Very true. AP Government s spending millions on building a new capital Amaravati. There are several allegations that the land acquired for building the new capital is being grabbed by force. Naidu says all the farmers gave away the land voluntarily. The center also provided all the funds required to build the new capital. The opposition is not ready to buy this story. Opposition questions, though there is a right to stay in Hyderabad for 10 years, why Chandrababu is in a hurry ? They also allege that the CM of AP is encouraging private Realtors..

Obviously politicians and heads of states live in a different kind of reality altogether because our neighboring state of AP is as bad as our own CM Siddaramaiah , planning on spending a new capital rather than develop an already existing smaller city ..Wit utter disregard for the miseries of the poor farmers Chandrababu Naidu is planning to spend a whopping 100 crores on the stone laying ceremony !

These days youngsters have too many conflicting notions to deal with ..they are bombarded by media coverage, friends opinions and the parents controlling them, and also their own biological changes which makes them behave irrationally at times. I have seen this happen with my own students from Junior college who are quite different when they are outside. The most well behaved student goes berserk while with friends or when there is a group of girls around ..I have questioned a couple of them after having caught them in the act and they feel very sorry and listen to whatever advice that is given but whether they follow it is another matter !

vijay replied to the topic Writers returning their awards - what do they hope to achieve?.
The way writers are being hounded by specific channels for returning their awards clearly shows that their protest has touched a raw nerve in thecpolitical establishment. Anupam Kher questioning writers was comical He as a Kashmiri repeatedly asked how many writers returned their awards when Pandits were being hounded out of &7k. Fair question but may he tell us how he protested by sacrificing his awards or contributing his earnings or sitting on dharnas or visiting refugee camps in Jammu. So what is he trying to achieve. The writers have a right to protest the way they deem fit. Armchair critics will only pass judgments. @ Shampa did you notice that when Kher was asked the above question by the lady writer he not only did not answer but Arnab also came to his rescue by changing the topic or moving to another participant. So when everyone has an agenda why point 'pen's at each other. You reap as you sow.

rambabu replied to the topic What Durga Pujo Can Teach India About Communal Harmony.
It is the belief in general that prostitution is an immoral act. Hence the place, the dwelling and the surroundings including the clay is considered as impure. You may not be having this belief. But majority believe. Whether it is a sanction to visit prostitution areas or not, it is left to your imagination.

In the first place why is the mud considered to be impure in the areas where prostitutes live? Or is it to indirectly sanction the visit to prostitutes by males ?

One is not able to understand why we are not able to improve our civic facilities to world standards. It is pathetic to see ancient level facilities in cities which contribute to our international image like Bangalore or Mumbai and other cities. It is not that skills do not exist. It is the quality of our elected leaders that to a large extent responsible for this sorry state of affairs. For too long now politics has been left to individuals who are dishonest and use muscle power. The educated consider it below their dignity to participate in politics but want the best facilities. Our national pastime is to go on cribbing and blaming every one else but ourselves. At anytime we are only blaming and blaming. If the vast majority is docile then they will be taken for a ride by the few smart ones.

Corrupt practices are corrupt any way you look at it and we dont need any links or media endorsement for it since it is there for all to see...Bangalore and other major cities are facing innumerable problems like water, power and bad roads and the CM has no qualms of spending 25 crores which is a lot of money on his personal comfort and as you rightly point out for 5 years of his stay ( May be he hopes to spend his life time there !) There are already 2 residences with huge gardens in very posh localities meant for the CM, both close to Vidhan Soudha, so is there any need for another and who bares the cost and how are they going to account for it ? Just because he is the CM does not mean he pays left hand taking away from right hand !
MLA accommodations are also illegal since there is already a process of alloting sites by the BDA ( Bangalore development authority) to residents who have been applying after paying 25% down payment , and reapplying since many years and now they will be deprived of their allotment because of the preference given to the MLAs..Isnt this a corrupt practice especially when these MLAs have done precious little for the state !

Honesty is not same thing as telling lies. In fact, to tell lie in interest of duty is honesty. Honesty means doing your job sincerely and if need be tell lie for your performance.
I agree. A doctor who does his job sincerely is Honest. And his duty is to save one's life. My opinion is some times it becomes necessary for a doctor to kindle hope in a dying patient. Then there is nothing wrong in lying with the patient. Because the Doctor's ultimate mission is to save the patient.
Anyhow this is my personal opinion.
So where was that doctor wrong in your opinion, was he cheating or being dishonest to his patient? A person is branded as dishonest or a cheat when does something for his personal gain.

@Shampa is right when she says that dishonesty should not be practiced just because it is the present norm. But the problem is that how many of us can withstand hte pressures to become dishonest. I give an example. I had a junior once come crying into mu cabin. The reason was that his wife was continuously taunting him that the wivesof other employees of the organization had purchased gold and ornaments when their husbands were in the same grade as he was. However the problem was that he was in a dept where their was no overtime and no dealing with outsiders. Employees in many other depts were generating overtime in a planned but dishonest manner and thus drawing much higher take home salaries. My counselling had no effect on him. I had to promise him that if he is able to arrange for transfer to an 'overtime' dept I will relieve him. After some time he indeed got transferred and made peace at home by getting overtime allowances. Thus there are internal and external pressures which also force honest to become dishonest.

He was the one who pruned my name Rama Mohan Rao to Rambabu which afterward remained. Such things flood me whenever I see those currency notes by my Grand father.
Every things which is given to by our elders are always important for us. Value is not important. I have single bed which is gifted by grand father ( maternal) to my mother in her marriage. My family member want to sell it but I am not agree. Like this I have more items which are in my house since my birth. These are not much useful but important for me.
True Anil. There is an old time watch with its pendulum, which makes noise. Especially during nights, its noise disrupts sleep. My new generation children want me to dispose of this wall clock And they even presented electronic clocks to me. I received them but I retained my old wall clock. It is still there.
It is the opposite in my own house, my children are even more particular about preserving old stuff. There is a very old grinding stone that must be a hundred years old belonging to my grand mother which is huge and it occupies a lot of space in the kitchen and I wanted to get rid of it quite reluctantly, but my children wanted to keep it because it looks 'Grand' and now we have put it in the garage making a special place for it ! In fact when my son is here he gets all sorts of old things from my ancestral home, the ones that are piled up in the attic and not being used and gets them cleaned, polished..
This reminds me my own Grinding stone, which I brought from Rourkela, Odisha when i got a job in Vizag steel plant. This was vehemently opposed by my children and wife. Owing to the pressure from all sides i had to yield. Now this Grinding stone is lying in the cellar of my flat. Some times it happens. it's only recently i brought back and kept it in my Attic. My only consolation was at least I can see it every day.
