As humans, we find it difficult to survive in solitude, and our ability to maintain our social lives is what keeps us going. To have a healthy social life is the right of every child. A student’s mental well-being, self-esteem, self-confidence, and abilities to perform in school, depends upon how he or she is treated by the people around. These are the most important factors why social life is important for students;
For Better School Performance: Student is expected to maintain good study habits and follow a daily routine so that they perform well during examinations. However, certain disturbances like; bullying and teasing, jealousies, breakups and other depressing experiences can affect them mentally, and interfere with their routine. Parents and teachers are expected to teach the students to maintain a healthy relationship with their classmates and school teachers. This helps them to recover from stress and anxiety, leading to concentration towards school performance.
For Developing Connections and Skills: Every student aims for a bright future. Student develops physical, mental and social skills from their educational institutions. Later when they grow up to be adults, they would be expected to have these basic social skills;
- Teamwork
- Respect
- Integrity
- Leadership and
- Independence
A healthy social life depends upon these skills. It is also very important for students to be able to share common interests with people they come across and build lifelong connections that unexpectedly pays off later.
To Be A Better Example: There are certain rewards, such as a character certificate or an A+ for good behavior that is rewarded to students. These small achievements actually play a big role in building a student’s self-esteem and self-confidence. A well-behaved student is always eligible to be elected captain of the class or a team in sports. This builds leadership skills and enhances the ability to give social advice to others, later in life.
