Kalyani Nandurkar said thank you to usha manohar for his/her reply to the topic celebrating Tipu sultan Birth day .
Tipu fought against the British just to save his empire and not to free India ...But of course facts get twisted and distorted to suit the people in power. He now becomes a patriot to some , and raping, killing and forcibly converting a few hundred Hindus is no big issue definitely nothing compared to dadri killing and Kalburgi Killing ! The problem with the so called (in)secularists and Communal parties is that they dont look beyond their immediate benefit and would go to any extent to distort facts , when it hinders their own agenda . Karnataka state is having the dubious distinction of having Rape a week in the Capital city Bangalore, but does a corrupt Siddaramaiah and his grand old party care ? Tipu's birth anniversary celebration for which a lavish amount has been granted precedes all else - power crisis/shortage, farmers suicide, rape and the worst ever law and order situation !

And even if India succeeds, where should it go thereafter? There would be plenty of claimants within the country itself . And as discussed earlier, who can guarantee its fate would not be something like Tagore's Nobel prize medal ?? Exactly my thoughts! And as Usha too has mentioned previously that as long as it is displayed in the Royal museum in London, it is safe and everyone is aware of its whereabouts. But once it comes back to India, there will be a lot of ugly dramas regarding its claim and then the usual inefficiency involved in preserving and protecting it. It is safe where it is already present.

I see nothing but mischief in this dirty game of competitive communalism.Tipu was an autocrat who fought British for his own interest to protect his empire and the very notion or idea of freedom of India must have been alien and farthest in his mind!! This is you get when you allow politician to wear hats of all kinds - God,Saint,Satan et all! Sitaramaiah - the historian!!!!

What  great choice of histories we have to chose from : Real history, British history,Congress history, BJP history, RSS history, Leftist history, Muslim history, Regional history, Local history, Perceived history, Communal history and so on. Rarely many of us are on the same page of history.

Earlier they are saying about beef, and now they raise issue of Tipu Sultan. Congress government of Karnatka is be celebrating birthday of Tipu they are opposing BJP. They are provoking BJP.  They are provoking everyone who love their country .. Even there some of them from our district and North Kanara have been openly critical about the issue, also showing resentment  are some like Nitesh Rane from Maharashtra who is demanding an apology from Girish Karnad for his provocative statements , which he is famous for ! http://www.freepressjournal.in/congress-mla-asks-girish-karnad-to-apologise-for-comment-on-shivaji/

Kohinoor has to be snatched from the British as they did it from us. Niceties are not going to bring it back. Even the PM is silent on the issue. It needs a different mind set to get it back. FDI seeking Indians can not get it back.

The Resident Indians (RI) also deserve the melas that are organised for NRI's. After all it is they who elected him and not the NRI's. Presenting report cad to NRI's and keeping mum to RI's is not fair.

Good points. After 35, it is important to go for yearly medical checkups for quick detection of any ailment or even possibility of an ailment. Chronic diseases are on the rise due to present day life style even at a young age. One needs to be cautious and get the routine checkups done.

Good to see this kind of news. A few months back Dr Manabi Bandopadhyay took over as the first transgender Principal of a college( Krishnanagar Women's college) in the country. And now K Prithika Yashini overcoming all odds and becoming the first transgender police officer is another step towards progress !

Rationalists don't believe in astrological predictions but the psuedo rationalists may be happy with Steve Kinsmen's predictions about Modi ! But Modi is doing whatever he is doing for the nation not for his family unlike some parties, and that is the big difference between him and other leaders. I am usre he has enough sense to see how things are being done to defame him and his party and will take steps to counteract that ..If he is not capable of doing that he does not deserve to be in that position, so we will wait and watch rather than criticise every single move of his !

I have beginning to believe that the artificial shortage, hoarding and prices soaring up is nothing but a well planned strategy against Modi as the opposition wants to bring BJP down at any cost even if the people of this country starve to death hungry. The increasing number of strikes lead by congress and communists, rewards, return, the OROP which is something unprecedented being condemned etc etc are clear indication of such malicious  intentions. Why are writers not coming forward after what has happened in Karnataka?

Modi has made many foreign trips. But they have not helped the economy where food prices have shot up and resultantly he  lost badly in Bihar. 60000 people  at Webley will not reduce prices of pulses and  suicides of farmers.  People must remember that any FDI that comes is with  strings and is not gratis. Modi must work out a formula for success at home, but my friend the famous astrologer Steve Kinsmen has cast the horoscope of Modi with Saturn in the 12th house. This is similar to Napoleon and we know what happened to Napoleon. Modi MAY head the same way. he better pull up his socks.
