short term fringe elements are having a good time. Perhaps the backlash by the silent majority will sooner or later come into play and bring sanity into society once again. Till then chaos will continue. Even many intellectuals are affected by the seeds of divisiveness. This is unfortunate.

The only health benefit I am contesting is its ability to stop hair fall. Peanuts are als good but are they good for cholestrol patients?

It's not a myth but its the cost that makes it look like a myth. But remember Poor health also becomes costly. If one wants to enjoy a healthy life one never hesitates to spend.
If Almonds are expensive go for other alternatives which are equally effective to prevent cardiac problems. Choose Peanuts. But never doubt the health benefits of Almonds. Its health benefits are scientifically proven.

Certainly the other one, Power hungry leader likes to rule. Because a power hungry ruler cannot rule enlightened country. But how the country becomes enlightened and when ? For me, in the present scenario looks to be dream. There is no hope in the distant future. For the same reason enlightened persons are hunted and killed by these power hungry politicians.

An ounce is equal to around 30 gms roughly. Almonds cost app Rs one per gram (without kernels) So around Rs 1000 per month. That is not a small expenditure per person and if it is to keep heart in good condition every family member would want it. So many thousands per month. As far as hair benefit is concerned it is a myth. There is no formula which can stop hair from falling unless it is a medical problem.

I meant each one is dependent on other, though not for anything at least for their own survival. You can suggest a better way other than what I said.

True. If one likes or not the simple life system followed by Mahatma Gandhi, one is at liberty to choose his own way. Maintaining simplicity helps in economic point of view too. Gandhi's philosophy stresses on this aspect also.
