Posting personal details is also acceptable when you have mainly only family members as friends.  In such case, facebook could be a very useful tool of interaction among family members. But it is no use posting personal events when you have hundreds of friends.

Unification of India, Pakistan and Bangladeshis a good idea.  Butunificationcannot be on basis of Hindu Rashtraor Islamik state. If religion could be basis of nation, Bangladesh would not come in existence. Raligion is notonly basis of nation. Language, etnic entity, cultural differencesall matter. There can be unity only when diversity is respected.  Itis funny to get the suggestionthat thereshould be same law for all. Criminal and civil law is already same. It is only personal law relating to marriage and succession that is different for Hindus, Musloms and Christians. Even Hindus don't have uniform personallaw. There is Dayabhag in Bengal and Assam whereas Mitakshara prevails in rest of country. Besidesmany tribes have different personal law.  Although unification is not feasible, it may be practicable for the time being to form a Federatioin of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. SARC organization could be considered a step in this direction.  Complete unification may also be possiblein distant future.

If we  wish for development of all, we need to ensure uniform policies for all at par. If we can not do it, why did we accept the partition in 1947?   When we got Independence in 1947, things were far different and I doubt if anyone could look ahead and see the future developments at that time.Partition was an outcome of many different aspects and in a way it was a good thing because of the simmering discontent that was there. But I am all for a uniform civil code which would definitely help all communities but our psudo secular parties will find a way to find fault with it..

Facebook is a social site meant for interacting , so one cannot expect any intellectual activities there although you have that too depending on the members. However, anything done in excess becomes counter productive. Some of my own friends go over board with their pictures and personal details, where they are going, what they are eating , in fact you know when they check into an airport or a hotel...Of course it is their choice , more than anything else they are being reckless by giving out such precise details ..

I have read all of the comments and posts and have not found Usha being rude at any point except she has just candidly put forth her observations, whereas you have accused her straight away. she has only been trying to help you, maybe the first time she did was abrupt but she has never been intentionally rude or negative. So I suggest to you to kindly refrain from making such bold accusations henceforth. It is my sincere request to you.

@Kalyani Nandurkar As you have said that first time she was abrupt and that is what I mentioned, it was not a correct way for a senior member to guide any new member. I have no problem with her straight forwardness but her representation hurts. That's a simple point I have mentioned. You noticed one word 'rude' but her implied meaning is not encouraging for the new member when she writes 'I will go on doing it in my way'. Still, earlier I have mentioned it very clearly that I am not here to start any argument and was not at all keen to write about it any more. Now, after your request there is obviously no reason to continue this discussion further. Thanks.

Before he took office as PM there was sustained villification campaign against him led by Sonia who considers herself as the Supreme Arbiter of this nation and lustily joined in by motley bands of political parties and dubious intellectuals overlooking and disrespecting the facts that no court of this land has found even a shred of evidence against Modi's involvement in Gujarat riots. My own take is that certain things go beyond court and court verdicts and Modi would be judged by history. But why do we see the continuation of this campaign when electorate gave their verdict? Sonia Gandhi is planning a march to Rastrapati Bhavan for this atmosphere of intolerance! How dishonest one can get!Has she sacked Sitramaiah before that? Truth is in her bid to foist her worthless son on this gullible nation she would stop at nothing! O Shame,Where is Thy Blush!! Right from day one after they lost power Congress has adapted attack policy rather than analyse their own mistakes. A typical case of pointing a finger at others without realising there are three pointed towards them. Sonia Gandhi is a very cunning and manipulative politician who has done everything possible to stay in power and control ...Now they will try everything possible to show Modi and BJP in a bad light !

I agree with you. Our policies are not uniform and they are partisan in nature. There is a great divide between rich and the poor.  People are segregated according to the castes. This is Divide and rule which will not be in tune with the very policy of " Democracy"

Lohri is not popular in whole North India. People don't don't keep fast on Lohri. Makar Sankrnti is celebrated on 13 or 14 January and Lohri is celebrated before one day of Makar Sakranti. In my state AP, on Sankranti day also known as Bhogi, All the people in the locality sit around a bonfire. on the third day, there will be a host of non vegetarian dishes.

If people will starts objection on jokes than it is not possible for any one to write jokes. Here in local paper names of character of jokes are Surja and Nathu, In coming it may be possible  that person who's name is Surja and Nathu file a petition. It is better to check the intention of the person.   True. Humor and jokes sans any ill and with the intention of evoking only laughter is always welcome and the people should be able to laugh freely. If it's otherwise, these jokes should be banned.

Camp fire is also tradition of Lohri. We sit before it and eat ground nut and chikkies. Festival is only to enjoy what is difference it is of North, South, East or West. Enjoy these.

@ Rambabu why make two similar posts with the same content ? In today's scenario there are many career guidance seminars conducted by many groups and this can help or at times confuse the students from what I have seen, because of the varied choices. They are not sure which suits them best....This is how many of them think of changing their profession after a while..

Congress and BJP both are national level parties. All other parties are traders.   True, a good opposition party is essential in a democracy but what we have is an opposition that is like a wounded tiger hitting out at anything and everyone in the ruling party with no rhyme or reason. This has made sure that country's progress has been brought to a standstill and thats what they want..
