Lopamudra, you have summed it up quite well. Extinction or liveliness or revival of any language actually depends on what it can offer in terms of knowledge and content in today's context and Sanskrit fits the bill completely and beautifully well. In spite of its evident labeling as 'saffronizing language' or 'belonging to only a certain upper caste people' etc. it still serves a multitude of purposes to each and every component of the society. Ayurvedic treatment is given equally to an upper caste Brahmin and to a lower caste person. Sanskrit which is used to program computer languages and codes are used in the same manner by persons belonging to all castes. So constantly harping on it as extinct, upper caste, extinct language is useless and futile.

Being healthy person means you have a better chance to be happy. A sick person with a lot of money is least likely to be happy than a healthy person with less money. So being healthy is what I would personally choose.

Mani Shankar Aiyar and his cult are the most dangerous kinds of criminals and they deserve to be flogged actually. BJP does have its own share of 'motor mouths' but at least they do not go to Pakistan and ask help from those barbarians to 'remove' Indian politicians from power. These congressi 'motor mouths' are committing the worst kind of crime and they deserve to be punished for it.

Though it does not call for any authoritative command to see the weirdness of the claim that he was a freedom fighter! What is required is plain application of minds free from prejudice and narrowness. Tipu was a 18th century figure and none thought of freedom even the Indian National Congress and its leaders were apologetic about full-fledged demand for independence in the initial decades.Dabblers at history are better advised against preaching their home-spun,ridiculous theories!! Thats exactly what I would like to ask these people who go all out to make Tipu a patriot ! Just because he opposed, fought the British and lost his life in the battle does not make him a patriot . This whole business of his patriotism was started by Sanjay Khan who made the serial along with Tipus grand son who was a friend and business partner . The fats were twisted in the serial and the censor board rightly asked him to change certain parts since it was not according to reality ...He sought the help of politicians who saw an opportunity in it ! The truth about Tipu is there all over Mysore and Sri Ranga Patna , Kodagu and Mangalore where he conquered , forcibly converted and tortured people.. Casting Tipu Sultan as a Great Patriot and a hero who fought for freedom from British served well the purpose and intent of the Congress party since it matches their own policy of appeasing only a certain community. And if people now seek to understand and promote the true facts of history, it is understandable. In any case, these filmmakers such as Sanjay Khan hardly are known for making 'historical' films that adhere to true facts. Recent film Bajirao by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is another such stupid, rubbish film with huge sets and dream sequences in which the queen Kashibai is seen dancing with Mastani a la item song, when in fact both women met each other only once in their entire lifetime. And Kashibai had a limp in one of her legs, how could she dance, wearing such skin-revealing saree? these filmmakers simply have no regard for dignity or respect towards historical figures.

For a change I don't mind the leave your Brain behind and enjoy kinda films as well..Chennai Express was fun.Lot of good Bengali films are also being made these days. Byomkesh Bakshi ,mystry movies are interesting.  I go for the ones which are suitable for my 10 year old son as well. I still like watching old classic English films on CD like 10 commandments , Those magnificent men and their flying machines, Laurence of Arabia etc..  Have you watched Chitty chitty bang bang,,I am sure your son would live it ...It has become a cult film in my house with my children watching it even now. I have watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but never shown it to my son, forgotten it till now, thanks for the reminder, Although I do watch Wall-E, The Sound of Music, The Lion King etc. with him and we both enjoy it a lot. Apart from the movies I can watch with my son, I love to watch movies like Courage Under Fire, A Few Good Men etc. Recently, I saw Interstellar, which also is a great movie.

Each medicine type has its own merits and demerits. For any treatment method to succeed, the study of all signs and symptoms of the disease must be done carefully and acutely and medicine prescribed accordingly. Deviation in these observations may occur in failure of treatment method, be it Ayurvedic, Allopathic or Unani or any whichever! Also, it would be wrong to say that some treatment methods are fail-prof and some are not, all methods if taken wrongly may cause equal damage.
