I don't know enough about him. I know only that he was a freedom fighter and also sentence for Kala Pani. I think it was his trick to release from kala pani. He was continued his activites as freedom fighter after released, He was not puppet of British.

MG Singh created new topic Was Veer Savarkar a Nationalist or a Stooge of the British Government ?.
Veer savarkar is often portrayed by the RSS, Shiv Sena and BJP as a great patriot who opposed the British Raj. They point to the fact that he was jailed at Port Blain by the English.
But one fact is not published is that Veer savarkar wrote a letter to teh Viceroy asking for pardon for his acts and promised to help the Raj. I reproduce his letter as written for all to read and judge.
I beg to submit the following points for your kind consideration:
………….May I remind your honour to be so good as to go through the petition for clemency, that I had sent in 1911, and to sanction it for being forwarded to the Indian Government? The latest development of the Indian politics and the conciliating policy of the government have thrown open the constitutional line once more. ……..I for one cannot but be the staunchest advocate of constitutional progress and loyalty to the English government which is the foremost condition of that progress.
Moreover my conversion to the constitutional line would bring back all those misled young men in India and abroad who were once looking up to me as their guide. I am ready to serve the Government in any capacity they like, where else can the prodigal son return but to the parental doors of the Government?
Hoping your Honour will kindly take into notion these points.”

They all have their noses up in the air and look down on simple , down to earth people who love their country with all its traditions and customs and feel they are superior beings - all they do is stand out like sore thumbs that shows a sick interior !

I suppose you have overlooked the fact that the Nehru/Gandhi fdamily has been in power for most of these years since Independence and could do what they wanted...If you go through the linkls I have provided, you can see how Sonia Gandhi has manipulated and misused the laws.Please read , get all the information needed and then make your comments..

Exactly, I have the same opinion. Earlier in this thread I have opined that there is nothing wrong in wearing Khadi on a certain day. It will be of great help to the industry and this may act as a promotional campaign which can attract buyers from outside India. That will be a bonanza for the Khadi industry. It will be good for the country.

There is no doubt that Rahul Gandhi is an Indian citizen. But it is also necessary to know how and why his nationality is shown as British in documents of a British corporate body. This is what the Ethics committee of parliament is to investigate.

There never was an issue until Rahul Gandhi and his kind jumped in to gain some political mileage out of the issue, thats waht escalated the problems.If he had the good sense to study the matter rather than jump in simply because he does not know what to do with himself and his time, things would have been resorted as they have now..
