suni51 created new article How to tackle difficult persons.
How to win persons with different ideologies
Do you know we have close to 7 billion people on our planet and some of them (maybe I am being modest while using the word 'some') but the fact that all of them going to difficult to deal with them. In fact, we meet people every day with whom it's not easy to get along with at least all of the time. Let’s accept the fact that it becomes depressing at times but it's really hard to change most of them as you would prefer or like them to be and the worst part is maybe they think they same abut you at the same time. So what should you do? Think something keeping in mind that you cannot simply change the way they think or their ideologies, temperament or personalities are entirely different from what you expect.
Whatever the reason but if you come across people suddenly while you’re cruising along on a successful life path without a care in the world. Maybe you try to get along with them but it’s not an easy task to meet their demands. Maybe you don’t lose much but they certainly leave their signs. And the signs are never pleasant since all such people are always difficult ones with different mindsets. Some of them are aggressive while some others are quick-tempered and you have plenty of them are behave like dictators.
Just how can you do that?
Here I remember about a coworker who hated going to tour with juniors, incidentally I was a junior manager then. He was not my kind as he was not only too aggressive but short tempered and worst of all to proudly just because he was 8 years senior than me but I had to work with him rather under him so I had no choice but to face his attitude. It went on for couple of trips and I had reached to stage where I had started to believe that the man was impossible. In fact, he had started to treat me like an enemy or maybe he took me for a spade.
But then one day I suddenly realized that my own behavior was getting worse so I decided to change my attitude. I woke up a little earlier that fine morning when we two were on a trip in Karnataka and staying in the same hotel room. I planned an experiment to treat him differently that day imagining that senior manager was my great friend and not the manager only. I had asked myself a simple question while in the process of making out that plan despite knowing the fact that a person trained in such matters like a psychiatrist can chalk out such plans but an ordinary person like me had to face lots of trouble changing someone having complex behavioral problems.
But I thought, can I change this person or let the situation go on or should I carry on tolerating him the way I was doing. The answer I got was, you can do it, you can change him but you will have to be patient while dealing with this person in a different way. We all face such people and I can assure you we all can find ways how to tackle them but the only condition in achieving this goal is one should not lose his cool during the entire process otherwise there will be not much difference in between that person and you. The process may take time but if you have enough patience trust me you will succeed in the end. In my case, I can still remember first he was skeptical at my first move but started to understand my point, in fact he had no choice but to change his behavior.
Can I change them all?
The answer is, in 99% cases, ye you can change people with complex behavior having difficult personalities but the fact very few people prefer to go through the process of such a complex procedure which in some cases might even backfire so a plan B should be kept ready if you have decided to go with such a plan. As I said, the plan may backfire and in some cases it can even worsen the relations to a point where the chances of recovery are remote. But if you wish to go on with your plan you should check-
Do you really need to change him?
Do you feel you can get success?
You are not afraid that things might get worse?
You think he is willing to change?
You should know the fact beforehand that difficult people do not change to please you so your efforts could prove futile and if something to that effect happens you will not change your attitude toward that person because you knew it from the beginning.
What are your options?
Now if you cannot change the behavior of a difficult person you have left with only two options, either you let the things go the way they are going or get out of the situation believing that you cannot do it. And that is true up to some extent. Everyone is not trained for changing the behavior of persons like these but everyone or almost everyone knows how to let things persist or continue in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty rather than facing the stiff opposition. There is no harm going with second option too unless you have a foolproof plan for changing the difficult person. You can find out your chances of success or situation by reading the below mentioned points-
Why should I go ahead with this useless plan
I will talk to the higher authorities
I may lose my own calm so let me avoid it
I will feel bad but I will tolerate him
Everything will be fine in due course
I will kill him in my imagination
There are some healthier ways of thinking
I will do my best to keep myself calm and cool
I will do the best according to situation
I will stay away from the emotions
I will not lose my own status
I can see his insecurity or inferiority
I would not report him because I myself do not like people who do that
I do not want to lose my sleep by dealing such people
I can handle the situation when the time demands it
I do not keep such matters in my mind but trust in forget and forgive
In fact, you can have many excuses to keep away from any act of reformation of such persons thinking that it’s not your business but if you feel so, you should reduce your mingling with such kind of people if you can help it. In fact, you are trying to solve a problem where your chances of doing so are almost nil.
Should I leave him forever?
That is one of the questions that come to your mind when you find yourself at the end of a closed lane but ask yourself a simple question, is that possible in all cases? Sometimes, you behave bitterly with such people but even that is not the solution for your problem as the other person does not understand your point or is too shrewd to understand. So what’s the limit you have set for yourself? Don’t you think tit for tat is one of the best remedies in such a case? Now you have two options at your disposal, either you try to change him or leave him forever. If you have decided in favor of first choice go ahead and try to change him but if you have decided in favor of leaving him aside and move on maybe you’re not wrong. When you have already moved on and looked back you will see you were right at your decision.
Conclusion
Everyone tackles difficult persons with their own methods. While some of us succeed handling such personalities most of us failed at that since some of them become violent in the process. The best way to deal such people is to act according to situation. Go deeper into the matter and chalk out a strategy which you feel can work and if you feel the man is impossible just leave and forget him. However, you should avoid the situation which you find impossible to come out from.

MG Singh created new article Double Standards of the West in Facing Islamic Terror Groups.
The recent terrorist attacks on French soil are an eye opener. The French capital was hit by a wave of attacks, that left over 130 people dead. The French were astonished and now we learn that gun battles have taken place in a Paris suburb, which lasted for over 7 hours. The French have reacted and begun a bombardment of the ISI strongholds in Syria. They have also reached out to the Russians and now both have started coordinated attacks against the ISI and Daesh.
This is not all but the French allies notable the USA, England and Canada have suported France and the USA has supplied essential data to the French to make their attacks more effective. In one word one can see that there is a concerted action by the western powers to help France. The French expect support from all countries of the world including India for their action. France is a strong country and maintains an independent nuclear deterrent and this has come in handy as the French Air Force has gone in action against the ISI and its allies.
Unfortunately the western powers are guilty of double standards. Firstly, they in a round about way supported the ISI as they just wanted to overthrow Assad in Syria. They winked at the source of funds for the ISI and reports suggest that nearly 40 countries including France helped sustain the ISI movement. Turkey is guilty of buying oil from the ISI from it's captured oil field in Iraq and it is supposed to be one of the partners in the war against ISI.
The reaction to a similar and far worse carnage during 26/11 is a case in point. This attack on India's financial capital Mumbai, which originated from Pakistan saw no similar action from the western powers. There was no talk of any military action against Pakistan except for lip service. The attacks were condemned, but at the same time the same western powers advised caution to India. India does not have the French capability to mount an offensive( partly by it's own self-destructive policies), but it expected as a front line state fighting terror to be supported by the west. Unfortunately nothing of the sort happened and the western powers allowed Pakistan to get off the hook.
Let us be very clear, the western powers are no friends of India.Modi happy with his foreign jaunts may do well to understand this and concentrate on increasing Indian military capability. Why couldn't India launch a similar attack on the Pakistan training camps for terrorists like the French did. As per CIA estimates Pakistan runs over 100 such training camps all over Punjab and Occupied Kashmir. Now I learn that the nuclear powered French aircraft carrier is also heading towards the coast of Syria. This is what is known as " gun boat" diplomacy and has a place in the modern world as well.
Modi may well remember what happened to Nehru. Like Modi he was the leader of the Non-aligned movement in the world. He struttted about as a great statesman at the Bandung conference in 1955, where he introduced Chou en Lai the Chinese prime minister to the assembled leaders. Nehru however had legs of clay. He neglected the military and India and Nehru suffered a body blow from China, from which India never recovered. Nehru was shamed and he never made a visit abroad after the thrashing from China. He lost the halo around him.
Modi is going on a similar path. He should understand that the West will never pull out India's chestnuts from the fire. No wonder, the West has done nothing to help India get the perpetuators of the Mumbai carnage to justice or make efforts see that Pakistan hands over Dawood Ibrahim and Hafeez Sayeed.
One wonders that a country like India which is five times the size of Pakistan is powerless in dealing with it's neighbour. What is the reason? Readers must think about it. I have an answer and that is the lopsided priorities of the political leadership, Nehru or Modi. They should read the Red Book of Mao, where he stated " political power comes out of the barrel of a gun".
The Indian military-industrial base must be strengthened for great power projection. Who will do it?

suni51 created new article The Importance of Proper Feedback.
The feedback
We hear a lot about feedback these days. Even the customer support department asks for your feedback asking for your opinion on a fixed scale. Feedback is nothing but information about reactions for a product, or opinion about a person's performance that carried out a task for you but one thing is for sure all this information in form of your opinion are used as a basis for improvement of that particular service.
Actually I bought a scooter manufactured by a reputed manufacturer a couple of months back from a local showroom. Next day there was a phone call on my mobile phone asking me about the experience I had at the showroom during my stay at the showroom and the behavior of the sales staff. I was surprised to note that we have developed this much of awareness about feedback regarding customer experience. Actually, the modification or control of a process or system by its results or effects or behavioral response is necessary to for any industry and it will be good we learn it fast, earlier than later.
Being a marketing personal myself let me make it clear at this point that negative feedback and positive feedback does not mean good or bad in themselves but a negative feedback only tells you to wake up and do better than you are already doing. Likewise a positive feedback indicates that you should keep doing the good work or try to improve on what you are already doing and if lose the grip the things might go beyond your control. Feedback is a process that keeps you on your toes, you and your company knows whether you’re doing enough or need to improve. Feed back in other words is true reflection of your efforts.
Feed back- The right Direction
We spend almost one third of our lives at our workplaces doing our best, giving out what best we can but not really knowing what else could we do to make things better. We in some cases would have been happier if we found out what was expected of us, how was our performance. However, there is no doubt about the fact that there was a way to know about performance we could have done better compared to what we were already doing. That’s where the role of feedback is needed and if we have a good feedback system working for us rest assured you will not go wrong. If you permit me to say I would like to put it this way- you are entering into a jungle without proper maps and signs. You may have a good knowledge about your business but unless you have a proper feedback system you’re not on the right track. The employees should know where they are missing out at.
Lack of feedback
Let me make it clear at this point that your workers do their best but in absence of a proper feedback the chances are they will make similar mistakes constantly and that too without knowing it. If you see a lack of collaboration in between management and workforce the reason is nothing but a proper feedback. In technical terms it’s called ‘feedback famine’ which occurs when workers do not get enough proper information about their own good or bad performance. This is a dangerous situation for any company which may affect company and employees adversely. The worst happens with workers as they get no chance to improve their performance irrespective of level and size of the company they work for. Let me revel another fact at this point that all successful people use feedback system on their way to top of the ladder.
Feedback makes all the difference
There should be no doubt about the fact that feedback is one of the most powerful management tools which undoubtedly works successfully in increased production and satisfied employees. In fact several companies are not only using their own feedback systems but also engaging survey companies which approach consumers in many different ways and even pay the consumers to know their opinion. However there is no doubt about the fact that positive feedback always encourages you to increase what you are doing with added enthusiasm. The process of feedback refers to a response from the consumer/customer that gives the idea of how the job is being carried out and whether it needs to be improved.
Feedback is a powerful management tool that provides a perfect data which differentiates in between success and failure well in time and that helps improve the performance and reduce the chances of failures. Feedback is not positive all the time for sure and this is not easy to listen to criticism at your face but that is one of the best ways to improve your performance and companies are prepared to listen to their own criticism to improve their performance. Companies have made arrangements to record the discussions in between their customers and customer support officers so they get the real picture of the feedback and not a painted or fabricated version. In fact, companies do not mind complaining customers as the companies consider them their quality controllers.
The sources of feedback
The source of feedback does not come from customers necessarily but from various other sources like company’s own managers, supervisors, measurement system, quality control department, friends circle and consumers of course but all the feedback is important as long it helps in improving the performance. The important point of any feedback is that how much it helps to improve the service or the product. Ultimately the aim of all the efforts is to improve the quality of the company’s performance. Now, you have to decide what kind of feedback you need for your workplace from your inner and outer sources. The feedback could be in form of written, oral coming from your customers and employees and online if you are big enough industry and finally from outsourcing.
There is another important point about feedback which is always considered to be negative but even if it’s negative it should be done in a manner which sounds as if the purpose is to improve the services and the product and not to show the company down straight away. As a team leader or manager I would prefer to get well prepared before suggesting team members the necessary changes which they need to apply to improve the things. Also, I will always be prepared to listen to the team members about their own suggestion in to the matter which may come in handy rather than overlooking them. I would rather listen to them and even accept them if they sound worthwhile.
The Positive side of the feedback
There are lots of benefits of proper feedback at any workplace which help create a better understanding in between the workers. A feedback works properly when it’s done with a particular aim in mind and it work toward improvement of that particular aim. Generally workers adhere to the advise provided the higher management. The feedback not only helps improve the performance of the company but workers also improve themselves as they focus on work with new energy. Feedback provides the proper suggestion to a company and they can work with new ideas and better concentration.

suni51 created new article Women Officers in Indian Army .
Do you have that passion in you?
You must have read this question or heard on television "Do you have that passion in you?" Actually it's a provocative line in the Indian Army advertisements meant for inviting for the post of officers and lately it has been addressed to women as well. Women feel enthralled listening or reading this line and try their best and some of them who had other plans apply to join the army. It all started in 1992 when the Indian army began recruiting women and the women took it seriously. The number of women recruitment is going up every year ever since but there are certain questions which need answers before we reach to a fair conclusion.
Most of us witnessed women leading this year’s Republic Day parade when the American President was guest of honor but merely leading the parade does not mean women officers are leading the Indian army in the battle field too. There is no doubt about the fact that women are joining army in greater numbers now compared to past but that does not indicate their true value in the field. On the paper it may look like the women in the army is marching besides their male counterparts but in reality that is not the truth. To know the truth and reality of women officers one will have to hear it from the horse’s mouth. After all there should be a reason that forces women officers to leave the forces before their stipulated 14 years in the service.
Most women officers find themselves being treated as inferior or liabilities on the force. The fellow officers look at them as burden and do not feel hesitation in asking funny questions which no person having self-respect will tolerate easily. For instance there is a common question asked by fellow officers ‘how long will you be staying in the cantonment?’ or “would you be joining us for a drink party in the officer’s mess?’ These questions sound innocent but have deep meanings which are asked intentionally to show the women officers as out of the place creatures. Women officers could have created history by leading the Army contingent in the Republic Day parade, but many of them are still not allowed on board warships. They are not given the commission until recently and that too in very small number.
Maybe we have certain examples to contradict the facts that women are slowly managing permanent commission as officers in the Indian army despite of the fact that they are still being kept away from the combat roles in the actual battle field or postings at advanced posts at borders. That is something like a dream for the brave Indian women officers which they saw while applying for the job. The latest figures coming from the defense sources say that armed forces have granted permanent commission to 340 women officers till now. This is certainly a poor count which tells the true story especially when you know that the number of male officers is over 60,000 in our 1.3 million armed forces.
The Indian Army management and male officers will have to change their tactics if they have to keep women officer’s interest alive during coming years. The male officers’ mindset needs to be changed and it should be beyond the mere talks but the gender equality will have to be maintained among the officer otherwise no women would want to join the Indian army as an officer. You can check it from the fact that there are no women commissioned officers in the army from the first batch of 1992 almost 23 years before.
Why women officers leave the army?
Most women officers left the army since they were not allowed the commission and most of them would be eager to rejoin if only they would be allowed commission. There are women officers in education, legal and nursing wings but not in the battle field. The Indian army must understand the concerns of the women officers as they joined the army giving up the idea of joining other services where they would be treated on equal terms and the Republic Day parade was not their sole aim of joining the army. In fact they went through all the training with as much efforts as their male counterparts do not for the way they are being treated. In fact, they are mere show pieces of the Indian army, kind of medals to showcase to the world that we are a nation of equal values or we do not discriminate among the sexes.
It would be interesting to note that 250+ lady officers have either resigned or took retirement from the army in last five years and it would worth mentioning here that Indian army had less than 650 officers only. If you listen to male officers on the subject it would sound ridiculous, the male officers feel that appointing women as officers in army is wastage of time since women officers leave the army after they get married. To prove their point they provide the example of doctors in Indian army who also leave or take early retirement , incidentally army is recruiting female doctors from as early as 1941. However the studies clearly show that both the versions are wrong and both the parties are right and wrong. But that does not end the debate on utility of women officers in the Indian army. As far Naval officers are concerned the fact remains that woman officers are not allowed to board on battle ships, so they cannot be promoted to the rank of Captain.
Are they ready to go to the battle field?
There is a book 'Women Officers and Work Environment: Indian Perspective' written by Colonel DS Randhawa which is kind of research project based on talks conducted with 600 junior lady army officers and their parents. The main question which was asked was whether the women officers would like to be the part of the combat force and work on border with their male counterparts? The outcome of this research was that most junior officers with a service of 1-5 years felt excited about such an opportunity while the women in the range of 5-8 years service felt hesitation working with males in actual War field. The more senior officers did not responded in a proper way and most parents were against the idea.
It might not be true for all the women officers but most officers are not mentally prepared to go to the actual battle field for obvious reasons. The number of serving female officers is so small that there would be hardly another female in the entire battle front which would make them feel alone and even suspicious with so many male around and living conditions in advanced camps. There is absolutely no doubt about the capabilities of the female officers but our army is not yet ready to utilize their full potential. The question should not be whether the women feel enough passion about working with the army but the question should be whether our army is accommodate the women in its ranks.
The situation is getting better
Most people believe that female officers have entered into male dominated area with a bang but the fact is which is hard to believe but true that most lady officers find the atmosphere inside army campus as choking and try to come out of there at the first opportunity. But under the guidance of our present defense minister the things are taking a positive turn now. He is planning to induct the female officers as fighter pilots, planning to give the command of combat forces to the female officers and looking deeper into the matter of sex equality in armed forces. In fact it’s a universal problem faced by even the most advanced countries also. One should not fell surprised if he reads about sexual harassment of women in all parts of the world along with looking at them as inferior gender which are no more than showpieces in the army.
The most important question that is being asked in the armed circles is how to adjust women officers by providing them proper respect and safety. It’s one of the same questions which worries the armed forces of America and Britain which are by far open and advanced compared to our country but if you look at the cases of rape the things are at real low level. However, despite everything is crystal clear the rate of punishment by martial law courts is too low which stands at merely 2-3% out of the total accused.
It’s rather disappointing for women officers that having equal or better capabilities their job is limited to desk work. Some senior female officers accept the fact that their presence makes a difference among the male officers and the atmosphere becomes tensed up to some extent. They also agree to the point that army’s job is violence related and a different language is spoken which male officers hesitate speaking in presence of ladies. An army personal is considered to be always prepared to hit someone if the need be which is least expected from the majority of the women and that makes the whole difference. Actually the women officers are in a confusion, if they behave like women which they actually are they are looked down or the male officers hesitate in their presence and if the women become friendly and behave at the same level the chances are they will face other kind of problems which could lead to sexual harassment. There is a need workout the situation and tackled carefully which our army bigwigs know fully and trying to solve the situation.

Anil, most of the pirated books are made by people who know what sells and they make copies of fast selling books and sell them for a cheaper rate and many people buy it since it is much cheaper than the original prints. However, they will not bother with books that are banned or books with heavy subjects attracting fewer readers , since noone knows about them and there is no demand for it...

Chidambaram , former Finance minister has now said that banning Satanic Verses by the Congress government was a mistake - too late , since since then intolerance began to be a way of life in India. Thankfully he has admitted what everyone knew ! Banning has never helped and in India we have had too many books banned from time to time. I remember , when Da Vinci Code was released the Christian community was up in the arms since the book was quite controversial questioning the very foundation of their faith but no Christian country banned it ..

suni51 created new article How to tackle difficult persons.

No single produce however good in quality will taste good in its original form but it will have to be mixed with other produces even if from the same garden but blended in different way and developed differently.
Tea or wine, these are produced in batches. So taster is required to taste every batch of tea and wine.
Naturally. Tea taters and wine tasters are essential. Their respective grading will promote their businesses.

With out cooperation of public it is not possible for any government to do some thing. What can minister alone can do. Modi is launch program for cleanness. Modi can not come to clean. Public can keep clean their surrounding areas.
It's a team job. Two hands are necessary to clap and produce sound. Hence, its essential for both the Government and public work together to make any welfare scheme successful.
