rambabu replied to the topic Should Yoga be imposed?.
The impression that Yoga is associated with Slokas and Mantras is totally baseless. Even the Asanas are so simple that a child of 6 years in my neighborhood learnt six type of Asanas within a span of 3 months.

I personally know how some people spend all the time brooding over other's success, though these people achieved several laurels in Music and painting.Their mentality is,only they should achieve anything. No other should.

That is exactly the reason why many groups are opposing Yoga, because it is being promoted by Narendra Modi! I admit that because of certain shlokas and chanting Om during some Asanas and Pranayama, it is associated with Hindu religion, but not everyone is required to say those shlokas, just doing the asanas for their benefit is good enough.

Where does jealousy come into success ? seems totally unconnected ..
“Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time.”
I am not sure I agree with the above quote because many a times we do make mistakes a second or even a third time , but always learn something through these experiences ...

No doubt India would have been better off with Rajan at the helm of affairs but I am sure they will find someone equally competent to handle the job ... If Swamy had not been so vociferous in his verbal attacks, Rajan's exit when it happened probably would not have caused such a ripple as this because governors have come and gone so far without much public notice...
Meanwhile, on the fear of Rajan's ardent supporters that India will not survive the Rajan's exit, let me say that those are overstated of course, for two reasons. The first is that Rajan himself has set up a process that helps to make the Indian central bank less dependent on a single brilliant individual. More importantly, the government may well have found someone who is equally bright to replace Rajan, and no man can ever be called indispensable.
But losing Rajan, while hardly a catastrophe for the Indian economy, does not show the government’s talent management abilities in good light. Whether one agreed with his economic policies or not, there is no doubt that Rajan is a highly talented economist at the peak of his powers – and the government should at least have made an effort to keep him.

Kalyani Nandurkar replied to the topic Should Yoga be imposed?.
The Yoga Day is being celebrated today in my son's school and in many other schools in Pune, but they are going to do so during regular school hours and are not required to be present early or stay back late.
I personally feel that Yoga is much more better and beneficial than the standard PT exercises being taught compulsorily in the schools. Anything that increases flexibility, concentration and physical as well as mental agility should be welcomed with open minds. Why is there such a loud cry against Yoga being taught in schools?

I agree with you, this kind of consumerism is very much on the rise and I think, that even if the father could afford to pay for such costly food and drinks, is it good for the kids' physical health as well as mental makeup? This is happening too much everywhere around us, where kids feel and even working mothers do, that spending a nice amount of money on films and hotels each weekend is their basic right. Not good for discipline and moral fabric of the family!
