The Chiefs of the IAF right from Arjan Singh downwards are equally culpable, but one fact does stand out that Indians historically do not want to fight. China was way behind India which had a steel plant in 1949, while not even a bicycle was made in China. There is thus no excuse for this neglect and somehow we fritter energy in things like caste etc. Now to cry that China economy is bigger has no meaning. We could have emulated China.
It is high time to think about the security of the country setting aside all the unproductive talk. It is our country and it is our security that will be at stake if we do not care about the Army. The urgent issue to be addressed is strengthening the Army, especially in the present scenario of ISIS and several terrorist outfits are spreading like wild fire all over the world.

Stark naked truths. The fact that Nehru was scared of a military coup is well known. Congress committed blunder after blunder with a view to stick to power.. I agree with you . Modi is really serious in strengthening the Army. As many of our members pointed already, it takes time to repair the severe damage done by the Congress. Modi is the best thing that ever happened to this country.

Most of the discussion is based on fears. Muslims are used to say- Islam is in danger. Now many including those in this form fear that- Hindu is in danger.
But the fact is that nobody is in danger. Religion is personal matter. Let anyone have any faith. Neither Hindu nor Islam is endangered. In fact, humanity is in danger. Let us nourish human values so that humanity is saved.

To me, nation is nothing but an extension of family. In a family, whom will you consider a good daughter in law. A daughter in law says that she likes all family traditions. she worships daily. She dresses well. She likes all rooms and garden. Hence she is good family member. But she dislikes and abuses her husband, sister in law and others.
Now think of this in extended family- nation. some organization says that they love the culture, history of country, trees, land, river everything. But the minority community is bad and devilish. Those with other views are anti national. Such organization is just like that stupid daughter in law.
Nation does not mean just old traditions, mythology, a particular community or way of thought. Nation consists of all communities living in the land speaking different languages, having various faiths and so on. Just as a good family member must love and respect other family members- a good citizen must respect all citizens irrespective of caste, creed, faith, language. This is the real meaning of nationalism. Any attempt to force a particular faith, language and way of life on others is certainly not nationalism. This is chauvinism and ultimately means anti nationalism.
In the ultimate analysis, nationalism or say, patriotism is respecting unity in diversity.

I doubt it can develop in India as the leadership does not have a great leader. Unfortunately the leaders who came like Gandhi were not revolutionaries and that is the bane of India. Gandhi believed in Varna system and that set India back by centuries.

It is this very fact which you stated is the cause of such anguish and the reason for increasing rift amongst communities, that congress has and is vehemently trying to portray BJP as being Anti-Muslim, which it is not. Neither am I an anti-Muslim or anything close to it. I have some very great and dear friends from that community and am well aware of their current predicament which congress misrule has out them into. And of course, if you have reason to give a benefit of doubt to the Muslims for their deeds and good deeds, give the same space to Hindus too. It will not work and not be tolerated if Hindus are denied that space and freedom/ and coming to your statement on the absence of a substantial leader, at least try and give Modi five years where you have already given congress 65 years of free hand. Do not cry wolf when he is unable to repair the damage of 65 years in just 1.5 years.
Very true and I agree that too much is being expected of Modi and the opposition is going all out to pressurise him in every way possible without caring a hoot about the country or its development. Kashmir is another story altogether, ...This was a link I got today which sums up the Kashmir story as to how Hindus have become strangers in their own home uled by Hindus ..
Let me inform readers that many in Saudi are convinced that India will similarly become Islamic nation in just another 100 years. Maybe the period is not correct, but the threat is real as it happened in Kashmir and East Pakistan. Remember entire Indonesia became Muslim inside 100 years as Buddhism and Hinduism was thrown out. Part of this due to the archaic practices of Hindus themselves and many who sided against their own community.
This is a real case scenario and must be guarded against
