Why should points be given for reading articles? What do these points bring to the reader? Similarly what about members who wake up in the morning and post 20 + replies in forum and build up a 100+ point lead. That points are accumulated is not the issue but intention is the issue. Then throughout the day they pontificate about Modi and morality.

History is full of examples where by force or otherwise vast majority have been suppressed for centuries by few. So please do not leave the onus on the downtrodden to escape moral responsibility. A nice ploy to deflect guilt by upper castes.

Such members should be checked and no points should be given to these members who just click on one article and then close it without reading just for points.

Suppose, you said 5 points a day that means you will READ 35 articles and if the number of posts and points are mismatch the action begins. I hope that is fair enough :)  I agree with you.  Restriction on reading articles may not be possible now. But, whatever is possible within your jurisdiction after consulting Maverick may please be done. Other members do like and read articles. But  such members maintain a balance. Their whole activity is well balanced. But these members in question are building up the points only by reading articles. Such members should be reined in.

No one in their sane mind would want to remain suppressed forever regardless of the caste or class, they are bound to retaliate. So , there will be change in power structure. If they don't fight for their rights , they suffer !

I did not travel to China for site-seeing but official trips so I was supposed to eat what was offered to me by my hosts. Most of the time I told them I was on fasting although I have never kept a fast in my life apart from Karva Chouth (in sympathy with my wife- why should wives have all the fun).

But, there is a problem. If the member takes part in Q&A, the number of points in leader Board do not match naturally. Taking part in Q&A is not against the rules. Is it not ? Please clarify.

I have a solution in my mind. I will apply it next week if I find the number of points on leader board do not match properly with his/her forum posts.

Two of THOSE great ones were at #3 and #4 with in minutes when I checked at 10.30 last night. I had to work hard to show them their place on the leader board. If I see the same next week I will do something that will take care of the problem once for all.  As far limit of five that is not possible without self control but I can clearly see how many articles are clicked (not read) by members with in few minutes.

If  limiting the article reading is not feasible, please think of some other alternative. Thank you for deciding  to check this problem.

I feel that this obsession with food robbs one of the joys of travel. Instead of worrying abt food all the time, if one is ready to eat what is available with an open mind, travel can be a great experience. MoztIndians start off about their travel experience...Europe or whatever place they visited was so beautiful, but the food.... They never try nor are they willing to try !

It takes some time to credit the amount to the winner. Presently, there are only to competitions. Wkkly Leader in Forums and Q&A. So the delays are very rare.

All these are unproven. Can we quite all these?   Anil, we follow some traditions because they have become a part of our life in spite of not having  any scientific validity. At the same time traditions and customs  a,way if life and it depends on individual  and communities to either follow them or leave them or at times improvise depending on the demands of the present day needs. Any deed which is part of life is self proved. But some person here is saying that we follow only those deed which are proved by modern science.   Customs and traditions are different and health care is different. One cannot come to a conclusion regarding this without substantial proof. An oft spoken lie too can become a truth with time, so also some blind beliefs , which when thoroughly analysed , fail the test...

@ Sunil, while I agree that ONLY reading the articles for gaining points is not to be encouraged, the same member/s who object now have done the same thing before, in fact used everything else possible to gain points, so it is futile to be judgmental.. However, articles are meant to be read and when more members read it helps the site as well, also since the admin has not made any set rule against reading articles nor restricted the numbers such a thing is bound to happen...
