I am glad you liked the gift!  My dear Boddunan family, Thank you very much for your lovely comments and praises for my small gesture. In fact I would like to share how I met Kalyani. I joined boddunan.com in July 2009 with the aim of earning few bucks; but never could i have ever thought I would earn few friends. I donot maintain many friends virtually, but a select few I keep and one among them is Kalyani. I met her through Atul Barapatre somewhere around December 2009 and what clicked among us was the love for the Language English! I would share antidotes with kalyani and we would be giggling our way out online! This year marks 7 years of Knowing her and since it is a leap year, I wanted to do something memorable. As a co-incidence, Kalyani sent me some details of art along with her postal address which then I thought would surprise her and thanks to online portal paytm.com; i could be able to send a small gift to her for her birthday!!! I wanted to send something very worthy like a diamond set, but I could manage to send something under my budget!!! (Sorry for the disappointment Kalyani!!!)  Even though I have not met Kalyani, she has been with me through thick and thin and her words of encouragement to me has always been like sweet water on a parched land. Thanks Kalyani for being a wonderful woman!  I wanted you all to know, I tried to be friends with Gulshan ji (the simplistic taxman I would call him) and also Chinmoy ji (the charming poet) and Ram Babu gaaru (The artist). Chinmoyji has been cheering me every time I am down and Ram Babu gaaru would greet me now and then on boddunan.  I have also to thank Sandhya Rani from kerala, who would have fun trying to analyze if Chinmoy ji was married or not (remember the old threads) and Sandhya would team up with Kalyani to help me lose my weight by gifting me an electric mosquito bat (where is it by the way??!!)  I know I am getting way too emotional, but due to my time constraints I am not able to spend much time with my boddunan family. If i am not present in Boddunan, boddunan is not taken away from me!!!(This is my line which I had shared with Atul). I still remember the first boddunan get together and second boddunan get together where I was prevailed to Meet Maverick!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all , once again for the lovely words!  P.S- I can still be friends with those who donot know me.... Oh My God Swetha!! That is so sweet of you, remembering all those times we had fun together (virtually of course!) I cannot believe that it is 7 years now that I am a part of this community! It feels so great and different to read it in black and white!. I know what you sent me are not diamonds but they will remain as valuable and precious for me always, because it is the gesture and the thoughts are so much more important than the gift itself. A person who can take time out from her extremely busy schedule and take efforts to put a smile on someone's face, whom she has never met, says it all! That person is a gem herself. I really, really wanted to be with you on your wedding day, but some incidents happened that I could not make it sadly. But I plan to be in Hyderabad soon and will see you personally. May be we could have another reunion planned and those who can come try to make it! As far as the thread goes, I wanted to tell everyone about how a virtual friendship can grow into a real one, so I posted it, I was also so happy that I wanted to shout out about it in the virtual world!

Just because someone passes vulgar comments about women and then apologises , the issue is not closed...I sincerely wish that the fellow gets what he deserves, a kick in the +++ for his vulgar mentality and the audacity to pass such cheap comments on a public platform.. The party he represents seems to be perpetually in the news for all the wrong reasons ...

@Vijay.I don't know why you have chosen yours truly to be honored being a brutus? As far as my poor knowledge goes about the context that the poor brutus had to leave Caesar, his friend, when he saw in him the arrogance and hubris of a ruler to destroy the Roman republic to emerge as emperor even started comparing himself with gods!! I also don't know if Gulshanji who has generously thanked you for being his alter ego, would be be comfortable being the Caesar!!

I am delighted that you have an able comrade in Vijay to aid and abet in all what you are out there to do.Long live your bondship! He is so spritually tied to you that he can even gauge your feelings and even emote for you! Finally let me say very clearly that I look at issues only and haven't mortgaged my soul to none to arrive at conclusion in my own method. Chinmoy, I have no words to express in proper words about your straightforward responses. There is a duo here who complement each others views.   IN fact, the senior member's intolerance and dismissive attitude towards Hindu history  and Indian culture has only grown into leaps and bounds after the arrival of the spiritual brother! earlier too., he had freely expressed his opinions, but it is only now he has started accusing us all as being Fascists because we are Hindus and we want our country to reclaim its lost identity!

Kalyani Nandurkar wrote: chinmoymukherjee wrote: If poverty of your arguments makes you a loner why dub the majority as 'fascist'! What do you think friends? This is the first time I come across such horrible mindsets. The majority,if there is one at all, are being unfairly accused of running a sister outfit of RSS! This is the quality of tolerance of our erudite member! We get regular,at times grindingly boring, lectures and sermons on the virtue of pluralism from him.Physian, heal thyself!! You know Chinmoy this is not the first time such accusations and poor arguments been proclaimed by the esteemed member. He has been known to be very abruptly dismissive of our fine history and culture and has made fun quite a number of times. This is the reason for my recent outburst in another thread. Have you also read in another thread how no one has forced Hindus in conversion ever? NOt the first time we have been labelled as fascists, while they fail to recognise themselves as one of a persistent kind over and over again! Well said Kalyani and Chinmoy.. I see more and more people and some members becoming intolerant because of arrogance and partly ignorance about many historical facts pertaining to India which of course they twist according to their convenience anyway..either way, it becomes amusing when they judge others and call them Fascists while they themselves are very much so...

sarala wrote: dowry is just a small help to the people who took the responsibility to make arrangements of marriage. Earlier mostly bridegroom parents used to take the responsibility so the bride parents used to help them by giving little amount. later with time it became compulsory for bride parents to give dowry and even became in such a way bride groom parents started demanding Now the situation is changing. It is true, groom's parents demand dowry and the Bride's parents have to oblige. But do you know that there are parents who offer dowry, even if the groom's parents do not demand dowry. Such parents think not offering Dowry is below their prestige. In my case, I neither gave dowry for my two daughters nor accepted dowry for my son. There may be people like me who married their sons and daughters without dowry.

rambabu replied to the topic what is secularism?.
usha manohar wrote: Jincy Aby wrote: usha manohar wrote: Of course this is a known fact because the so called secular laws are for Hindus only ! They have to practice family planning and abide by all laws laid down by the constitution whereas both Muslims and Christians can have their own laws with regard to marriage, divorce and property ! And on top of that the majority community is discouraged from not discussing about these special rules made for them...Our nation is communal not secular !   There are some laws in Christian religion. But the religion never compel people to obey there rules. People have complete freedom to reject a particular law if they can't follow. But in Muslim religion, they ought to obey the laws of Islamic.    No country pampers minorities like our country does and this is bad all round because it breeds discontent among the majority community and minorities take things for granted , even manipulate the system as and when they can...If we see countries like Germany and France where they have a large number of Muslims , Hindus, Sikhs and others , the law remains the same for all...They have to follow one uniform law, no head gear, no burkha ...Muslims are not unhappy there because they are treated at par with others but they also cannot manipulate the system.Any unrest has come now because of the generosity of these nations, who have given assylum to a large number of Arabs , among whom there were traitors who showed their true colors by biting the hand that fed them..Otherwise , with a uniform law people remain much more happier and there will be no reason for complaint! I sincerely wish Modi gets to rule for at least 10 years because that is the time he requires to set this nation straight and bring in some much needed changes..change some moth eaten laws to begin with !   Pampering the minority community was started by the earlier Governments to build and strengthen Vote Banks. Yes, there are a plethora of moth eaten laws which need to be thrown in the Bay of Bengal. I'm sure Modi is capable of setting the nation straight. What all he needs is time.

Let us wait for final court decision. The fact of doctoring of videos is now well known.   Yes. let's wait for the final decision. There is no meaning in jumping to conclusions before the court's final decision.
