In general the vegetarians are all the time advising non vegetarians about what to eat and not to eat. In social media also they are all the time advising. One wonders what is their problem. It is time they should mature and write about and advise about relevant social problems. Otherwise they have an agenda.
Regarding Suni51's valid concern for 85 Paki Hindus stranded on Rajasthan border the issue is there is no policy stating that Hindus citizens of other countries will be given asylum in India. A policy in this matter should be formulated by te government. In fact there are hundreds of Hindu famiies staying in J&K since 1950 onwards who are still not granted citizenship rights by J&K govt.

I think it would be a concern for generations to come. As far, we are concerned the doomsday is already here. Just wait and see that all sins are rewarded/awarded or what you call it, instantly these days.

Lopamudra replied to the topic Is it really a beginning of women empowerment?.
It surely is a step forward. At least it has been thought of. This shows that some people are changing and would like to see the society change foe the better. So far as a real change taking place is concerned, it is the mindset that needs to change. By having these themes a large crowd is addressed and even if a few of them start thinking in the positive direction, it is an achievement. Every effort counts.

@Gulshan Kumar Ajmani has posted a thread which says about exploitation of a male student by his lady teacher and after reading it I cannot say that women are treated only as dolls. If women are victims then they are culprits too so we should not be so gender centric and feel pity about the condition of women. It is true, women are abused and we should raise voice against it but when they abuse then too we should raise an alarm. Actually, whoever is from the weaker section according to power and strength, be it male or female, may become a victim and we must protest it.

Processed food and red meat in excessive quantities have always been considered to be unhealthy. At the same time anything in moderation is fine. We Indians have a relatively healthier food habit. Our spices compensate for various ill effects of various food types and also life style. Turmeric, garlic, coriander etc are beneficial and prevent various ailments. After a certain age one has to be a bit careful . Personally I am okay with processed food but in moderation of course. Bowel cancer is far less in our country as compared to Europe and US if I'm not wrong. Bacon, sausages etc in large quantities are surely not preferable.

This can be a good effort if this puja committee continues with this theme every year to bring change in the mindset of the people. Social awareness cannot be created in four or five days but they need to put in more effort and time to really make people think positively. There is no use if they stop here but it should be a beginning to achieve women empowerment.

There have always been theories about the Earth disintegrating, The Sun turning into a red giant engulfing the Earth or the Sun getting so hot that our Ocean's would dry out eventually making it uninhabitable. At the same time there have also been theories about Aliens, UFOs and the likes suggesting some sort of evidence of life outside our planet. Humans the the most intelligent of living creatures. After few billion years if at all the Doom's day arrives, we would evolve further and make ourselves suitable to find or make a new home/plant suitable for life, touchwood

It is hte chemicals used during preservation of processed foods that may cause cancer and that too on prolonged use. Same should hold true frozen vegetables idf chemically preserved. silverlining is that vast number of Indians consume processed food in meager quantities, but one has to take the report seriously if consuming for long periods.
