The group consisting of Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi ,Girish Karnad and Shyam Benegal are the Path finders of new wave cinema in India. The role played by Smita Patil in the Movie Bhumika won the prestigious Golden Plaque award in Chicago film festival in the year 1978. A great actress indeed.

Smita Patil was a very gifted actress and her passing away at a young age was a great loss to Indian cinema.

Fimally the PM has woken up to the damage being caused by fringe elements within BJP and the Sangh parivar and Amit Shah has taken some of them to task today. It would be interesting to know how these elements now behave.
I know of couple of Jains who relish non veg food. I also know a young Muslim lady Doctor who is the only vegetarian in her family. I know a Bengali who does not like fish. I have a relative who only takes non veg food and no vegetables.
So can we generalise these habits upon the whole community to which they belong and condemn them. Food is a private matter like religion and and that is how it should remain.

Ban on cow slaughter is a state subject. So, many states have banned cow slaughter. There is absolute ban in some states and conditional in others. There is nothing wrong in enforcing law on the ban. Nobody objects to this. Nobody objects to the Haryana C.M. strictly enforcing the ban as legislated in the assembly. There is no needto make issue of this. It toatlly makes no sense to ask the beef eaters to go to Pakistan. Not only the Haryana C.M. but also another leader Naqvi also said so in a T.V. Interview. Such threats given by the leaders of the saffron group defintely give the impression that Hindu Rashtra is in the making. As regards beef eating by Hindus, some have admitted they take beef. When in North East, some friends told me that the Bengali Hindus also eat beef. Not one but many told so. Recently Lalu Yadav also told this. May be some might feel offended. But I don't intend to offend any one. But this is too less when the beef eaters are told to leave India. In case people are asked to go to Pakistan just because they eat beef, what elsecan be said except that Hindu Rashtra is in the making. However, all are expected to abide by the ban on cow slaughter in the regions where this is enforcedby law.
I give some more links to prove that there is systematic move to create communal tension by the saffron block.

However, the Goa C.M. has given a more sensible opinion even though he velongs to saffron froup. I appreciate his sensible statement.

Among the southern states except Kerala all the other states have a very corrupt reputation .But no matter what her reputation is, Chief Minister Jayalalitha is really doing good job for her state, Tamilnadu in all spheres .The Chief Minister of Kerala too is a committed leader but he is not a dynamic leader like Jayalalitha

Of course. It is the convenience and ease that counts. I too did not try this app for grocery, because it has not provided Vizag in its list. But I want to give it a try. There is nothing to lose.

I normally pick up vegetables from ladies who come selling from door to door...They come early in the morning with vegetables and greens and I make it a point to buy at least a few items and never bargain with them. They are making a very hard , honest living so in this era of apps and online marketing if people don't support them their entire family will be wiped out ! Many people in my locality buy vegetables from these ladies . they also make pickles and pappads during summer months ..

J&K can easily be said to be the no 1 corrupt state in India. The massive Central assistance is coolly siphoned off by politicians and officials and contractors. Any attempt for accountability is thwarted by raising the pro Pakistan plank and the Center buckles down. It is a heaven for the corrupt. Yes North States are high in corruption. In Gujarat it is practiced slyly and no one talks about it as it is considered part of the process. Ina a study on corruption by India Today many years ago Gujarat was given high marks because unlike other states. the corrupt returned the bribe money back if they could not deliver. Thus they were considered honest. Yes it does not matter which party is in power .

In Arnab's program the best line is when he requests the participants to let him also speak. His verbal diarrhea induces verbal constipation in his guests. Manya guest have stopped participating in his programs. He is sharp, intelligent but instead of an anchor becomes the 90% participant. Time he was moderated by his employers. Soon hev may run out of guests. After listening two debates on the writers returning awards I am only aware of his questions and not answers from participants who hardly got to open their mouths.

The level of corruption is not same in entire India. I feel that the most corrupt states are in North India as well some in South- especiallyTamilnadu and Karnataka. It makes little differncewhich party is in power. West Bengal and Kerala appear less corrupt. On the whole, there is very little corruption in North East. I am not very sure about J & K. Thus corruption is also a paty of culture that varies from region to region. Party affiliation is not so significant.

We do not doubtthe knowledge of theanchorson any topic. But what is the function of anchor. we are more interested in listening to the guests rather than the anchor. The anchor is supposed to mediate and give due opportunity to all guests. The anchor's own opinion does not matter so much. In case he is partial towards some and prejudiced against others, he has no role. Better the anchor be guest and some other person be host/ anchor.
